So, I have a question! 3nodding
After playing some harvest moon, then coming back to the real world where you're stressed out about work/school/college/exams....has it ever seemed like an attractive career choice to actually run away and be a farmer?
Yes, I realise harvest moon isn't exactly realistic (<- slight understatment ^^)
....but now one of my secret goals is to own some chickens when I'm older redface
So am i crazy or does anyone else get this too? whee

Nope I haven't. I get Harvest moon mixed up with reality if I've been playing too much. As well as my younger sister who is also into the series.
I do want ot someday try the recipes though.... gonk
I'm still trying to figure out if they will ever fry their chicken! xd

I live on something of a ranch/farm, and I'll be blunt, it's NOT easy at all. It's really rewarding, but not easy. For one thing, mucking out the stalls is a pain and a half and smells in any season but winter (It's still a pain in winter, but the manure's frozen so it's not smelly anymore.)
Chickens are good animals though. :3 Good eating, good amusement, and they lay eggs if you learn about em and how to take care of the chickens.
Just avoid getting a goat unless you can have a pen to keep them in. they will eat ANYTHING, and attack anyone who is not the designated "Mom." It's not fun to deal with a jealous goat. XP

XP hehe dont worry, i know real life farming isn't easy like harvest moon xd Never lived on a farm but i worked at a stables for a bit....that was pretty smelly at times ^^ ooh and i know what you mean about the goat...i used to work in an animal shelter that had one, and it was cute but...you couldn't go anywhere near it because it would just head-butt you. And if you leaned on the side of then pen and didn't watch what you were doing, it would start chewing your jumper stressed

My mother has a one-horned goat, so it's a little more painful when she jabs. I've learned to pretty much give her a kick when she starts acting up, or throw her to the ground to show that I'm bigger and the boss. It doesn't always work, but sometimes it's enough to give me a reprieve.

XP Try having a baby ram who's convinced you're his mother, and follows like a puppy. xd Farm life is difficult, but I honestly would wither if I couldn't do it. In fact, my husband and I need to get off our @$$es and finish clearing the garden or we're not planting vegetables until Fall! rofl (Still can't get him to shovel manure though. sweatdrop )

Ah fuzzy animals. Always annoyingly entertaining.
And I have to ask, where'd you get that card in you sig? :3 It's cute!
Our weather is being bipolar, and we have nothing to keep the goat or the horse from eating anything we plant, so I haven't even been able to plant flowers yet. XP

As much as I've played Harvest Moon, it's never really been an idea of mine to actually own a farm. But I did come up with an entire "You know you've been playing too much Harvest Moon when..." list. Go see my topic and you'll know what I'm talking about. xD
