((OKAY. POST TIME. LET'S GO!... Then I need to do some shiz, fo' realz.))
Icarus winced at Avalon's whistle and might have made a brief attempt at escape to the door. Of course, that brief spell of attempt was in vain... even if Avalon hadn't been around to pull him back and shove him firmly back onto the examination table. Seth's face looked a darker shade for just a breath of time, but that vanished. He crossed his arms and leaned just inside the door frame.
"But my SHOP." Icarus said to the very commanding nurse. "Everything I HAVE is... well, obviously... Cripes." He settled a little, but he was bouncing the knee with the good foot attached at the end.
When Seth was pointed at he quirked a brow in a way that indicated he was a little startled, baffled, or thrown... he might have been feeling annoyed again. No one could have told you which one he was experiencing. When he was finished being scolded he gave a shadow of a shrug and turned to leave.
"WAIT!" Icarus cried after him. "Did you call the fire department? HOLD ON. Don't leave!" He called after him. "You obviously know more than I do, don't you go ANYWHERE, Seth."
Seth stopped outside the door and leaned against the outside wall.
"God... damn... what the hell is going on?"
"It's on the news." Seth said idly.
Karen peered around the door at the rather aloof young man. "The news?" She held up a finger to Icarus and vanished out the door and trotted down the hall. Her heels clicked away.
Icarus exhaled in a very stressed way and began rubbing at the back of his neck as he tended to do. Though, because he feared what Avalon might do if he didn't behave... he sat MOSTLY still. He wouldn't doubt she'd try to sedate him if it came to that.
Moments later Karen was back with a cart, a small television set on top. She failed to get it through the door the first few times and waved at Seth to help her. He raised his eyebrows and managed to guide her in.
"HERE!" She said at last and plugged the television in.
"Channel 9." Seth said in that voice that always seemed to crop up so suddenly that any jumpy individual would find themselves in a constant state of fright in his presence.
Karen turned the television to Channel 9 and there on the screen was Icarus's burning shop. There was a gathering of fire trucks and then handfuls of firemen attacking the fire with big, thick hoses spewing gallons and gallons of water. Icarus stuck his index finger in his mouth and bit down on it... hard.
Karen just stood back and shook her head. Seth wasn't saying anything.
The lady newscaster who's voice had been in the background was now on the screen again with blazes of fire and dark smoke to serve as her background. "And that is the scene downtown here today. As to who started the fire, or as to why? The fire chief has said we won't know until the flames die back and they have a chance to investigate the scene. Hopefully the owner of this little computer repair shop has some good insurance... because they're going to need it. Back to you, Tom."
Icarus said something very rude as the news went on to talk about some deaf kid winning a spelling bee.
Seth looked at him through the doorway, the flourescent lights bringing out the dark smudges beneath his eyes. With his hallowed cheeks he resembled a skull. "There was something you missed."
Icarus looked to the younger man and frowned.
"There was a huge jail break this morning. They got out last night." And that was all he needed to say.

((Hahahaha...yeah I was in Panama city...I really dunno what I should type so this might sound pretty ugly and bad.))
While Icarus and Terry had gone to the hospital Zoe had gone to George's house. It was his day off work, being a Saturday. When she had gotten there Stan had instantly made his way on a couch in the large living room and fallen asleep. Zoe and George took the other one, flicked on the television and George listened to Zoe tell the whole story. Everything from the second he left her at Icarus' place. He said nothing as she spoke, only listened. And when she finally stopped he seemed emotionless, as if trying to think of a reasonable thing to say without being rash or cruel. He had little to say, but Zoe seemed to make it even harder for him to say a thing when she leaned against him and began to cry.
Later after the consoling George had declared it a good idea to get up and take a walk. They'd leave Stan there to sleep since he didn't seem ready to get up any time soon. Zoe agreed and off they went to talk a walk. There was a silence around them that was normal. Then Zoe would mutter something to him and he'd look at her and shrug, and look away. Something about his silence though made Zoe worried. She was sure he was thinking of Icarus and how taken to him Zoe had been in the earlier years. He was probably thinking of how angry he had been when he had caught them together after school and how it had all escalated.
"George...we agreed. We wouldn't let our past dictate us." Zoe said quietly as she walked down the street. George licked his lips and looked to her before tilting his head up and sniffing the air. Zoe followed his gaze and saw the smoke billowing into the sky. Where it came from the two couldn't see...but something made her sick. "You think everyone got out okay?"
"...you wanna check it out?" George asked. Without answered they both took off into a quick walk down the street. What Zoe saw as they got closer made her start to sprint at a racer's pace towards the fire. Her heart was hammering in her chest and she felt her hands begin to tremble. What if they had gotten home already and were caught inside? She felt tears in her eyes as she got to the scene and was shoved back by police.
"LET ME THROUGH! THAT'S MY FRIEND'S HOUSE!" She yelled in a shrill voice and shoved at the police. George quickly took her arms and pulled her back, holding her as she squirmed and panicked. "HE MIGHT BE IN THERE! BOTH OF THEM."
"If they are we can't do anything. The firefighters got this okay?" George said deeply and Zoe squirmed out of his arms before running down the street towards the hospital, her whole body on edge and her head getting light and dizzy. She needed to see them, make sure they were okay.
((Lalala...hopefully that works...haha...now George knows about everything. So that might make some things happen as well. ))

((Okay... *tries to sit and focus to post* I FEEL LIKE POO! biggrin ))
Terry wasn't sure how to react to the whole thing. One minute they're in a room, his friend undergoing a routine checkup, the next they have some crazy nurse working for them, Icarus' shop was on fire, and there was one HELL of a creepy guy standing in the doorway, delivering the news.
Apparently his name was Seth, and Icarus knew him. It made Terry momentarily wonder just what sort of people his friend had been hanging out with... And then he decided it really wasn't any of his business. At least Terry'd managed to avoid getting shot in the foot or too many other places while he'd been gone.
It then hit him that his precious motorcycle might very well be in danger. "Holy hell, Icarus we need to get down there."
"Not until I'm finished. And you two had best calm down. There's OBVIOUSLY nothing you can do about it, so shut up and take it. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not a completely callous jerk, I have a bit of a heart somewhere." She stood from where she was, having just finished re-dressing Icarus' foot. "You guys can crash at my place if you need to. I'm not home much, so it won't be a big deal." She held up a finger, "But while you're there, it's 35% of anything you make."
Terry was unsure how to feel about THAT one.
He DID, however, turn his full attention to the little television that Karen had brought in. He swallowed a whimper at the sight of the building, trying to catch a glimpse of anything that perhaps made it out of the fire intact. The newscaster wasn't giving him much hope.
While the fact that a prison breakout meant little to nothing to Avalon, Terry was a bit more wary of the way Seth had mentioned it. And the look on Icarus' face was sign enough to start worrying. It didn't take a genius to put together that it was probably one of the "They" that had escaped that had started the fire.
Terry then gave an unexpected laugh and pointed towards Icarus. "Shitty time to have a hole in your foot, isn't it?"
It was about then that sounds of a very worried voice were carried through the hall, and it didn't take much to realize the voice belonged to an equally upset Zoe. Apparently, she'd seen the news this morning too.

((LOLZ. I'm actually posting... CRAZY. NOWAI. Yawai.))
"Well, obviously, Terry." Replied an irritable Icarus. "You don't think I'd LIKE to get down to my HOME that's probably being reduce to nothing more than cinders?!" His eye twitched.
And then Avalon pretty much told them both to quit their whining. Karen laughed into her hand. Icarus just sighed and put his face in his hands.
"Glad you can talk so lightly while everything I own is consumed in flames." He mumbled into his fingers. "Damn, you're a hard a**." He said of her.
"You don't own very much." Seth pointed out off handedly.
Icarus shot him a look. Seth didn't seem to notice. However, he reserved a dirtier look for Terry as he laughed and pointed out his foot. Slowly he smirked.
"Well, that's what partners are for... eh, partner?" Icarus sneered. He returned his gaze to Seth and with the aid of his crutches and before Avalon could stop him he was on his feet. "Do you have any idea who did it?"
Seth didn't respond. Instead he half raised an eyebrow. "Either way. You have your work cut out for you." His eyes flickered at Terry. "Or, at least, your friend does."
At the sound of Zoe's worried voice down the hall Icarus squinted. "Oh... hell... She probably thinks one of us is dead, Terry." Taking great launching steps with his crutches he burst into the hall and waved Zoe down. "HEY!" He said, smiling as best he could as he imagined all his precious technology sizzling and sparking in the fire. "Thought you didn't want to come to the hospital!"
Karen peeked her head into the hall.

Zoe stumbled into the hospital, nearly colliding with a wheelchair as she jumped to the side. As she jogged down the halls she felt sick, her stomach churned bitterly, wanting her to stop with the running for just a second. She had probably just ran five miles in such a short period of time. When Icarus came out into the hall she came to a slow stop just inches from him and took a deep breath. As she caught her breath she rubbed her forehead and looked over her shoulder as George came into view.
"I don't." She managed as she shook her head, trying to get rid of the spots in her vision. When George finally came behind her, he shoved a bottle at her and she took some pills, swallowing them down. "I mean...I don't WANT to be. But I wanted to make sure you were alright." She hated situations like these. She was probably the worst person to go to for advice or moral support for she hated confrontation and dealing with emotions. It was a major reason for the acts and mental blocks she always put up through out her childhood. Dealing with herself was hard enough, adding others on top of it was something else.
She took something out of her pocket and shoved it at Icarus rather quickly. "Here. I thought you'd like these. I had them for a few days actually..." She looked to the object in her hands, a small packet of candy cigarettes. "Or am I supposed to say something comforting?" She asked aloud and furrowed her brows. "I'm really sorry?" She said in a questioning manner before sighing loudly and glancing behind him to see Karen and a strange man. "Should I leave? It seems you have lots of company." What was she saying? Why couldn't she stay? Behind her George remained still, she could feel him like a rock.
"I think the smell of death is making me sick..." she muttered, though really it was the anxiety and worry that was doing it.
((I DUNNO. I couldn't think of what to put... :< She's so awkward... haha. ))

((I sorta miss our fairy tale one... Haha and it's SO CLOSE to the end too. D:
....Posting now. Yeah. D: Haha I suck. End of story. *falls asleep on keyboard* ))
Avalon flashed a bright smile at Icarus as he made a comment about her actions. "No, dear, I'm realistic. s**t happens, right? So either suck it up and deal, or cry about it. Usually crying doesn't do you any good... It just makes you a sticky mess." She gave an offhand shrug and flicked her pen against her clip board. "YOu're free to go if you want to. Just make sure you stay off that foot, and come back next week to get those stitches out. Did you have a phone number or something I can reach you two at?"
"Also, Icarus," she caught his gaze and frowned, "You don't seem the type to get too attached to mere items anyway. Maybe this'll be good for you."
"Here," Terry offered, scribbling down his cell number and shoving it into Avalon's hand, avoiding her gaze. He wasn't so sure on her joining up - but then again, he didn't exactly have a say. He'd just talked Icarus into it only the previous day... And look what happened. His friend couldn't walk right, and now his house had burned down. His bike had probably been stolen too. Beh.
AND WHY THE HELL WAS THAT CREEPY GUY LOOKING AT HIM AGAIN?!
Shaking that off, he got to his feet the moment Icarus did, stepping behind his friend, just as Zoe appeared with George in tow. It must have been an amusing sight, grown men and women peeking outside a doorway. But, it was what it was, and Zoe proceeded to voice her worry for her friend. Apparently, she'd seen the news.
At this, Terry piped in and waved a hand, "We're alive, thankfully. Icarus' stuff is probably all gone..." He chewed at his bottom lip. He had a little money to his name... maybe they'd be able to find a few more bounties... Speaking of criminals... Setting his jaw, Terry turned towards Seth, pointing at the rather eerie man, "You. What the hell were you talking about?" Prison breaks? Yeah. What?
Avalon gave a sigh and leaned against the wall. "You know, I might need to get out of here and keep at my job. Who knows, someone might be dying from an overdose on an insulin drip."

((OKAY! LAST ONE! I need to swiiiiiim and shiiiizzzzz))
When Zoe stumbled over to Icarus, Icarus almost felt as if he should put his arms out to catch her. She seemed so frantic. He laughed at her a little, a light hearted sound.
"You're a goof." He said of her and then: "RELAX, would ya?" He frowned down at the gift she had in her hands. Icarus quirked his mouth into a sideways smile. Lightly he took the gift into a hand and laughed. "Wow. Thanks." He laughed again. "I actually... really, thanks." He grinned at her. "These'll be great. Terry can call me gay instead. It'll be a nice break for him... and I always was a sucker for sweets." He gave her a half hug, being he could only do it with one arm anyway.
"What a punk." He said. "Of course you can stay... and..." he looked around her to George too. "If you want to." He raised his eyebrows expectantly. "You're the man with the drugs after all... never know when she might need something." He joked.
Icarus then hobbled back in to quirk an eyebrow at Avalon. "Ah ha... she has me all figured out." He said of her. "She KNOWS me, Terry." He said with a laugh in his voice, but it was kind. "NUMBER?" He perked up. It was then he took his place back on the examination table. "Ooooh... I hurt... yes, yes I do... I hurt. Maybe you should give me YOUR number so I can call about any problems... you know... since we should work together?"
Seth, when Terry addressed him, just stared at him. He raised his eyebrows.
Icarus laughed. "You need to be a little more specific... he's not really... er... a talker."
Seth nodded his head still watching Terry. He was eerily calculating. He might have thrown a look at the newcomers once, but he seemed mostly interested in Terry right now... like a cat interested in a mouse with a broken leg.

Zoe watched Icarus as he spoke to her. She nodded quickly and rubbed at her forehead, brows furrowed. "Yeah...you're welcome..." She began. When he gave her hug she smiled slightly and laughed. "Of course. They're better than the real ones." When he invited them to stay she smiled and nodded again, grinning with relief. "Of course." When Icarus left to the room she looked at George who was glaring harshly.
"Oh come on...stop being such a b***h." She said and waited for him to answer her. "Please? For me? Just...deal with them for a little while, and don't say anything jerky." As she waited for an answer she noticed his charming green eyes flicker to the side and back to her, hearing Terry talk about prison breaks was obviously going to make him stay.
"Fine. For you." He announced and followed Zoe into the room. She stayed off to the side and looked at Seth curiously, she had seen him before hadn't she? Something to do with bounties probably. George too studied him, a bit more critically. Zoe sighed through her nose and looked to Avalon as Icarus talked about working together. Her heart tightened. For a moment she was jealous, extremely jealous. Her jaw clenched and George put a hand on top of her head, tilting his own. "Listen to your own advice, Zoey." He said softly and grinned at her when she relaxed.
Fine...who cared if Icarus though some other woman deserved to work with him more than her, even if she had even offered him. Even if she had more experience and could catch them easily. Who cared? Not her. "Thanks for treating him." She quietly said to Avalon and rubbed at her lips for a moment.
"There was a prison break? The one near here?" George spoke up to Seth since it seemed that everyone was looking at him for their answers.
((Lolz. Zoe got jealous. XD ))

((LULZ JEALOUS. POST TIME. GUH!))
Terry just rolled his eyes at Icarus' gay statement, mostly because he was distracted by the creepiness that was Seth.
Avalon, on the other hand, was shaking her head and trying not to laugh at Icarus. "Yes, Icarus, NUMBER." She raised a thin eyebrow at his trying to get hers, and as she scribbled it down on a piece of paper, she had to give a laugh, "That was THE worst try I have ever heard to get my digits. You're a lucky little punk, you know that?"
Frowning, Terry looked at Seth, trying not to break eye contact. It was hard. He was FREAKY. "Like Zoe said... The prison break. What does that have to do with Icarus?"

((OMG AMANDA THAT'S THE BEST POST EVER. YOU'RE SO COOL.
LET'S GET MARRIED.))
Icarus grinned ever so prettily. "I do realize how lucky I am." He replied in a sing song voice. Pleased as any man receiving a hard to come by telephone number by being as persistent as hell, he slid the paper into his pant's pocket and patted it. His smile was slightly gloating. He then waggled his eyebrow teasingly.
He then looked to Zoe and laughed a little. "She mostly HAD to treat me... it's what she gets paid for... am I right?" He asked of Avalon. "I mean... would she seriously otherwise, Zoe? As charming as I am." He laughed again.
Seth, at Terry's question, stared at him for a few more moments. He seemed to be deciding if talking at this point and time was going to be worth it. Taking note that Terry didn't seem to be breaking eye contact he gave a very subtle sigh. His shoulders moved just ever so slightly and his breathing changed for a brief second. Seth obviously didn't sigh very often, or very deeply.
"Aright." He said. "Imagine for me... if you will, that you're in jail." He paused, raised his eyebrows a little; continued. "You break out... who's the first person you're going to go after?"
"The b*****d who put you IN jail." Karen said off handedly, and then squinted as if she hadn't really meant to say that out loud.
Seth raised an upturned palm and gave Terry a very condescending look. "It's the same thing I did." And then he might have smirked.
Icarus nodded his head gravely. "Yeah." He said and rubbed at his face tiredly. "Yeeeeah he did."
Seth then looked to the new comer George and frowned. "Yes." Was all he said.
"Wait... Oh hell." Icarus said. "Maybe I should leave the country. Anymore guys like Seth after me and I might as well just croak it right here and now... probably not a good idea to try and die here though... you know, in a hospital."
Seth looked to Icarus. "No. They aren't like me." His dark eyes seemed to go even a shade deeper. "I was much worse." And he looked at Terry again, that shadow of a smirk at the corners of his mouth.
"... True." Icarus agreed.

((...so does this mean we're getting a divorce?!?!?!?! HOW DARE YOU! I KEEL YOU. And I dunno what to post guys...but I figured I should before I leave to Cali.))
Zoe watched Seth curiously as he spoke, already understanding what he was trying to tell Terry. When he finished she glanced at George who was glaring at nothing in particular and leaned in to Zoe's ear. "We need to get out of here. Having two targets in one place makes it easier."
"What? No!" Zoe said bitterly and looked defiantly up at George who looked grim as he motioned outside to talk privately. "Excuse us." She grumbled angrily and followed George outside.
"What do you mean no? It's obvious. You're in danger. Those people want you dead, they'll want revenge, just as much as they'll want...that guy..." he didn't want to say Icarus's name. "If you two are together it makes it easier to get either one of you. I'm not just saving your a**, but his too."
"No. This isn't what this is about. At least not all it is. You're angry at me, at them. You're just wanting your own satisfaction by getting what you want. I KNOW you George Castillo. I KNOW you. You're always trying to get your way and only looking out for me and yourself. What about everyone else? Or has being a lawyer made you forget about that? Or have you never thought of anyone else?" She glared at him and was about to go inside when he snatched her shoulder, not hard, but enough to hold her back.
"Don't be a stupid b***h." He said, voice low and dangerous. She looked straight into his eyes, her own fired up. "I don't care about you two, or his friends, I care about you, and I'll be DAMNED if I let that...that...guy...ruin your life. If you know what's good for you you'll stay away. At least until this blows over. You know, Zoey, you KNOW it's the right thing to do. I may be a lawyer, but I'm not THAT much of a p***k to make you do something stupid."
"Only a big p***k, not a total one." She said, eying him. He nodded slowly and let go. She remained in her place, glancing at the door in frustration. "But...what if...something happens..."
"You'd rather have two people killed instead of one? Anyways. He's got everyone else there. Not like he's completely alone...though he probably shoul-"
"Oh stop. Don't go any further or I will kick you in the balls." She then turned away and walked down the hall, past the door, staring at her feet. They had to...George was right. It made them just easier targets staying together. "Fine...you're right. Happy?" She then walked back into the room and looked to Icarus, eyes upset and her mouth in a firm frown. "I have to go." She muttered quickly and walked out, George gave a sigh and nodded again.
"You're doing the right thing."
"Just for now. The right thing...for now."
((Lolz. You can still stop them if you want, or let them leave. It's up to you. ;D! I can deal either way. WHEEEE.))
