Personally, I joined when Gaia was already considered "the new Gaia." That was over a year ago, and well, what I've seen so far hasn't been anything monumental enough to consider it the "new new Gaia." Sure, they've added new features, but they've been in planning since before I joined. Sure, new people keep joining, and old people keep leaving, but that's the way things go. Look at virtually all online communities: at first it's an underground thing, small, not very pretty. Slowly, more people join, causing it to become somewhat cult-status-ish. This is typically the point when the 'oldbies' start complaining. New people keep joining, old people keep leaving. The cycle continues. Eventually, things mellow out, or the community dies.

I think new new gaia will start once the battle arena thing comes out. I have been on for a year(or almost), but (other than the trolls) I dont see much of a difference than before. There have only been a few new features, and other than fishing, they havent been that big. I cant wait until intrest rates burst into the sky when the arena comes out. Noobs think the items are expensive now, I cant wait until an ice gauntlet costs 10,000 gold.

This seems like a step in the wrong direction.. For me Gaia is fourm and avatar directed. The idea of homes and things of that sort turn me off completely. If I want a little moving Character that can "inter-face" with other players, I'll play a differant game.
