Home Life : A pure blood of an old French line, her mother and father moved to England, wanting a change of pace for a while. She was born on English soil, making her a dual citizen, and she speaks English, French, as well as Catalan, with equal fluency. Her parents chose to stay in England, and have her take schooling at Hogwarts, feeling it would give her a good grounding.
Her father is Jean Paul Volonté, and her mother is Alisane Volonté nee Sagesse. Her mother enjoys singing and making clothing at home, her father is a collector of old brooms and wands. They have a lesser amount of the pure blood snobbery than some, her aunt on her mother's side is married to a Muggle born, and her father's brother is married to a Muggle, and Mellisande has done her best not to let herself be a snob, most especially since one of her cousins on her father's side is a Muggle like her mother.
Diving deeper : When at home, during breaks, Mellisande enjoys singing and dancing, as well as collecting Muggle movies and records, as they amuse her. At school, her specialty is Potions, but she's expressed a desire to use that to open a restaurant when she graduates, as she loves to cook She also is a bit of a fashionista, thanks to her mother's clothing making hobby. She is often seen wearing robes that are... just this side of regulation appropriate, designed by her mother, to class, as she loves the subtle differences in cut and fit.
Out of class hours, of course, she wears unique clothes by her mother with regularity, and has been known to turn a few heads with them, as they are often interesting. She's a charming, and attractive girl, but as yet has expressed no interest in any of the boys or girls at the school in any form save friendship, but she has many friends, and is friendly to all who approach her.

Mellisande stood in her room, pondering what to pack for school. Classes started in 2 days and she had all the required things ready, but what about other things....? She pondered outfits, and selected quite a few, as her mother had placed an undetectable extension charm on her trunk, so she could have most of her wardrobe with her, as well as most of her jewelery, for she loved silvery and gem covered things. Now, though... Personal books... Her posters... and so on. Those were what she was considering. Her space in the Slytherin wing last year had been decorated with photos of her family's summer trip to the Family home in Provence, and then the two weeks in China. What this year, though?
She picked up her album, leafing through it, then finally selected several photos of their time in Austria, Germany, and Norway, then one of her with her horse in France. Then she picked out several posters of that new, Muggle band she'd discovered she liked, the Mismatched Duo, and carefully packed them. She loved the looks she got from the more snobby Slytherins when they saw the Muggle Posters. She then looked around, and selected two stuffed animals, one of a Phoenix and one of a Dragon, that she loved and kept on her bed, and packed them. After a long minute, she moved to her bookstand and selected 5 novels, two lovely, moving Crystal Figurines, and a single, Undying Rose her father had bought her in China, and carefully packed them, the Figurines in special travel boxes. After a long minute, she nodded, then looked to see that Morgath's supplies were packed as well.
Last, she went and checked the front door, and danced. Her new 'toy' was here! It was a gift from her father, a specialized magical device that was designed to read Muggle recording technology without ruining it, so she could listen to her odd music choices and watch her movies when she wanted to. She scooped it up and packed it away, hidden in the special pocket where she kept her gifts for friends she'd gotten on the trip, as well as some gifts to give in case she made new friends, and the all important, well hidden joke items bought at the still run Weasley Wizarding Wheezes. She didn't know who owned it now, of course, no one did. It just, they assumed, kept the name because it was famous. No one had seen a Weasley working there in years, that was certain, but it WAS still there on Diagon Alley.
After looking around one last time, she nodded, and shut her trunk with a smile, and pushed it to the door. Albern, the Family House Elf, appeared. "Please, Albern, take it to the front door? Merci!" She beamed at him, and then went to dinner.
