these three cropped versions to give viewers a sense of the scale i'm working on with this. you can also see the areas that gets the most lovin' from me (the hair). i think i was looking up my little ponies or something that night and it carried over to my work.

i got stuck on this one area for awhile. frills are one of the easiest and also the most difficult things for me to draw. it's hard to find the middle line in being loose enough so they don't look forced but also controlled so they're not just arbitrary lines. i had one of the harry potter movies playing in the background while i was fiddling with the frills...and from the beginning to the end i was absolutely stuck. i think in the end (right before i went to bed) i threw down some lines and i was a little happy with it. eventually i just went from there and figured it out :3 i also switched the line colors back to black since the light blue was throwing me off. i'm not sure if i'll go back to lighter lines once i'm finished coloring.

here's my current progress so far. you can see i'm procrastinating with the bottom set of frills. i was actually debating in whether or not to keep them but i found that without them she looks like she's in a giant onion, heh. also changed the background color to be lighter, i'm not sure if i'll be keeping that. in the meantime it helps me when i'm picking out colors because i'll match it to this bg color (one of the reasons why i avoid coloring characters on pure white bgs).

crawling at a snail's pace with this one. i've been too busy and lacking in both free time and energy to put more effort into this. eventually it'll get done unless i get bored with it or something.
using just ol' photoshop to do this.
