Fishing just takes practice. It could also be the rod you're using.

I'd say go with a rod that gives compensation to where you most frequently lose the fish. Do you usually lose them far away, in the middle, or close up? Upgrading the rods to the plus models also makes the lines farther away from each other, giving you more room to work with.

Cool. I have the Strength Rod Plus because I was losing fish at the very last minute when I was first starting out with Gaia Fishing.
