Officers

Seated officers (席官, Sekikan?) hold ranks from 3rd Seat to 20th seat. For instance, Hanatarō Yamada is Division 4's 7th seat and leader of the Fourth Division's 14th Advanced Relief Team. While the single digit ranks are usually only assigned to a single officer, the lower ranks will often be held by several. The bulk of each division is made up of an unspecified number of unseated Soul Reaper, roughly equivalent to enlisted soldiers.. Rukia Kuchiki of Division 13 is one notable example of an unseated Soul Reaper, among other named, but otherwise minor, tertiary characters. (wikipedia.org)
