I've been playing flute for several years, but at my school flutes cannot play in jazz band. I asked my band director if I could participate next year, and she said she'll need a new tenor. Not only will I be in jazz band, but my grade will move up to a 100! If I can get a mouthpiece, I'll be able to start lessons next week!

Awesome! Sax's fingerings are pretty similar to the flute's, so the mouthpiece will be the real difficulty. Good luck!
I'm primarily a flute too, and I learned trumpet for jazz band! I really don't get why flutes aren't jazz instruments though. They can definitely do amazing jazz.
