We took down Ahune but he didn't spawn the chest after dying.
About a week after that Rokatoro had been given a cape because that's what was supposed to have dropped that kill apparently. Yet just a few days after that I got that message.

As for the exp thing, I obviously didn't really get that since it probably would have shot me straight to 70. Still very amusing that the thing had said we got that much exp for no reason at all.
