Forte had wandered down from the north. She has in the south so often she started to think she might as well live there, but she was happy in her ruin building, she was used to the area, and she didn't have to go to far for food either. She had crossed the bridge and man did the heat shake her a bit, but with that in mind she turned down toward the river to get a drink.

Hirsh was laying down on the bank, some ways upriver. He had a dead rabbit between his paws, half-eaten, a prize from the previous night's hunt. He liked being by the river, or any water source in the South, since it got hot fast. He blinked a little as he thought he caught the scent of a stranger, and peered about.
He finally got up, and stretched, before stepping out into the shallow water, peering around the brush that impeded his vision, taking a look up and down the river.

Forte had placed her paws in the water and she was lapping up the cool water, and blinked. Was she being watched? Her ears twitched, and she sniffed the air, but went back to drinking the water. Maybe it was just another animal...

Hirsh finally spotted the other wolf, and stood very still, just watching her a moment. Just a pup, and a female at that. Where were all the boys in this forest? He didn't know what to do really, and merely hoped she had some adult to look after her. Pups could be clingy, and he had enough trouble keeping himself fed.
He couldn't hold his silence, however, when he began to feel a tickle in his nose, which quickly brought a sneeze. He sighed, and waited to see if she'd hear it or not.

Forte jumped, when the sound of the sneeze reached her and she crouched down with a bit of a growl, and looked around for the source. Her ears perked up and looked over at him. "A deer...?" She saw the antlers first but the body didn't match that of a deer. She raised and tilted her head. "Interesting... never seen that before around here." She said to herself and she stood up again. "Bless you...?"

Hirsh sighed a bit, and sniffled, slinking out into the shallows of the river, in full view of the small female. "Thanks, I suppose." he said, watching her. He'd never seen such a dark colored puppy, but she did have striking markings.
"Sorry if I startled you at all. I thought I heard someone around here. Who are you, then? My name is Hirsh." he said, introducing himself and starting to move a bit closer.

Forte blinked at him and she backed away a little. The antlers looked kind of dangerous. She watched the larger male, her tail hung low, not to sure what to make of him really. "I'm Forte." She started, in response to his question. "I was just getting something to drink, I'm sorry for disturbing you." She lowered her head in a respectful way.

Hirsh watched her through smiling green eyes. She seemed like a wise one, acting submissive and respectful, even if he was just a wandering rogue. "Ah....Forte. I've heard that name before. I do believe I have made the acquaintance of a friend of yours." he said, a sly grin creeping across his maw. "No trouble...it's good to meet you, little one. I hope I didn't disturb you, either..."

Tilting her head a little, he wasn't coming off as aggressive. She nodded to him, "Really?" she thought about who it could have been. She perked her heads up at some and she sat down, her tail slipping her tail around herself. "It's a pleasure to meet you as well. No worries, I'm just around exploring, and the such." She glanced a round a little. "Mind my asking you a question?"

"Yes. Fea, I believe." he replied quickly. He was almost tempted to ask if she was with anyone, but he held back on the question, and nodded as she told him about what she was up to. "I see, very good. Mmm, a question? I don't see why not." he replied, having an inkling about what she was about to ask.

She rubbed her paw against her nose, wondering how to phrase the question, She tilted her head up some look at him. "How exactly, did you come around having ... antlers? I've never seen another wolf like you before." She asked in a soft voice. She was hoping to not come off offensively. They could probably come in handy...
