The mansion was a rather dank place, especially now since the snow has been melting, the frost leaving the windowpanes to leave tiny trails of water in its wake. The outer grounds however, held a certain charm, especially for a young girl with a fascination for natural beauty. There was a small park by the mansion, built long ago and still used today by many a family. Passed the gardens and not too far away from the swan keep was a small lake, or rather a pond bloated with the spring.

The ground had dried in the severe heat that had lasted all but a week. Storms had long since brought green to the fields and allowed for flowers to attempt and bud. The birds were flying, the bees were beginning to buzz and the trees had started their…ahem… stuff. This, of course caused all amounts of nasal and sinus woe for Eveline however, Lynet was in her prime. She ventured passed her gardens, by the swan keep and decided to boarder the small park. Her paten shoes, clean despite her venture, would not tread pass the line of Feardoc property. She hesitated and thought of her mother back at the mansion, not wanting to disappoint her and venture without her word. But her room, as spacious as it was, felt too cramped and she craved the outdoors and the playground with other kids.

Only a few families stood on the park grounds now, playing or fetching with their dog. Lynet watched by a weeping willow, leaves barely concealing her presence. Her wings flapped a tad in apprehension and wanting to join at the swing sets but not wanting to completely disobey. She bit her bottom lip in trepidaton.

"You shouldn't wander off on your own." A quiet, solomn voice spoke softly from around the other side of the tree. A moment later, a small boy, pale and grey/white like a puff of dust, emerged.

June had dropped Takan off at the park, in hopes of getting a little more time to herself. She knew he was good boy, and would stay out of trouble, though she didn't seem worried in the least about injury or kidnapping, as far as Tak could tell.

"Are you all alone?" Takan asked gravely, eyeing Lynet up and down. What a bright one this one was. All color and nature.

Lynet was taken aback, the ghost like child appearing out of no where. She wrung her hands behind her back, thumbs brushing her skirt and bow as she did so. A stranger. She wasn't supposed to talk to strangers. But this one sounded familiar, like a faint pulse. A thrum thurm thrum in the back of her mind that made her only slightly uneasy. She stretched out a finger, playing with the Willow leaves and gained some comfort. Lynet nodded at the question. Yes she was alone but her mother wasn't far.

"I...I didn't wander that far. You look like you're away from home too."
She paused and fiddled with her lace. "Are you alone too?" Tiny wings twittered like her song, all piccolos and strings. She blushed a little bit and gave a small curtsy.

"My name is Lynet..." She paused, green eyes looking into the white ones before her. "And you are?"

Takan tilted his head, like a swinging mentronome, and frowned. A soft whistly sound rung in his ears, faintly recognisable to him as music. Real, proper music...not the machine of war he had been composed of.

"My woman dropped me off here. She says I'll be fine on my own" Takan inclined his head the other way, this time with a twitch, though, as though his song had wracked his body for a moment.

"I'm Takan." He said, pronouncing his name heavily, to make it sound like it's meaning; the gunfire and steady rythym of war.

Lynet took a deep breath of air. The dust bunny of a boy before her was creepy and it took most of her willpower to not physically shudder. The tremor was not kept out of the small green wings, feather's trembling as she took the tiniest step backwards.

"Your...woman?"
She paused and thought, that wasn't the most polite term... "You mean your mother? Lady? Miss?" She offered. She didn't quite like the terminology spouting from the odd child's mouth.

"No." Takan said solomnly. "I mean my woman. She isn't my mother, and does not deserve the title of Lady." One of his hands jerked upwards harshly, as though he was a digital image that had glitched, then ran the hand through his wool-white hair.

"You're afraid...of me?" He hissed quietly, cold white eyes studying the girl. "What a shame. I like nature. But...I hate ignorance. Too bad for you." He told her blandly, without a hint of remorse.

Lynet stood defiantly. She didn't like being called ignorant, whatever the word meant, and she hated to be mean. She sighed, letting her hands smooth her skirt, a blush rising to her cheeks as she looked out at the other children playing on the small grounds, the willow around her and the birds above her. She attempted to comprehend what Takan had said. She'd always had a comfortable life with a loving mother... no father but there was Cole and Cole was....there. Her nose crinkled, freckled cheeks scrunching about her green eyes.

"I'm not afraid of you."
She hesitated and tapped her shoe on the grass. "I'm sad for you."

Another pause and she took a few steps closer to Takan, fingertips brushing against the willow leaves as she did. "I have a friend, Tanz and he doesn't have a mother either. And your... Miss, doesn't sound very mum like." Her voice was a small hum before she gained confidence again. "And I feel sad because I have a mum and your lady is different."

She took in the boy's appearance again and smiled brightly. "Besides. I like your hair! It looks fun. Mines always curly and boring." She pouted a bit before picking at a leaf. "If you had a miss, what would she be like? Or a sir..." She tacked onto her lame attempt at conversation.

Takan frowned deeply as he tried to comprehend what Lynet had said. She was...sad...FOR him? "There is nothing to be sad for me about," He informed her seriously, "I'm not upset. I just don't like my woman, or mother, or whatever. She is in the business." Although he was quite sure Lynet would not know what he meant by that, he said it anyway. Of course.

His lips tightened considerably at the mention of his best friend. His expression, however, remained stoic, and his stance remained slumping and tilted. If this one knew his Tanz, then he might have to be nice. A shiver. Nice when you don't like someone was hard. "You know Tanz? He is my bestest friend in the world. I met his daddy. Much nicer than my woman."

Takan's cold eyes shot up to his own hair (or tried to at least) for a moment. "I don't know. I don't remember having one." He thought, then added, "But if I did, I would surely hope they didn't cook baby animals, like the woman does,"

"Tanz is very nice and funny." She smiled fondly on remembering their first meeting."You make me think about him for some reason." She tilted her head, warming up to this Takan quite a bit. Lynet relaxed tremendously, her wings giving a pleasant shudder, wanting to suggest that they play a game or something fun. But instead she paused.

Cook baby animals? Her face became very pale once more, dread filling her features followed by extreme horror. She gave a small squeak and covered her mouth with her hands. "The woman?" She changed to call this dreadful being a rude term. "She cooks baby animals?" Her eyebrows shot to her hairline, freckles standing out against her pearly pallor. "How could someone do such a thing?" She paused and huffed, crossing her arms and looking, for probably the first time, rather angry and upset. She felt nothing for this woman than abhorrence.

"I don't like this woman anymore."
She sucked in a breath, wings fluttering in an upset manner. "You were right and I'm sorry for trying to make you call her nice things."

And with that, Lynet promptly became a vegetarian.

Takan's eyes noticed Lynet's wings for the first time since they'd been talking. "I dunno why." He mumbled, watching her wings curiously. He blinked and snapped back to cold and stoic.

"Oh, yes. She cooks baby sheep, and little harmless birds, and..." He paused for dramatic effect, "Baby piggies!" He was very glad indeed that he had gotten through to this winged, curly-haired, whistly-noise-song girl. He greatly enjoyed getting people to despise June, not only because she cooked innocent animals, but because she was in the business.

"I'm glad we can agree," Takan informed her without a smile. He offered his pale hand out for a hand-shake, jerking it forwards with a similar movement to earlier. Like a glitch.

Lynet shuddered at the thought, a heat coursing through her chest and settling in her ears before it poured right out into her stomach. With every list of the harmless animals, baby animals, she became more and more horrified. Baby sheep? Baby piggies? Those she could vaguely understand but she still didn't like it at all. This woman must be part demon or something. Internally she shamed herself for thinking that way about an adult.

The worst of all was the 'little harmless birds'. Her hands flew to her cheeks, eyes watering in sorrow. "Why little harmless birds...", She paused to stop her eyes from watering. "What did they ever do to her?"

Lynet thought of the tiny finches, robins and chickadees at her window in the morning, the nightingale and the mockingbird at night. Then she saw them roasted in a mound of flames. The Symphony visably shuddered, drifting her hands down to her biceps in attempt to calm her self.

A moment passed and she looked up at Takan's offered hand, noting how it jerked and felt sympathy. She took the hand and shook it. "Of course." Lynet murmured and gave a small smile. "It's evil"

Takan nodded gravely and shook her hand in return. He didn't care that he had upset the girl, really. All he cared was that, now, he had someone on his side. Someone who saw the woman for what she was...

...evil.

Takan inclined his head with a jitter, and gazed at Lynet for a moment. "Your song isn't like mine," He informed her, "It's got ladies singing." clearly not using the term 'woman' this time.
