That's fine Suma! I don't know how long I'm gonna be away cuz of x-mas (office has to close) and I'm not even sure if I'll be able to post the days I'm gonna be gone or what.
Now, sticking to the thread's subject, I like to point out that I've been recalling certain things about heaven that we may chat about.
For example, I remember that someone told me that heaven could be different for everyone. Could this be true? Like if you follow Hinduism, yer after life is gonna be different than mine cuz we don't believe in the exact same things. I do wonder though, if this is right, what kind of afterlife could await those who don't believe in God or anything related? What's that called? Atheism, I think.... neutral
Opinions? Comments? Go ahead and post why doncha!?

everyones afterlife is different of course my after life and your after life would be very different, its all based on the priciples of karma, dharma and what we do in this life as its all different from person to person.
I am not sure what happens to an athestic (not sure if thats correct word) one who does not beleieve in God i guess as a Hindu we just accept and love everyone regardless and show compassion. I am probably going off topic but yea hope it kinda makes sense lol.

So yer saying that if there's someone who doesn't believe in God and he/she ends up at heaven's gates, that person will be welcomed anyway? Well, as long as they weren't evildoers, of course.
I'm not exactly very knowledgeable in the principles of Karma, Dharma and Greg (I made a funny) but it seems to me that if there is a heaven for everyone, then those who do not believe in God might get a very different kind of heaven too. Or maybe, just maybe, their existence will just stop completely. If that's the case, what happens to their soul? This is becoming more philosophical every time, he-he. sweatdrop
I wish someone else would come and post here. It's basically just me and Suma. Not that it's a bad thing, I'm just saying... mrgreen

yeah i was wondering if others wanted to join in the conversation too.
As for a soul i mean i dont really know i beleive that we are just people in a body form but were more then just the body and when we die the body goes away but the soul still stays.

Just wishing won't make people come and post, we should PM some members but the question is... who?
I'm not entirely sure I really got what you were trying to say there Suma. Care to explain in a different way? neutral
I was also wondering, shouldn't the thread about "The Soul" be in this sub-forum as well? I should probably ask Mel...

Let me think
1.) What to you think Heaven's Gate/The Heavenly Doorway is?Just as it says, a doorway
2.) Can the Heaven's Gate/Heavenly Doorway and Heaven be glimpsed from Earth?Maybe not from earth but maybe the edge of the universe
3.) What do you think of Heaven and what do you think it will be like? I'm not even sure ther is a heaven, if there is then it would maybe be your own little world. A place made especially for you. A fantasy where anything is possible, where you can have whatever you want
4.) What are your perceptions of Heaven in the worlds of fantasy? In stories I have read, I think that their perceptions might be on to something.
5.) How do you perceive a tranquil afterlife?A place with friends, where you are who you want to be, it would be made just for you.
I'm honest in the way i'm answering these questions, forgive me if i offend somebody

With regards to the doorway, I don't think of a literal wooden or plastic door. Something much grander. When I see an opening in the clouds and the sun's rays filter through, especially at sunrise or sunset, it looks like an opening to Heaven to me.
When I look at the sky at such times, sometimes it looks like a landscape up there. To me anyway.
I think that with your idea of Heaven being somewhere where you want to be, and being someone you want to be is probable. Personally, I am a Christian, but from some books about Christianity and God that I have read suggest that this sort of thing is possible. If that is true, I wish to end up in the world I created for my writing, and to be born as a particular character.

Hmm, to be reborn as a particular character in your stories? That doesn't sound bad at all! The question is, who would I choose? There's so many characters in my stories that I would have a hard time figuring out which one I would like to incarnate, you know?

Good for you! At least you have someone in mind. Like I said, a lot of my characters are great so I'm having a really hard time choosing only one.

I'm reviving this topic, if that's alright with you...
1.) What to you think Heaven's Gate/The Heavenly Doorway is? I've never imagined there would be one. But if I had to say what I think it is, it would be a huge golden gate. It would be made entirely of swirling patterns, with tiny gaps between each swirl to let sunlight filter through. In the centre, would be a silver, winged padlock with a sapphire orb. The orb would inspect the soul, and then, if the soul was deemed worthy, the padlock would fly away and the gates would open to heaven... you know, considering the detail I imagined it with, I might actually think there is one after all!
2.) Can the Heaven's Gate/Heavenly Doorway and Heaven be glimpsed from Earth? I don't know why, but I've always thought that animals could see heaven, but humans couldn't. It might be because animals can't do as much wrong as humans; they just follow their species instincts. But humans can kill for amusement (I don't know why people do it, but they do) and betray people and and bully and hurt and lie... animals are much more pure than we are, really.
3.) What do you think of Heaven and what do you think it will be like? Now, this... I've always had several different ideas about Heaven. When I was younger, I always thought it was just clouds, with fountains and angels. But then again, I'd always thought that God was a puff of smoke with eyes and a mouth... Now, I've thought of it as a, sort of, parallel universe to ours. Like, it's the same place, just with angels. And I've always thought that all the houses would be nice, and there would be nature everywhere and global warming wouldn't exist. and everyone would be nice and happy. Another idea I've had is that Heaven's different to everybody. Like, mine could be the worlds of my favourite fantasy books, and I could meet the characters and everything. Or it could be the world of my novel; with the Lunar Wolves. For someone who loves fish, it could be underwater.
4.) What are your perceptions of Heaven in the worlds of fantasy? Hmm... there are lots of different viewpoints. But, I imagine, that it would always be similar to the real Heaven. Then again, in my novel, Lunar Wolf spirits don't go to Heaven... but that's in my story.
5.) How do you perceive a tranquil afterlife? A place where there are no bullies, everyone is treated fairly and everybody is a nice person. Somewhere where your family cares for you and your friends are always there. I'd also like it to be in a forest; with a waterfall and willow trees and a brook.
I actually don't know what religon to believe in; I don't really believe in anything. I suppose that makes me Athestic? I've never known there was a name for people who don't believe in anything. Well, Hypno, I'm a nice person so I would hope I would be allowed into Heaven. I mean, I don't believe in God but I do believe in Heaven. If that makes any sense?

That's a rather new way to see the pearly gates Vaporeae. I gotta ask though, isn't what the orb does supposed to be carried out by Saint Peter? Or do you suppose they fired his @ss and installed that new system cuz he was being too nice of a guy and allowed a few troublemakers inside? Just kidding... lol
I have to agree with you on the animals thing. Sure, there are some God awful people out there but not all of us are like that. How come the few good ones can't see it?
Those are some neat ideas about heaven. Maybe it changes depending on each person's perceptions...
Yeah, I think that makes some sense yes. I mean, I very much doubt God is so unforgiving that he's gonna let you burn in hell just cuz you didn't believe in its existence. I'm sure that as long as you are a good person and don't hurt anyone, you'll be able to see a good reward after you die. I don't blame you for not believing in anything in particular. I myself didn't for quite a long time during my teen years and I turned out all right. I now believe in God but it doesn't mean I will shun others who do not. You know?

I don't really know much about Saints. Maybe I need to do research since 'When Life Ends' goes into Afterlife.
I don't really know about the really good people. Maybe this reverts back to the previous ideas of it being on a different pane?
Well, I believe that there's a nice place to go after you die. I think I'm just taking after my Mum, she doesn't believe in anything in particular. You know, I was christened because my Dad was a Christian. Does that mean I have to be a Christian? I just don't know what belief would make more sense to me, though I've always liked the idea of being reborn as something else. I've always said that if I was reborn I'd be a dolphin. I love dolphins so much ^-^ .

Maybe you do, maybe you don't; you should be true to yourself so you should only research it if you really want to.
Pane? Is that a typo and you meant to write "plane"? Why don't you know about the really good people?
Well, it's good to know you believe in something. I think it's a bit odd that she doesn't believe in anything but it's not like she absolutely has to. I mean, not everyone needs the same things and you know how miserable some people can feel without religion in their lives, right? You definitely do not have to be a Christian just cuz yer dad is one. You should only remain as one if you like it. He-h,e maybe you were a dolphin in a past life and that's why you love them so much. Dolphins are really cool creatures! 3nodding
