http://www.Jayski.com/cupnews.htm-According to jayski, word around the gibbs campfire is that Stewart wants to be released from his contract a year early and sources comfirm that he will likely fill the seat of the 70 car and recieve 50% of ownership for the team, this may be due to stewarts strong relationship with chevy, but i'm a little suprised that he would go to a second tier team. your thoughts?

I don't know. On one hand, he's won 2 championships with Gibbs, and has 32 wins. Something tells me he's not done there yet. But, on the other hand, he's apparantly "excited" about the idea of owning a team. Plus if he goes to Haas Racing for his next contract, it's not like those guys are gonna be a second teir team much longer. Stewart, for some reason or other, commands a big enough fan base, that he would bring in big bucks for that team easily. That means R&D money for them to make their teams better. And aside for ole Smokey's attitude problem on the track, he is one hell of a driver. That would help that team a lot too.

Do you think Home Depot would follow him? They've been together for so long, but on the other hand, Dale Jr. left Budweiser.

I hope The Home Depot stays with him. But if anything, I think he still has another championship with gibbs.

yeah, just like kyle busch was confident he would be at Hendrick and everyone else who've left. I think stewart leaves to chevy, whether it's RCR, Haas, or DEI, i do not know.
