Jaelle sat at her desk, long slim fingers drumming along the top of the wood as she glanced at the clock on her laptop once again. The reconstruction of her office was going well, enough so that she could hold sessions in it once again, when the workers weren't around. Tuesdays regularly sheduled for Tabitha, and so the redhead was here as well, sitting in her customary seat.
Of course, they hadn't had much of a session, really. Considering that last Tuesday a spacepod had come crashing into the spacious room. The younger woman had arrived only a short time ago, bringing with her the freakish but happy 'Zak'. Themis had also been dropped off earlier, with a comment from Aishe about a young man, apparently an alien as well, who knew something about these pods. His name was Archie, and he was running late. Her younger sister had told her he would be there at about 1:00pm, which was the exact time of Tabby's appointment.
Themis, currently, was sitting on the floor, a large college textbook spread open before her. "BIOLOGY" read the cover. One couldn't be sure if she was reading it or not [she was a baby after all], but in actuality... She was. The visor she had in place of eyes was scanning the text and translating it into one she could read. Thank avalean that it had come along with her during her transformation! However, other than telling her a thing or two about the animals on this planet, and the primitive scientific ideas these people held, it was all review.
She was staunchly ignoring Zak, who had been carried into the room approximately two minutes beforehand.

Her hands tightly clutching the arms of the chair she was sitting in, Tabitha looked around the office, a sour look upon her face. She bitterly noted that the reconstruction seemed to be proceeding nicely. Dammit. The red-headed women had hoped that her sessions would be canceled for a while, considering how difficult it would have been for Jaelle to "counsel" if debris were scattered about the room. But no. The counselor had obviously seen to the prompt reconstruction of her office, which meant Tabitha was stuck with the pointless sessions, and as a consolation prize, she had even won a freak of a baby! What a winner.
"You're a damned cruel person, you know? Saddling that little freak with me. I don't even know what in the ******** he is! All he does is stare with that s**t-eating little grin of his," she said, and though they were the first words that she had spoken since she had entered the room, it was clear who she was talking about.
Zak, the subject of Tab's ranting, was also sitting on the floor, his "s**t-eating grin" directed towards his feet for now. They weren't half-bad once you got used to them, he supposed, making them curl inwards. He could also make his new wings move and they made a rather magical buzzing sound! His tail.. well, there was still some work to be done concerning that.
Now if he could only get Theron-Themis to move. He turned his gaze toward her, the grin leaving his face. She hadn't even acknowledged that he was here! Didn't she want to talk to him? This Gaia-place was strange, yes, but just because they were in a new place with new bodies didn't mean they had to ignore each other! Maybe if he spoke first, she would respond! But all that ever came out when he tried to talk were "pbbft" noises.
Why is she ignoring me? Why is she ignoring me? Whyissheignoringme, he thought, continuing to look at her.

Lateness was a common problem among Gaians who chose to remain watchless. Archie stepped off of the bus where he had been directed to, and looked around for a clock of some sort. Failing to find one, he picked a direction and started down the street. Luckily it was the right one, and several minutes later he was entering the office of Dr. Jaelle Grastari. So official! Maybe the criminal this Dr. Grastari had claimed would have an actual chance at reformation.
He lingered outside the door for a bit, long enough to hear the tail end, the middle and most of the beginning of Tabitha's string of baby-hatred. Archie frowned. Any kid left with her probably wouldn't fare so well. He knocked.
"Um... excuse me?" he said to the door. "I'm here to see the doctor?"

The secretary had been informed of Archie's meeting, and therefore had said nothing to the poor man when he'd walked in, looking confused. According to Jaelle, it was personal, not business, and therefore nothing for the desk clerk to be concerned about.
Jae, sending Tabitha a look accented by a elegantly raised eyebrow, was stopped from replying by Archie's words. Shutting the top of her laptop, her low, soothing voice drifted through the room. "Come in, Mr. Saturn." There were plenty of comfortable chairs in the room.
Themis, brows twitching in irritation as the corners of her mouth pulled even farther into a scowl, angrily turned a page. WILLYOUSTOPTALKING.I'MREADING.YOUARESOIRRITATING. Her thoughts were annoyed as she continued to read and not look at him. Why was he yelling so loudly, and why weren't those blathering gaians doing anything about it?
