RULES
— Do not post in this journal without permission. If your character has a gift or a note for Rue, simply PM it to me. Generally, I will post it in his journal when the timing is convenient, so I can fit it in properly.
— Roleplay respectfully. There's nothing I hate more than godmodding and powerplaying. Minor powerplay (such as anticipating my characters' action) might be acceptable, particularly if our characters know each other well, but don't count on me letting things slide.
— Rue is not for sale. He is my baby. Don't ask. It's a dumb thing to ask.

Personality — Rue is an enthusiastic, bright little boy. He seems to have a bit of a penchant for mischief, though, and gets himself into trouble pretty quickly. Quick to become cross, he can flicker rapidly between happy and grumpy and back again, but nothing seems to faze him overmuch. Overall, he’s really settled down well with Callisto and is very curious about these newcomers to the family.

Personality — Unlike the vast majority of Yuan-Ti, Callisto has scorned an alignment with evil and is a generally neutral fellow, but he is mildly reclusive and has, though he’d never admit it, a general anti-human bias. He generally dislikes people, particularly those who treat him differently due to appearance. He currently works as an apothecary (and dabbles in black magic on the side) and lives in the flat above his shop with several lizards and about fifty deadly snakes. He likes children well enough, more than adults, and generally seems happy enough to spend time with them.
History — Calliso’s childhood was spent pretty uneventfully, in a small family of pureblood Yuan-Ti living in the midst of a large human city. His parents owned a small but widely-known apothecary, and they never wanted for business. Prejudice and discrimination were reasonably low to the snake-people, and Callisto grew up well schooled in the arts of the apothecary and magic as well as the lore of his people. An incident in adolescence led to his accidental killing of a fellow member of his species in protection of a human—a base perversion of his species’ nature that led to a choice: he could accept banishment and be locked off from his own world forever, or he could choose death.
Callisto chose banishment. He was sent through a dimensional fold and emerged in a world called Gaia, a world populated with enough strange people that he didn’t have to worry too much about his appearance. He bummed about for a year or so before putting his parents’ teachings into work and setting up shop as an apothecary and basic mage. Twenty years later, he adopted a small child named Ruenheim.
