 Brian poked his head out of the bushes near the pond, his ears twitching about like little radar antennas as he watched the people and pets romping in the grass and on the edges of the pond. He smiled and pulled his head back in, slithering under some low-lying branches into a sort of little cave inside the bushes that he had found some time back. From the scents, it was obvious that he was not the only one that knew about it, but it was a good spot to hide from most everyone, and sometimes there were even mice to chase under the bushes! He flopped onto his belly and closed his eyes, stretching out for a nice, relaxing midafternoon nap.

Lexus was as strange little kitty. Unlike the normal Orange and black striped coats the Toygers (a relatively new breed) possessed, Lexus had a black coat with white stripes! Although she enjoyed anything unique, the white stripes seemed to act like a beacon to all potential hunting game around...Besides bugs...But what fun were they?
She noticed a cement ledge that peaked through some undergrowth and bushes and decided to see what kind of vantage point she could get. She neared the wall, stretching her head up to somewhat calculate the momentum she would need to reach the top. With a quick wiggle of her tail-less butt, she lept to the top and crouched.
A moment or two passed before she picked up her first sounds... A small mouse jetted through the leafs bellow, making her eyes go wild and narrow; twas the first time she was as 'invisible' as cats should be when hunting, and she was about to use it to her full advantage.
When another little creature decided to rush past, Lexus jumped down and landed with a thump, ontop of a then-sleeping cat.
"I'm sorry!" Lexus called out, picking herself up straight away. "I didnt see you on the other side of the wall.." She spoke quickly, looking around to see that there were no mice in sight.

Brian yelped when a sudden weight descend on him, jolting him out of his nap abruptly. He flailed for a moment under the weight of the other cat, then lay still and looked up. He laughed and smiled when he saw exactly what had pounced him, twitching his ears. "Why hello!" His eyes almost crossed trying to follow her dazzling black-and-white stripped pattern, and he laughed again, rather softly. A moment later he climbed to his feet, and sat down on his haunches facing her. "Aw, that's ok, I should be doing something besides sleeping here anyway, the mice are starting to think of my as a lawn ornament, I think. I'm Brian, by the way." He smiled amicably, curious about the tail-less female.

(Could you post the pic of Brian Kom! *doesn't remember what he looks like EXACTLY..lol*
Her head began to tilt to her left, watching him with curious, bouncing eyes. "I'm Lexus! It's nice to meet you..!" She chirped, then added, "But I'm still quite sorry for the rude awakening..." The striped manx added in a quieter tone, her ears bending back slightly in emberassment. 'Brian..' She repeated to herself mentally, watching the handsome cat.
Lexus' lowered her body to the ground the instant a mouse ran by, quick reflexes on her part...Yet the mouse was already gone.
"Darn it" She mumbled...Then remembered the new stranger. She sat up again and smoothed a ruffle of rebellious fur on her chest, "Haven't spotted you around here before.." She said between lick, pausing to smile before she continued once more.

Brian laughed and sat up on his haunches, using a front paw to brush the little bits of leaves and bush-bits off of his stomach where it tended to collect from lying on the ground. "It's good to meet you too, Lexus! And it's not a big deal, I can think of far worse ways to wake up." He smiled pleasently, and twitched his ears to follow a sound in the bushes. "The mice are certainly active today, aren't they? I think some of them need to be munched!" He chuckled and crouched, wigging his rear end in the air. "Time to warm up the 'ol pounce!"

Lexus watched him quietly in a dignified manner. She was a little touchy on any hunting subject, or rather, she wanted to steer clear from any incident that would make her look like a fool.
"Good luck with that.." She mumbled, swaying her stub of a tail as she walked 'round to Brians side. She was being sulky again...And caught herself in the act. With a deep breath, she swallowed her pride and silently decided to watch Brian work his magic. Perhaps she'd pick up a few pointers along the way...'Of how to look like a fo-' she steered clear from her saucy thoughts..or tried to.
"Well now..Let's see how it's done..!" She said with a coy little grin, lowering her body as her whiskers twitched excitedly.

Brian wiggled his bum in the air again, his tail twitching as he watched the little gap in the bushes that the mice usually ran through. So intently was he watching that he entirely failed to notice the mouse that had run through earlier returning from the other direction.
"I can smell one, it's got to be along soon," he whispered, as the mouse scampered towards him along the run from the side. "When it comes out, I'm going to pounce it. Heyo, what's this?" He turned his head down to the side, for the first time noticing the mouse almost standing on his tail. With an impressive (if slightly startled sounding) yowl, he flipped end-over-end, lashing out with a paw at the stupid little rodent, extending his claws just an instant too late. Instead of snagging the mouse and hooking it in towards himself as he planned, without his claws his paw acted like a paddle, scooping the mouse around and sending it flying through the air towards Lexus.
"Ack, get it, GET IT!"

Lexus did want to pay attention, honestly she did, but the stripes down her paws were slightly ruffled...and a bit of dirt on her nose needed cleaning too. So instead of taking lessons from the spunky tabby, as she had planned, she found herself in the middle of a 'bath', completly uninterested.
"Wh-what?!" She called out, startled at the sound of Brian. She was startled at the sight of a dirty furball flying her way, and yelped. She ducked, sending the mouse flat into a concrete wall, dropping to the ground before trying to scamper away... Trying.
As the mouse tried to desperately escape, lexus found herself completly, and uncontrollably, mesmorized by his jerking movements. Her body threw itself forward as her mind recoiled, closing her eyes as she tried to snag the rodent.
When all four paws were on the ground, Lexus froze in mid-step, opening a single cautious eye as she peered around. When she saw nothing but a startled Brian, she looked down and let her jaws loosen. As the tension in her mouth eased, a little brown and very dead mouse tumbled out.
"Eh...ew.." She mumbled, slightly stunned.

Brian rolled back to his paws, shaking the leaf-bits off of his head and flicking his ears to get them clean. He watched with incredulous eyes as Lexus made a perfect, eyes-closed pounce to catch the mouse in a single, lethal bite.
"Ah... Wow, that was very neatly done," he allowed, "I really botched that one up good, didn't I?" He laughed, padding over to nudge the stunned-looking female with his nose. "That was a darn good catch!" He poked at the stone-dead mouse with his forepaw.

Lexus stuck her tongue out in disgust, then littly wipped it with a dirty paw...THEN proceeded to spit out bits of dirt. "You can have it.." She said in an akward manner. She circled the dead little critter, even so much as nudged it with her paw... But that was it.
Roxy stretched her stripped body, then yawned. "So.. Brian. I havent seen you around here very often"
