Zweix eyed the less-than-ideal materials, then her brother, then back to the stick and bandages. His assurances meant little to her, but in all honesty, what else did she have? It was better than nothing, and Kyo was right: if it didn't get set soon, then it would start healing, and if she wanted any chance of fighting, or doing much of anything, then they'd have to break it again, which would be rather unpleasant.
"...Alright. Just be careful," she finally responded hesitantly, watching his every little move. Even though he was her brother, it didn't mean that she wasn't wary of her tender leg. She didn't exactly have a reason to trust others based on relation anymore.

Kyo noticed his sister's expression and smiled. "If you went to any other non-magical Kitsu, it would probably be the same scenario." He placed a paw lightly on her leg. It was a clean snap, and all he'd have to do was pull it straight.
"Well this is obviously going to hurt a lot," he said, tapping his chin. "I don't have anything for the pain." He didn't want his sister to go through any more pain that night, but it was apparently inevitable. With a sigh, Kyo placed his weight on Zweix's hip to keep her still, and grasped her foot with both paws. "Ready when you are."

Zweix tensed when he touched her, but reminded herself that doing so would not help with him setting the break, and forced herself to relax, her expression still somewhat fearful as she regarded the situation. She knew it would hurt, and she knew it was the only way, but it still didn't make her feel any better.
Meekly, she nodded.

"Alright then. On the count of three." He made sure he had a firm grasp...
Before pulling sharply as he clearly said, "One!" He'd meant for it to be an element of surpise, but didn't stop to see Zweix's response as he quickly splinted the limb and wrapped it tightly with the cloth. With a small grin, Kyo tied a knot and snipped off the extra piece, shoving it back into the box and shutting it.
"And there we go." The Kitsu hopped off the sofa and went off to return the first-aid kit to its previous spot. "You'd best sleep here for the night," he called from the other room. "I don't think I can carry you upstairs to bed in your condition." He returned, only to move towards the stairs. "I'll get you your blanket."
Kyo mounted the steps, sighing inwardly at having successfully set a broken limb for the first time. His mind wandered back to their father as he walked down the hallway. No doubt Xelon would return, whether it was tomorrow or some days later. He only hoped Zweix would be alright when that day came.

Zweix prepared to count along with Kyo, but felt the snap far too early, letting out a cry of protest when he straightened her leg before expected. She pouted, but otherwise appeared unharmed, still watching him critically as he bandaged the wound to the stick. Despite everything that had happened, she still had to see it done right.
"I don't mind staying down here," Zweix replied, laying back into the comfortable cushions of the couch with a tentative test of her lying position, making sure not to put weight on her leg. Having accomplished that, she watched her brother ascend the stairs, her eyelids growing heavier with each step that he climbed. After it all had calmed down, exhaustion swept in on her, and she wasn't even awake by the time her brother had a chance to return. She simply lay there, a content look on her face, her slow breathing causing a whistling noise as she exhaled that could almost act as her snore.
What a shame she wouldn't be that calm awake for quite some time.
