Ok, so I know I haven't been here in a long time and I know I'm not actually dying, but here's the story:

So I had a physics project, a poster, called "The Physics Of _____"
So being the bod mod freak that I am, I decided to do The Physics Of Surface Piercing.
So for the project, I wanted to take a bunch of pictures of me getting a Madison piercing, which I did. ALAS! My friend pierced it (he's a piercer, no worries), and it went really well, didn't hurt all that bad, and didn't look irritated at all after a couple days. But I took the piercing out, because surface piercings rarely fully heal anyway. I kept it in for three days, then took it out after I put together the poster and whatnot. It didn't hurt while it was in, but after I took it out (which was yesterday), it started bruising (getting yellow all around the wounds) and the actual holes are sticking out, kind of like bug bites on my neck. And it hurts, bad, even when I don't touch it.
Mind you, though, that I cleaned it twice a day when it was in and still after I took it out.
What's going on gonk I'm not sure if it's getting infected, or anything, so any advice on how to further keep it clean or to as what it's doing would be highly appreciated. Thank you! heart

The hole is just probably irritated. I'd say to go to your local piercer and have them take a look at it just to MAKE SURE it's not some sort of infection.

But personally,

I'd just keep an eye on it for now. Clean it when you get a chance and put a sterile gauze pad over it to protect it from dirt, oil, and various other irritations. If it gets worse, then it is probably something to be concerned about. Chances are, though, that it'll feel better in a bit of time.

Well thank you very much! I will definitely do so! blaugh

Madison piercings are PRONE to rejection due to the placement of them. This doent mean that they all reject.

Also what you are describing sounds like hypatrophic scarring to me.

how exactly were you cleaning it?
