So yesterday on FFXI... I got to finally do mission 5-1, Darkness Rising. So my static friend Xandora and I sat in Jeuno shouting for help.. Eventually getting a party of 6. Me, the level 52 RDM. Xandora, the level 51 WHM. Shueiki, the level 61 Japanese BLM ((Tarutaru.. He was adorable ;_; )). Buckymac, the level 47 MNK.. A little low but we managed. Diego, the level 54 NIN, the tank. And Indestructable the level 60 SAM.
So there we had it, a pretty decent party set up! So then, off we go.. Xandora Teleport Vahzl'd us to Xarcabard and we head through to the Glacier.
Even at our levels we had to keep Sneak and Invis up.. Well, Shueiki and Indestructable were alright.. The rest of us needed it. They were all EP mobs but we didn't want to be bothered, we wanted to get to Fei'Yin.
So finally we get there.. It looks like a Crag.. Zone in for a Cutscene and we see the infamous Lion.. I like her hair.. ;_; So we wander around and eventually find the Burning Circle type thing.
Very smexily coloured... I didn't manage to get any screens in battle.. Because, well, it was insane with lag... We went in for the main ghoul, and started kicking his a**, he immediately spawned 8 minions.. Who went for the mages... Luckily, only one death.. Indestructable ate the dirt unfortunately.. s**t happens, we all got Rank 5-1 done. ^^.
So after a 20 minute break and a member swap, we got on to 5-2. Buckymac was deemed too low and offered to leave so we could get someone else. We were joined by Invincable the level 59 DRK. So we buy some potions and a few ethers.. Stock up and then head off to Xarcabard again.
This time, off to Castle Zhavl Baileys. I thought the lights were pretty so I screened them ^^;. And the Demons were just.. Phroawr... Evil looking or what? I'd never seen a Demon before so I was like 'fomg' o_o.. This time we had a level 75 BRD leading us.
So once in, we get going.. ******** this place is lovely... I asked if the Shadow Lord was taking lodgers ;_; Apparently not ;_;
Outside, we buffed and went through our stratagy and tried relaying it to Shueiki.. Bless.
Diego was going to tank it the whole way, Invincable voking when his shadows were down. I was going to do my usual of Refresh and Debuff until the Shadowlord changed to his Physical absorb form, when Shueiki and I had to nuke him. Xan, of course, did her usual of keepig the party healed up and such ^^;. Once we were all buffed, we went in and watched the scene.. His room is like a DJ booth.. XD. It was great.. The jokes that were spawned form that.. XD. Hodear.. So after the CS, we buffed everyone up and rested.
He's a big boy... If you can see him.. The pictures aren't too clear because it was night time. So we start.. It all goes fairly smoothly until he gets down to about 20% health... He suddenly went insane with the AoEs.. The tank ate the dirt, we were trying to cure ;_; Since I'd converted, I was low on HP when the next AoE rolled around.. So I hit the floor soon after, delevelling to 51. I don't mind about that. That left Idestructable, Invincable, Xandora and Shueiki.. Poor Xan was next to go, just before the CS.. ((You fight him once, there's a cut scene, then again.)) So to cut a long story short, the next screen I managed to get:
It was rather entertaining.. We all got transported out of the field and just.. Collapsed on each other. XD. Though annoyed, we were raised by the BRD and rested off our weakness. DJ Lordi was goin' down..
So back in again we went, now more aware of what it was like.. We all lived pretty well. I gave Xan my Ether since I could convert and we started again. So this time, it all went smoother.. Shueiki killing the first form with a well timed Freeze.. So we were all in the peak of health for the second fight, Xan running a little low on MP but I kept her refreshed as best I could.
Round 2 came round, I hit Chainspell and nuked like no tomorrow. Indestructable also 2 houred..
And between us, we cut him down pretty easily.. After the CS, we exited the battlefield.. ASnd to our surprised, were greeted with:
'You have broken the current time record for this battle! New record, 8 minutes 43 seconds.'
We were all ecstatic.. We weren't expecting to break anything! ^^ But all very proud, infact it's in my Bazaar comment. XD. So after getting back to Jeuno, we rushed to our home nations.. Shueiki leaving because it was infact 6am in Japan.. I felt bad ;_; But he was lovely! Bless. After obtaining Rank 6, we all parted ways... Despite the death, I think we did pretty durn good!
This is on Phoenix, by the way.. Just felt like sharing ^^;

I beat mission 5-1 last night. >.> Set-up was this:
BRD/WHM
WAR/NIN
PLD/WAR
SMN/WHM
RDM/BLM
MNK/WAR
We did well. Horde Lullaby wasn't half as effective as I expected it to be, so I just improvised by kiting and occasionally stopping to get a Lullaby in to buy some time and keep hate on them. No idea how the actual battling went on, since I was tied with the stupid mini-skellies.
I was SO relieved when everything stopped and I saw that the mean ol' Lich had fallen.

The mini skellies are hell for us Mages ;_; The poor WHM got ganged up on... I nuked heavily and they ran for me.. Luckily, only one death.. It was fun though ^^; Sleepga didn't stick at all.

Kekeke. First thing I did when I logged in was shout for mission 5-2. First response had a level 73 Summoner and level 73 Paladin in it. Lucky lucky, no? Setup was this: 58BRD/29WHM (Me x3) 73PLD/36WAR 73SMN/36WHM 59MNK/29WAR 58BLM/29WHM 50WHM/25BLM (>.>; Low level, no?) So, we got there, easily taking out the very few things that aggroed us. PLD and SMN got no aggro. Fight went rather smoothly, except the MNK's death. Pictures! >.>  The safe area before the fight.  The b*****d himself.  Aerialblastpwnd  Implosionmonkpwnd

59 PLD/WAR
55 WHM/SMN
52 SMN/WHM
50 BLM/SMN
I (being at a severe level dis-advantage) sacrificed all defense for power, just to break him down >=) And lemme tell you...getting hit as a 45 with Berserk and low def on hurt. Huge time. AoE's hurt too XD We still killed him pretty easy and missed the record by 13 seconds gonk Once I'm 50 I'm gonna help my friend with hers, and if we do HALF as good as we did before, We're gonna beat Pandemonium's record blaugh

i beat shadowlord a while back...
BLM 51(me)
BLM 54
PLD 60
RDM 65
WHM 55
MNK 60
ok i want to show screenshots but i never tooked any while fighting shadowlord as i don't want to mess up
we were at the gate to battle shadowlord and only 5 of us were able to get in(the pld couldn't get in...) and out of all else before we even started to go.. many others said that the pt has a low percentage of beating as a full pt already...
my party decided to give it a shot anyways since we are already in there. rdm had to be tank since the pld wasn't in there so we buffed up.... the shadowlord attacked the rdm while the blm and i nuked the heck out of shadowlord........ then the AoE came...... it was uhhh scary........ so the blm and i started using manafont and casting all the spells we can..... eventually both of us died .... rdm and whm was close to also...... at about 1/4(its a guess it might be lower) MNK used his hundred fist and it finally killed the shadowlord

Sinatin Buckymac is in my LS I knew him since he started the game, he is really nice hehe ^^; And I also Know Invicable and Indestructable. They are both IRL friends so its really funny to see them argue in battle about certain things when they are really right next to eachother ^^;

They are both IRL friends so its really funny to see them argue in battle about certain things when they are really right next to eachother ^^;
