my ps3 has been freezing, but it only happens when im online playing COD4...is this COD4 doing this...or is this a ps3 issue???

I've had GTAIV freeze on me once... After playing it for about 14 hours, and it froze on me once during Uncharted.
How frequent is the freezing?

I've heard COD4 does this on the PS3. And of course GTA4 has a history with PS3 freezing as well.

ok cool, i just wanted to be sure that it wasnt something that my system was doing...
and it happens like once every 2 weeks...but my sister plays COD for like 5 hours straight at times, each day...so i guess i'll ask her to cut back a bit then

certain games cause the system to freeze. gta was freezing up on me, but the patch fixed that. mine hasn't done it outside of gta for a while though.

Supposedly the recent update is supposed to help with freezing issues with certain games. Of course, Sony is denying that it's for GTA4 rolleyes Silly Sony. Anyway, yeah, the patch fixed freezing issues the game had with some of the PS3s because of the programming. This firmware update most likely was for launch PS3s with the EEC(Emotion Engine) because even after the patch, people with launch PS3s seemed to still be having issues. The EEC seemed to be a problem from what I've heard.

yeah, i have a 60 gb. what's weird is that i had the game for a week before it started having problems, then they had the patch up in about 3 days i believe.

Mine has only done this during Assasin's creed but I just assumed it was the game rather than the console.

My PS3 freezes on me every once and awhile after playing for a long time. Although it happens when I am playing Oblivion or a PS2 game.

I used to have odd moments when Oblivion that it'd freeze up on me, but other than that nothing.

I freezed up a few times when I was playing Warhawk. I wonder hwat's happening...
