As you may know, during this past week there was a sold-out, standing-room-only BSG concert in Hollywood. Bear McCreary, his brother and several other musicians were there to play BSG music, and James Callis (Baltar) hosted.
And here are some clips! biggrin Sound and video quality isn't the greatest, seeing as how all these videos were filmed surreptitiously and without permission. XD

This is a lovely mix of the various versions of "Wander My Friends" that have appeared over the years. I love this, because it's one of my favorite themes in all of BSG, and this is pretty much the ultimate version. biggrin I wish I could have been there to hear it in person!

Raya Yarborough (the female vocalist who has appeared in, well, all new BSG cues that call for a female vocalist) sings "Lords of Kobol". Again, this is the best version of the song yet, and it's fun to watch the musicians jump and headbang on stage. biggrin In case you're wondering, Bear is the one on the right with the long hair, who plays the synth and directs the orchestra.

"A Distant Sadness"- the first cue from the Season 3 soundtrack, and another one featuring Raya. You can hear a few recurring BSG themes in this one. I love the way Bear uses the duduk in his music, and it's very prominent here.

About a minute of "Roslin and Adama". I wish I could find a longer and better-quality clip, because this is my favorite BSG song ever, old and new, and this version of the song is divine. Ah well, I'll take what I can get... and I can never hear this song too much, in any case!

Last but not least, the Cylon version of "All Along The Watchtower", because how can you have a BSG concert without it? XD I can't wait until the show finally explains what the deal with this is, but in the meantime, we can enjoy the bizarreness. XD Gotta love how the violinist sort of busts out into a rock-and-roll solo at one point, too! (NOTE: The currently known significance of "Watchtower" is considered a spoiler for those who haven't seen "Crossroads Pt II" yet, so be careful.)
In conclusion, Bear McCreary kicks a**.
