Closed Journal, where Ikari keeps his research notes on mastering techniques, research, and other matters of Ninja Arts, whatever they may be.
Rules: Closed Journal, no posting from outsiders.
It's purpose is mostly to keep track of what "Training Sessions" and In Character work I have put into various techniques and goals.
Notes will be done in IC style, reflecting what Ikari wrote down, rather than just quoting posts he made. There will be timestamps on entries to reflect the dates of IC training/research posts it is related to.
Concept, Idea, and Format are all open to be copied and used at will, if anyone else desires to.
GMs, feel free to peek in regularly, tell me what is possible, probable, or impossible related to his research. Feel free to post anytime such notes and corrections so I can make adjustments to my plans as necessary.

Research, Theory and Goal Entry: Sahcleks
Date: Undeterminable.
I write this down to focus my thoughts. To remind me what it is I wish to accomplish, and to keep from being sidetracked by the lure of other tricks and toys I discover in the course of my research.
The Chuunin Exams revealed a fundamental, tactical liability in my skill set. During the long hours of sleep and wakefulness with nothing else to do my mind replayed over the battles of the exams I had witnessed and participated within.
I found time and again one area in which I was sorely lacking, and would have, had not other events conspired against me, spelled my doom regardless.
Now free from the confines of the hospital bed, and awaiting my new hand, I have delved into the research to correct this.

First Research: Sahcleks
Date: April 25th, Friday.
I have started preliminary research upon the technique. It is... hard. Most of what I have looked at so far does not fit within the scope of the project. It is however a necessary basis I feel.
I have started to look into the basic Chakra Control necessary for this technique. As of right now, I am not sure which signs may or may not be necessary to manifest this technique. It is possible, though unlikely, that it could require none at all. This would be optimal of course. But I have little hope that such will actually be the case.
I started my research in Manual Number 7, Use of Chakra in Physical Activations. Here, in my compilation of techniques related to increased speed, strength, mobility, I believe I will find the basis I need for my new techique.
So far in my research I have yet to hear of anyone trying what I wish to do. But I have highlighted several passages, unrelated normally, each has a part of what I need to accomplish.
I have pressed a charge into my service. A freshly minted Genin who has all of the technique and skill of fresh, green Academy student. As of right now she exists only to serve as my hands, and perhaps a test subject.

Second Research: Sahcleks
Date: April 26th, Saturday
It was time to test. Thankfully I had kept that Spoiled Girl around. She made a decent test subject. Her rookie status apparently scared her into accepting my orders as the "elder" and more experienced Ninja. I doubt I could have asked for better, most others would have questioned the technique, or demanded to know what I was working on and the mechanics.
Praise the Hokages for dropping this ignorant, simple tool, without an ounce of guile, into my laps. One could hardly ask for a better test subject.
I had started with the simplest of situations. A control to test the basic principles in the most ideal situation. Test Subject was placed touching wrist to wrist with me, completely defenseless.
Early signs showed promise. Test Subject complained of Irritation in the Target Area, however, it caused no damage to speak of. Connection was established and held as long as neither of us fought or tried to direct the bond.
When I expanded the test into directional forces, Test Subject resisted. Link was broken. No injury occured to either of us. Link did not flex the slightest.
Obviously there is much work to do. I need to expand the basic principles and take from other arts to reach the desired goal.

Third Research: Sahcleks (Actually RPed in May, but didn't have time to get it posted up before I was yanked away)
Good news. My new hand was finished. The work seemed exceptional, it is hard to believe it is the craft of someone who is just a student. It still does not quite work as I had hoped. There are a few minor glitches I've been assured would disappear with time.
But still, its amazing. It moves just like my old hand did. Though it is quite odd not to be able to truly feel with it. It's like wearing an oven mitt, all the time.
Even better however, a new inspiration came today in a most unexpected form. A strange Sand Ninja had arrived to apparently supervise the work of another. He was a master of puppet tools, quite delicate things really, I had always seen them as just large, blocky, brutal things. I had no idea such small, intricate ones existed.
He gave me a new direction. I had looked at this jutsu from the perspective of physical activations, where as he instead reminded me of the skills of puppetmaster ninja.
If I can somehow manage to merge the two lines of research, I may yet reach my goal. I checked out every Ninja Puppet scroll I could, and have started research and the first level techniques right away.
