Has anyone done a cleanse (any form) and can describe their experience? I've been thinking lately about doing a liver cleanse, but it's recommended to do a kidney cleanse first.

I'm just fishing for opinions at the moment.

I've looked into that as well but can't find any that I frankly understood how it worked.

Yes! Do it! You may not feel well in-process for a few days, but things are much better afterward. The really nice thing about it is that you generally drop a few pounds, too. Valerie Saxion has all kinds of interesting information on her website---go to "On Air", click on "Show Notes". I think it's www.totalhealthlabs.net. Jordan Rubin's books are very helpful, too, just for regaining and maintaining good health. Check out his story, and "before and after" pictures. His website is www.biblicalhealthinstitute.com.

You might also want to try fasting one day a week, just healthy liquids, especially if you're "coming down with something"---it really helps.

Yes. I used a 3-component product by Gaia that I got at the health food store. It's basically an anti-parasitic herbal blend, probiotics, and digestive enzymes. You can get at least two of the steps separately, and I've know people to use step 3 because it contains several herbs used to metabolize sugars (in fact, they are the standard treatment for diabetes in India and some parts of South America).

I take milk thistle at least once a month for a week to clear caffeine, etc., from the liver. I get the milk thistle from the health food store and pack my own capsules because I think it's fresher---I can smell it!

To Update:

I started drinking dandelion tea today, which is supposed be good for detoxing yer liver. (so you can drink more beeer.)

It's a very strong taste, only made palatable with honey and lemon juice. At least for now. I might grow to like it but it's definitely "ew medicine" at the moment.

I've been looking up more info on liver detox and I'll prolly augment the tea in a day or two.

I have two weeks off in SIX WORKING DAYS ZOMG!!! and I'm going to go on a crash cleanse. I've had an aunt that did the master cleanse (water, lemon juice, cayenne pepper and maple syrup only) and she looks fabulous afterwards. I unfortunately tried, but I was in school and I just couldn't do it. I had such problems concentrating. Plus, I want to gain weight, not loose.

I've done the Herbal D-Tox by Wild Rose and didn't feel anything different during or afterwards. It was a bit disappointing.

This time I'm not going to augment it with supplements - just choosing foods wisely. Any suggestions or tips? I'll probably follow the recipes on this page here

And I'm a HUGE fan of dandelion tea. It's nummy. It is quite strong, so I reuse the same bag throughout the day.
