|| -- Give a Little, Get a Little -- || "When did you get your letter?"
They were arriving at the front door of Ari and Rawiya's hut, and Li was still contently purring and bobbing his head with an unusually playful energy. He was normally quiet, but it seemed that his friend had brought out his more playful side today.
"Just a few days ago," Ari said with a smile as she moved up the steps. Sashta was sitting in the window, peeking out at them lazily. "You needed...uh...beads right? I think I have some of those...." She murmured thoughtfully as she pulled the door open, "You can come in if you like."
Rawiya let the two-leggeds do what they wanted. She was far too busy prancing around the yard. She even started to make noises. A gryphons strange attempts at singing? Maybe.
Tai needed no further invitation than that, smiling as she stepped into the house as invited. She took a reflexive glance around the room, a comforting feeling washing over her silently. The house had a very lived in feel, it seemed nice and cozy, certainly welcoming. It brought a small sigh past her lips.
"Really? That would be very helpful of you, Ari. I'm fairly certain that Tessa has some, but isn't willing to part with those so easily. I couldn't imagine where else I'd get some from here.
Li squawked, pacing closer to Rawiya's neck and carefully wrapping his paws around it to hold on. He was mindful not to use his claws, and purred at her happily again.
"Sure! Any colors you want?" She went over to a small chest that seemed to hold bundles of arts and craft supplies. They ranged from really nice prismas and acrylics to beads and felt you'd get in a toy isle. Seems like Ari liked to order things like this in the mail...either that or she just kept lots of it around from when she moved here.
Ohh! So he was holding on nice and tight now? Rawiya smiled and neighed. They could go faster now! With a rustle of her wings she began to canter along through the yard. It was way faster then the trot, but not unbearably so. It would have been fun for any human riding. Was it the same for Li though? She didn't know, but she was sure enjoying herself!
"Have you any wooden ones? Other than that I really don't think he'll have a prefrence." She smiled.
"Sure do," Ari nodded and sifted around through plastic bags until she found one with wooden beads. She took out one other bag to that had some naturally colored beads in them as well. "Here...how about these...?" She took out two wooden beads and a emerald green colored one along with one that seemed almost a pearly white. She held them out openly to Tahja.
She had a weakness for naturally colored things, and found the beads she was presented to be quite lovely indeed. She was certain that Li would take an intrest in them, and did hope he'd like the colors.
"They're beautiful, Ari, thank you so much!" She smiled, looking up to the young woman as she accepted the donation. "We'll be sure to find something for Rawiya as well. Li will be very happy."
"I'm glad you like them!" Ari beamed brightly. It felt really good to help someone like this. She put the other beads away and closed the box, "Well, whatever you find for her I'm sure she'll love it." Well, she hoped she would anyway. Wiya did have her strange moods, after all. You could never really predict how she would react.
"Come on then," Tai offered, holding out her hand. "We can have lunch while we're there if you'd like? Have you all eaten yet?" She smiled.
"Ah! No I haven't! Do you have any greens or nuts by chance? I'm afraid it'll be all Rawiya will eat," Ari said with a smile as she took Tai's hand in a friendly fashion. Wiya and Li were still outside so they wouldn't be too hard to fetch on the way there.
"Greens is not a problem," Tai chuckled, bemused, returning the gesture-- Ari had actually beaten her to it! "Tessa and I are both health nuts, or so Kyou tells us, though we'll possibly need to rinse the nuts since all we have of those right now are the salted or chocolate type."
"Alright! I'll wash them if you like...save you the trouble," Ari smiled and went with her out of the house. Rawiya was able to slow her canter to a walk as the two guardians came outside. Ohhh, they were back? Were they going to play too? She cocked her head curiously and clicked her beak.
It didn't take them long to reach Tai's abode, she made light conversation as they went, letting them in. Tessa was in the midst of tying her hair back with a hair clamp when they walked in.
"Mmm, hello? You guys some of the neighbors we haven't met yet?"
The albino girl offered a bright smile, tail twitching excitedly.
"Oh...well I suppose you could say that!" Ari said with a smile, offering her hand to the girl, "I'm Ari! Oh...and that back there is Wiya..." She glanced over her shoulder. She hoped Wiya would have the sense to be careful when going into Tai's house...
Rawiya was actually exporing the yard abit first, still dragging Li along on her back for the ride. When she saw she had lost the two guardian's however, she quickly turned round and trotted hastily after them, working up the steps with skill.
"I've heard a lot about you guys," Tessa grinned from her seat.
"Tessa," Tai began with a soft smile. "Ari and Rawiya gave us these beads for Li's list. I thought we might have something lying around the house from their list that they could use."
"Sure," Tessa nodded. "What's on the list?"
Tai turned her gaze to the young woman at her side, moving aside as Rawiya joined them with Li in tow. The little gryphon was holding onto the Zebra-Macaw's neck with a bright expression, clearly enjoying himself.
"Ah well...ribbons...a bracelet...and some twine left I believe," Ari said, clasping her hands in thought. Perhaps she should have brought the list with her...ah well. It was at home on the desk for now...and those three things were more then enough to give them ideas, she hoped.
Rawiya squawked and began to explore the house, moving past Tai, Tessa, and Ari without more then a second glance. Oooo, a new place! Was this where Li lived? She clicked her beak and glanced back at her friend.
Li squawked back in return and bobbed his head in what looked like a nod. He didn't know what was on her mind but rather, was just excited to show his eager reply.
"Ribbons and a bracelet? The ribbons are easy, how many do you need?" Tessa smiled, getting up from her seat.
"Ah...I need 3 if I remember correctly," Ari replied after a short pause. She looked rather relieved that the items weren't any trouble. After all, the beads she had provided hadn't been a problem.
"Cawwww!" Rawiya replied happily and she bent down her head, inspecting the items of the house. She began to turn over pillows and move around cases and anything else she could get her beak into. What a troublesome girl~!
"Yeah! Hang on a second," Tessa reached up, untying a teal colored ribbon from her hair. Ther were two more in her room, and after approaching Rawiya for a closer look she seemed to settle on something, disappearing down the hall to get two more from her room. She returned with them afterwards and handed all three to their guest.
Ari took them with a surpised smile, "Ohh~! They're lovely! Thank you so much!" She then looked at Tahja, "Perhaps we should make dinner now? I'll help out." She went to the kitchen area not long after, leaving Wiya to explore as she pleased. Seemed it was going to be a pleasent night with enjoyable company. She wouldn't miss it for the world.
The End.

|| -- A Helping Hand -- || Entry Dear Journal,
Today I got a letter! Now, I know this doesn't seem strange or anything, but it wasn't from Nicki or even from any of the islanders I've met before. It was from someone named Nehanda. It sounds like she must be an aerandir...because she said her "guardian" normally uses the twine she provided for Wiya. Wow! It really made me realize that Wiya is going to grow eventually old enough to write and well...be independent. I of course knew about that already, but it's just...more real now, I guess.
Now that means all I have left is the bracelet I can't believe we are so close! Well, I do hope things will continue to go smoothly. I should see who I can help with quests as well. I saw quite a few people with lists at the lodge. Mm...I know I have metal lying around here somewhere and I'm sure I have some fabric too. I'll just have to send those off to those who need them!
Ohhh, I'm so excited!
-Arianna Keeylis Put in a small wound pile next to the feathers is a piece of twine. It seems to be blue with silver coating rapped around it.At letter is also posted upon Ari's small cork board above her desk.Letter Dear Ary- We haven't actaully met, but I saw your list in the Lodge and hoped that I would be able to help Rawiya achieve Child Stage. Foenix (my guardian) uses this twine to wrap presents, so it's sort of special. I hope it will work for your needs! ~Nehanda

|| -- Gift from a Friend -- || Entry Dear Journal,
Wow! I have everything now! It's amazing how fast that went, especially since some of the items were rather random. I have to thank Wyv for the last one...she sent a pretty blue bracelet over with a letter!
Swimming lessons do sound like something I should let Wiya take once she's able...she'd probably have tones of fun with Makai too! And we live so close I'm sure it'd be easy. Once Wiya's grown I'll have to go over and see Wyv and talk to her. Maybe we could work something out...I bet I could watch the two of them sometimes or something in return.
Anyway, best be off to get everything ready.
-Arianna Keeylis Now placed next to the feathers, twine, and other items is a bracelet of sodalite beads. It shines in pretty shades of dark and light blue in the fading sunlight. Now tacked up next to the other letter is one from a familiar person living next door. The Letter Hey Ari, sorry for the rush. I was all set to haul Makai off for another swimming lesson, when he reminded me about the bracelet. He's really eager to have some more Aerandir at the same age stage (?) to play with. He picked the bracelet out himself. Said it'd match her feathers nice. I think he's just vain over the color blue.
Once 'Wiya's... bipedal... we should have a BBQ or something to celibrate. Baring that, I could add her to the roster for swimming lessons. Not much else to do on an island.
- Wyv and Makai. [there is a hand print next to Makai's name. It seems he's not yet learned how to write.]
