*VENTING*
I just lost my job out to someone who probably only knows half the knowledge needed for the damn job.
Then my parent's told me "That's good." and "Don't gripe."
*sigh* Well, I can't say I didn't see this coming.
It's almost my birthday, so to me, it makes perfect sense that I get screwed over sideways around this time period.
Sorry about being whiny.

Heh, no need, Srakin.
I've got my own 1337 stick!
It's a metal pole surrounded in Anti-Fail Foam.
Anyway, my job's at my school.
And it's not permanent, it's just for a while and they come few and far in between.
I'm a certified stage hand, light, and robotics technician, and there's a magic show going on tomorrow.
Magic shows need lights, right?
I inquire right away, but for some reason, I got dicked, and the job went to some intern I probably don't care about.
Which is really bad because I need some sort of income very soon...
And my parents... I really don't know what's up with them.
I guess they're always tired of me always being gone.
I'm mostly at school honing my skills so no one ever doubts me, but I think I'm going to give up...
Oh, and my birthday! Yeah, it sucks. I normally forget it.
But yeah, bad things always seem to happen around my birthday.
Last year I got into a fight with a close friend.
Year before that I didn't even have a birthday because my parents weren't around at the time.
And the year BEFORE that one I hit puberty and became interested in the opposite sex.
Which, to me, is bad, because I need to focus on school, not on possible relationships with girls that probably aren't going to last very long.
But lately I've been focusing on the former rather than the latter...
And now this year.
I got dicked out of a job, I can barely remember what I'm doing, and all of my friends are enjoying themselves at the high school band banquet.
I'm turning 16 soon...
I really need to grow up.

I on the other hand think you're trying to grow up too fast. You're only just turning sixteen.
It's worrying that you're so focused on school rather than anything else. Relationships, fair enough. But don't shut yourself off entirely, you know?... You'll end up regretting it. Trust me on this one...
If you find someone you're really attracted to, and you really like as a person too, don't just let them go without at least knowing how you feel about them... You can be focused on your studies and still have a relationship. Just because you have a boy or girlfriend, deosn't mean that you have to drop your studies immediately. Anybody who's actually worth forming a relationship with will understand that. And may even help you.
You speak of puberty in a realy negative fashion, but look at it another way. It's going to happen anyway, that's a given. Biologically, you can't stop it. If you could, it'd be creepy. Really, really creepy. o.O;
Don't look at it as a hindrance. Sure it might be annoying what with zits, and hormonal urges and hair growing in icky places (seriously, I could have really done without hair growing all over my body. Jesus christ. At least I'm not as hairy as one of my friends. He's a ******** RUG, I swear! xd ), but it's a natural progression and its healthy.
If you didn't go through it, you'd be a squeaky voiced kid all your life, be short, and probably have numerous health defects as a result. o.O;Oh, and you'd never be able to do anything fun. :3 Nor own your own house, drive a car legally, watch whatever movies you like, drink alcohol (if you're into drinking that is), play whatever games you ilke, go and do what you like, earn decent amounts of cash etc...
It does majorly suck about the job thing, though, you could ask them why you didn't get the job. I mean every little bit of knowledge helps. If it's something you can change, you can use that knowledge for the next time you apply for a job.

One of my closest friends died on my birthday four years ago.
Then another one of my friends died a week ago, and another one is in the hospital.
I swear, no one likes me to celebrate my birthday in peace. =/
ANYWAYS.
The whole girl thing. You can still focus on a girl and and school at the same time.
I have a wonderful boyfriend and I am still in the top 20 of my school.
The trick of the matter is to find someone who you really connect with, not just one you find "attractive", and please don't hop around girlfriends, because that's not a good thing for school work, because you'll be down all the time.
It's fine to have an interest in the opposite sex, just don't get all stressed out about it. Take chances!
School is mondo important to me, but I still have a boyfriend. It's all about managing how you handle situations. =D As kit said, don't miss out because you'll end up regretting it.

That was a dumb reason to give it to a person with less experience.
Is your school getting certified again soon? That may be a reason to hand the job over to an intern. It's a whole "let's show the accreditation board that "we know how to run a business -- and can actually train someone"
Our school is getting certified this upcoming week, and many people got fired from stage crew jobs to let in interns.

Holy ********. That's horribibble! Damn, everyone I know has had a friend die, except me...unless you count the goldfish and the hamster. I miss my hamster. Oh, and the squirrel...and the hedgehog...and the birds and the dog...my aunt's cat (except I didn't like that thing, we called it the demon cat) Damn. I've only known animals that died.

Tell you what, if the N00b screws up on something, then what you gotta do is save the day out from under him! Show off your superior skillz! That way, you'll prove to everyone that you're much more suited for the job!

lol, We have had many pets. The majority of the cats and dogs we had to give away, but the others...well, I feel bad for the kid who digs in the back yard of those homes sweatdrop

same here my birthday is on 9/13 and you know what happened two days befor my b-day on 9/11.... yeah I also had surgery on my birthday too why is it that birthdays are bad times? well I hope you feel better soon kira
