Elijah's fingers had shuffled through the mail with a the nimble nature of a pianist. He was quick, effective, and orderly in his motion - never ceasing as his eyes skimmed the titles of each sender. Bill collector, bill collector, catalog, credit card, bill collector, catalog, special offer, special offer ... Dating service.

For a moment, he had felt himself falter on his task. The chill evening breeze to rush through his window as he sat cross-legged on the edge of his bed had sent a shiver down his spine. Quietly he had dropped the remaining bits of his mail, holding up the foreign envelope as if it were some ungodly thing. He could only think of a few logical reasons behind such a letter. Someone was playing tricks with him - or someone was attempting to be helpful in the most unusual way. I guess I'm a little too magical for real people, or maybe I am the puzzle they would rather observe than solve?. The familiar statement of bitter sarcasm had tainted his mind as he mouthed the title of this so called dating company. A bemused grin had graced his lips, slowly transforming into a broad and sinister grin. He had shaken his head, setting the letter down upon his blanket before climbing off of the bed. His hands had carefully been set to his sides as he strode to the small kitchen, patting the glass of the wide custom contraption he had constructed for his dear mischief partners.

Without much word, he had opened the refrigerator to pull out a bottle of water. His brows had furrowed together as he took a drink, his mind nearly idle until it came across yet another thought. Cupid's Chokehold. It sounded delightfully unorthodox, if not a tad kinky. Certainly something of that nature were a joke. Not to mention - who in their right mind would offer him dating services? Remington, he had thought - imagining the man filling out a form and sending it in on his behalf. It wasn't beyond the other, but it was far from an acceptable gesture. He was perfectly content with his small apartment and fleeting interactions. He did not angst for social delight. I guess I'm a little too..., the words were sour for his mind. Harshly, he had yanked the bottle of water away. A breath had been inhaled as he capped it, glancing back at his two mice, who seemed to be sitting and staring at him from the center of their confines.

"You wouldn't happen to know anything about it, would you?" He had asked in a half serious manner. He had smiled again, his eyes drifting to his bare feet as he strode forward. "Dating services. How hilariously unexpected, don't you think?" His smile had grown wider as he set his forehead against the glass.

"Those things never work."

The two mice had scratched their heads, blinking at him unknowingly.

"Right?"

Again, they stared - though their eyes gleamed somewhat. Houdini, the shimmering white of the two rodents, had scampered away - slipping beneath one of the items within the case. Leopold was soon to follow, though they each returned on their own as if monitoring some aspect of Elijah's self conversation.

"They're a senseless waste of time for hopeless fools with no particular purpose." Elijah had continued. His slender fingers had stroked at his chin a moment before ruffling his hair. "Why bother opening it? Yes? A senseless waste of precious time, and I've better things to do." He had frozen a moment. "We have better things to do." He had corrected, ruffling his messy orange curls again. "The 'mouse vanishing in thin air'. We do need to work on that one, wouldn't you say so, Leopold? Houdini?"

The two rodents had twitched their noses as if in disapproval, again vanishing beneath their item. Their small feet had pattered loudly to the tune of the ticking clock.

"Oh, now don't be that way! It isn't a dangerous trick!" Elijah had protested. His arms had folded about him as he blew out a frustrated breath. Then he had walked away, loosely carrying his bottle of water with two fingers. The item had dropped as he drew near the bed again.

Curiosity got the better of him, and before he knew it he had opened the letter to read its seemingly farcical message. So Remington hadn't actually filled out a form. Perhaps he had been recommended? How silly! Yet the unreal, sadly true nature of it all left Elijah laughing as he fell onto his back. He had stared out the window, contemplating before shouting out to his two flighty partners.

"I'm filling it out!" He had proclaimed - and the two mice seemed to poke their heads out just to twitch their noses curiously about whatever he raved on. They had slithered towards their container's edge, poking their faces against the glass as they watched Elijah fill out a form.

Ridiculous, hah!, Elijah's mind had echoed as he scribbled down the seemingly simple information. Then he had grown stern, his silly, casual insults of the matter waning with truth. ... But it's worth a shot, isn't it?

I guess I'm a little too magical for real people.

Maybe not. Maybe not.

He was uncertain of the entire matter, yet there was something compelling about filling out that form. It was loose. It was simple. In many ways, it was as exhilarating as performing itself was. Mysterious. Surprising. He could only grin from ear to ear of the shock value. He would have to remember to thank Remington if he truly had been involved.

After all, it was an opportunity his mind would not allot him to miss.

Name: Elijah Fawsi.
Age: 26.
Gender: Male.
Sexuality: Pansexual.
Species: Human.
Any Children?: No children.
About Me:

My name is Elijah, but a number of people call me Eli. I'm a professional performer living in the city, and I take my craft very seriously. I'm a magician and escape artist by title, but I fancy myself a comedian all the same. It is my greatest ambition to entertain people and bring them smiles, laughs, and thoughts of wonder. There's nothing more incredible than showing someone something they may not understand or believe. It adds a little charm to life, and that is why I greatly enjoy what I do.

I like to have fun. Mostly I like to experiment. Try new things, learn, venture, broaden horizons. I find that sort of thing enlightening. I really like to travel, particularly out to the country side where the grass grows tall and there is scenery to be seen.

I also have two rather special mice, Houdini and Leopold, who have been with me for a very long time. I like rodents, and I really do feel that people misunderstand their nature.

Over-all? I think I'm a fairly intelligent and nice guy. I simply enjoy having a good time.

Hobbies: Magic tricks, theater, entertainment, football (soccer), reading, and modern art. Caring for my mice. I also like science and history. I suppose you could say I'm a bit of a 'geek', though that seems relatively harsh.

Talents: Well, this seems a little tricky. I'm good with magic tricks, illusionary art, and escape art. I can do a lot of things most people wouldn't dream of doing; the longest I can hold my breath is for three whole minutes! I could probably go even longer. I think I'm fairly good with modern art and item arrangement to gain interesting visual appeal. I'm fantastic at football, though I'm not really any good at other sports. I think I'm a decent singer, but that has been subject to debate for years.

Looking For: Adventure. Excitement. A little pizazz to spice things up even more. Someone interesting, and smart - who at least knows what they're talking about when they open that mouth of theirs. Perhaps cooperative, or at least understanding. Someone who shares and shoulders, but knows when to point or take blame. I'm not particularly choosy. Surprises. Affection. Understanding. Someone who is relatively sincere and knows how to have a good time.

And someone who doesn't mind rodents.

Other: I enjoy games of chance. Nothing like it in the world. It's remarkable.

Player: Ieeko.
About Me:

I rarely know what to put in sections like this. Ha, ha.

I'm eighteen this year, and a graduating high school senior. My college courses are due to start in July, pending tuition gathering and final transcripts to seal the acceptance into the program I applied. To be honest, I'm never really that busy. There are times when I'm genuinely fatigued or working, but I usually have more than enough time to dedicate to things - especially now that high school has wound down and the role of playing Underdog has ceased. I'm a conversationalist and enjoy speaking with my RP partners, getting to know them, and planning outside of the In-Character spectrum. There's no better way to hold interest than to collaborate, right? I enjoy that; I also enjoy mixed effort and sharing the idea production. I like to give suggestions, and I really enjoy it when others also offer me suggestions. The more situations I can conceive with an RP partner, the better!

I've been writing formally for a grand total of eight years at the last count, nine if you unofficially count experimental writing in Elementary. Naturally, I consider myself a seasoned writer --- though I don't take myself too seriously. I write for fun, and, at heart, I really just want my partner to have fun too, and for us to develop witty story, tense drama, and elaborate schemes. I enjoy plots and story lines, particularly things with great conflict or problematic issues. Part of the fun in entertainment is the suspense of tragedy blended with humor and happiness. Typically I like to explore bizarre twists, be they humorous in nature, or more dark and horrid. I fancy my literature tastes as those of authors like Oscar Wilde, Melville, and Alexander Dumas. Namely, I enjoy classical literature with adventurous and peculiar twists and takes on human nature. I also enjoy farce, satire, and comedy. Greatly. It's a wide variety. I just enjoy fine-arts and exploring creativity. I'm always looking to try new things and to keep my brain occupied and geared up for action!

That said? I do consider myself an open and nice kind of guy. I'm a gentleman at the core - though I can promise I'm not this proper in casual conversation. Still. Nice. I like meeting people, and I enjoy getting involved when I can. But, that's enough about me, right? I'm just an adventurous, intense plot-monger and artist.

Likes/Dislikes (IN RP):

I like plot-lines. Story. Direction. I suppose you could say I like the driving force of looming suspense and activity. Trials and errors, characterization, and general productivity. So one of the things I'm big on is working things in interesting directions. I really do enjoy it when partners collaborate with me to come up with events or happenings that may be fun for us both. I also like surprises in roleplay. Unexpected happenings are the best! Keep you on your toes!

I believe in quality over quantity. Sometimes I write large posts, but I don't encourage people to meet that same size at all. It's the content of the post, not its length, which counts.

I like forum RP, though I do AIM RP as well depending on the moment and fancy. I don't really have any roleplay limitations. Intimacy doesn't cause me to leap back and cover my mouth screaming "ONOES!", but if something like that were to happen it'd probably be better to discuss it first, yeah? But I find comedy and sexual humor to be realistic and quirky. I enjoy silliness and bouts of fun, albeit logical, immaturity in roleplay. I also enjoy serious, stern, moments. It's all about the feeling.

I also like when my RP partners can double-up characters - meaning play multiple at once. I do it willingly with NPCs and such, so it's a plus, plus if my RP partner can do it too!

Uh. Only other thing I can think to say is that I like novel-style RP. Third person formal. But that can be expected, yeah?

Style: Narrative format; third person, both limited and omniscient, though typically third person limited. I'm rather novel in style, writing paragraphs and using flows of descriptive language to convey feeling and setting.

Availability: I'm on PST time - but I'm available and online every day.

What I want for the character:

For Elijah? I'm really wanting to explore plot and intensity with him. I'd like to see great aspects of conflict and suspense --- but more so I'd really like to see someone who is going to balance out Elijah's reckless and stubborn tendencies. A voice of reason, if you will --- someone who compliments that unorthodoxy, possibly even with their own unorthodoxy. A competitor, or someone with a common sense balance. I would really just like to see a close and almost buddy-ish relationship for him. Strong, trusting, and bonded. Experimental and fun. Compassionate. That sort of thing.

Other: I lyk mudkips lulz! :]

Nothing comes to mind!
