I think people are blaming too much on the media these days. Parents need to control what their kids watch! Just because a kid watches TV that makes it look like having sex any time is okay, doesn't mean that it is the media's fault if they go and do the same thing. It is the parents' responsibility to either explain to them that some things they see on TV aren't okay in real life, or else don't let them watch it in the first place! IMO, the reason kids today have such loose morals is because their parents do. And do you know why parents can't control their kids? It's because they won't give them a good, old-fashioned BEATING!
Just kidding. ^^ Parents don't discipline their kids enough though.
I also think that loose morals are just an inevitable part of the future. Things will just get worse and worse. That's just how it is, because the human race has become so corrupted.

helo um this is my first comment here...so ims start with the sex issue...yes i believe in our society today 12 yr olds talking about how much they had iz....rediculous..or along those linez...they du break past moralz but th@ iz the past....this iz now and every1 has there own moralz...sum believe th@ it iz alright to hit a women...i dont...duz th@ make me right...no...duz it make him right...no...its all based on our self and society..without society..u most likely cannot show hu u r ....or wat will controll u...influence u...alwayz think wat has the other person lived thruogh...r any of u willing 2 change what u think iz wrong based on society...or the majority of wat society iz....ill admit sumtimez i wood or cannot...@ all...but sumtimez i du...r we willing to change this..start with urself..then around u...be smart about it and let ur viewz spread...then the world..sounz like communismm...then again the thought of communism isnt th@ bad..iif u new its true or original aspect..idk..im sry lolz.. sweatdrop

yes about the media...yes sum part of it can cause wat sum ppl may moraly claim wrong...in the eyes of many yes....these ppl of mass media ....sum du it jus to make $...and they will du anything 2 du th@...otherz actualy want top change things in this world...the majority not but nun the less there r sum...whos 2 say greed is bad...to help the economy ...greed ran this s**t...excuse the language...well there r those hu can donate 2 help the economy...but duz th@ reely help...go out and help these ppl you say need help...those hu "need " to change..if u go out there and say...i want 2 eliminate the getoes..wat will the ppl du...ive seen CEO'S of private companies go out and actualy du this..he said if u guyz stop smoking weed ..i will change this...and he did...but idk if they stopped...lolz ..well not funny but w/e...u get it...may-b...and i no i get off topic so sry...if children wer mature enough to understand that who ever jus broke up with hu evr..isnt gunna help their lives in the end...them may-b...they will change...or may-b they will nver change...possibly spread there intelectual thought to their children....may-b 2 change there viewz..idk im off topic again...sry sweatdrop

I am an older teenager who is still pure as it were; you can blame the lack of morals on many things. However, those kids could have just been saying that to seem chill to their friends. People lie about their sex life all the time to make themselves less ashamed. If anything, you have to question: why are people so ashamed of being a virgin, or of who they've been attracted to? If you blame the media for corrupting kids, then you only have the audience to blame, which is techinically everyone. It is just the times man: we are so sterile, so bored with life that we do what we can to entertain ourselves; even if it is watching softcore porn in an R rated film. I dunno, the sad thing is that I wish i could say it isn't as bad as you think, but i can't. And it isn't just this generation, my mom got pregnant at 16, went to a preggo school, and while their met an 13 year old who had two kids. Two. My mom is like forty now, so this was what, in the seventies/eighties? not so distant.

to Akara: Discipline does not make a child more mature or more responsible. It just makes them afraid of you, and when they can get away, they will run. It is best not to keep them on a leash. The media is only blamed because it is an intangible entity (which we have created). It gives parents a figure to scream at when they should be blaming everything. It is never one particular factor that causes an issue. Its' just everhting.

My mom is like forty now, so this was what, in the seventies/eighties? not so distant. I agree with you there. My mom lost her virginity when she was 15, and my aunt got pregnant at age 16. Both are now in their mid-40s. Plus, people have to remember that in the 1950s (and before) whenever a young girl got pregnant she was usually sent away for a few months so no one would know. It's not something new, it's just not hidden anymore. As for my morality. I'm 19 yrs old, never had a boyfriend, and still a virgin. I think sex is just a natural thing. There's no need to wait for the legal documentation of marriage to have sex. Hell, I don't even like the idea of marriage. Virginity isn't really that much of an important thing to me. If I lose it to some guy who isn't "the love of my life" then oh well. But, I don't really care about things like love or relationships, so that explains why I'm so numb about it.

I agree discipline does not make a child a better person, moral or otherwise.It does make them afraid.. not to take chances.. or sometimes too much discipline can cause a person to go the wrong way.. Talking telling this what can happen and what you should do protect yourself.. And after that is a matter of trust. Its what a person does with information is now his or her responsiblity..and then you have to deal with the fallout..And knowing you will be their helps too without judgement..As for the media parents have to screen what they dont want to watch or watch it together and talk about..

Maybe this is a matter of language, but I don't think morals are just about sex and drugs. It is also about treating other people every day.
I see a problem with that because people do not have respect for each other. Especially younger persons tend to mix up "respect" and "fear". So they think "if I beat one up, he wil respect me", but I think this is wrong. He is not respected he is feared which has less quality, because respect woul will have to earn, but fear can be produced by anyone.
For the sex thing. I don't think that you necessarily must wait for your first sex until you get married. What is important is that you understand the meaning of sex. In my opinion people mix up "sex" and "porn". We are surrounded by porn, naked women in the advertising for noodles... I mean I can understand that in advertisement for underwear... and children think it is the same. A week ago I had a 12-yearold in the jigsaw chat asking me if I could tell him about oral sex and when I did not he started to roleplay-rape my avatar (I won with the power of ignoring him, gwarharharhar)... that was strange...
Short OT. I think the problem is, that you can see a lot of porn, but the responsibility is not told. Every child about 10 knows about sex now, but how many do know how to avoid pregnancy? There are people who think you should drink milk and this would work! But thats another story, End of OT.
When you learn about the meaning of sex you will not have it with every guy around. Someone said that sex should mean "i love you" again (I forgot the nickname) and I totally agree with that.
I lost my virginity when I was 14 that was pretty early and now I think it would not have been too bad if I had waited for some longer, but in the end I am married now with the boy who took my virginity.
And I think this is because I learned that sex is not porn and my mother was always open for any question.
A lot of parents lack this ability. And they change their minds too often. You do not have to hit a child, but if you speak a penalty you must do it. That is what does not work and here in Germany this problem has become entertainment as well. You can see on TV how absolutely horrible children are raised by absolutely horrible parents. A lot of tears. Drama, indeed
