Yay! I finally finished the fanfiction needed to start this RP!
I'm afraid it was extremely long so bear with me.

Here goes fingers crossed...

A little while after L was killed.Ryuk found out that Rem had also died.
He and Misa were quite upset and he didn't eat any apples for days.
When he calmed down Misa pleaded him to do something about it.
"Ryuk there must be something you can do to bring her back!"
"I could always trick the ruler of the Shinigami into ressurecting her?"
Misa agreed that it was a great idea. And it worked too. Two days later Rem was returned to them.
And at a small price that she was not allowed to use her death note for 10 days.
When they got back to Light's house Rem decided to ask them something.
"I know that Misa would want me back... but why you Ryuk?"
Ryuk stopped halfway through eating an apple.
"Well...err..."
He couldn't think of what to say. His mind was clouded with thoughts.
The shinigami got up and faced his friend. He sighed and prepared for the worst.
"Because...I love you."
Misa turned to stone and Light cracked up laughing.
Rem froze in shock. She never knew that any shinigami would have feelings for her.
"Ryuk...I don't know what to say..."
"Just say that you would try to like me."
It was strange to see Ryuk, who usually didn't show much feelings for anything except apples, act in
such a way that made the whole thing seem like some corny movie.
Rem stood to face him. She looked like she was about to cry.
"I'll...do my best."
Suddenly Misa burts into tears.
"Oh my gosh this is so romantic!"
Light smirked at her and she clonked him over the head.
"Don't make fun of them!"
The two shinigami laughed and for a while nobody talked about it.
The next day though, Misa got chatty.
"So if you guys are together now... does that mean that one day you'll get married?"
Light started laughing hysterically.
Ryuk smiled. "Well...maybe..."
Misa squeaked with exitement.
"What about kids?"
Both shinigami stopped dead.
"Err... well... you see Misa..." they were finding it hard to explain this to her.
Light pulled out his death note and opened it to the rules section.
"They're not allowed to."
Everyone leaned in closer to read the statement.

exclaim Although there are both male and female shinigami, it is neither permitted nor possible for a shinigami to have a sexual relationship with a human.

exclaim The shinigami also cannot have sex with eachother.

"When did that get there?!"
Misa got up and flicked thought her own death note. "It's not in mine."
Rem looked at Ryuk confused.
"I think the old man wrote that in there when I got it off him."
"Old man?"
"The ruler of all shinigami."

Light left the room to get some shopping with his parents. Misa and the shinigami were left in charge
of Sayu. Misa briefly left the room to get a drink while Sayu was watching Titanic.
Rem sat near Ryuk on the sofa. She couldn't get off her mind what Misa had asked them only a few hours ago.
It was as if suddenly she wanted children of her own.
Almost reading her mind, Ryuk grabbed her round the waist and lifted her in the air.
"Gotcha!"
"Ryuk put me down!"
"No can do missy you're coming with me!"
Ryuk lifted her up and started walking towards the bedroom.
"Ryuk what are you thinking? We mustn't! The rules said-"
"Screw the rules!"
He carried her through and onto Light's bed.

Meanwhile, Light got back from the shops with his parents. He found Saiyu infront of the TV but his shinigami
friends weren't with her.
"Hey Misa where are Rem and Ryuk?"
Misa looked at him puzzled.
"You mean they're not in the living room with your sister?"
Light and Misa searched the rest of the house being careful not to cause suspicion. They came to His bedroom and
noticed that the doorhad been left slightly open.
"Why're they in there?" asked Misa.
Light quietly crept through the door into the surprisingly dark room. A few second later he ran back out again
slamming the door behind him.
"Light-kun what's wrong?"
"You do not wanna know!"
Light was blushing like crazy. Misa then realized what her boyfriend meant and also turned bright red.

For the next few days Life went on as usual except for the fact that Rem was starting to feel unwell every morning.
Eventually She got everyone together with some news.

"YOU'RE PREGNANT?!"
Light collapsed from laughing too much, Misa turned to stone with her mouth hanging open and Ryuk fainted from shock.
Rem simply smiled. "That's right."
Light finally managed to stop laughing. "I kind of knew the was gonna happen after we walked in on you guys..."
The room stood still for a second. Misa was the one to break the silence.
"So... how're you taking it?"
"I'm fine... and I think Ryuk will be fine too when he wakes up."
Ryuk regained conciousness and sat on the floor in a trance.
"I just can't believe it worked... I thought that it wouldn't happen because it's against the rules." Rem thought aloud.
"Just shows that some rules were just made as killjoys!" Ryuk chuckled as he bit into a red apple.
Light smirked. "I just wonder what 'his highness' will say when he finds out."

Eight months went by and life was pretty much the same. Until Sayu got curious.
One day Light and Misa (along with Rem & Ryuk) were babysitting his little sister while his parents went out for the night.
Rem was flicking through her death note when she didn't notice Sayu standing behind her.
Suddenly she dropped it by mistake and Saiyu picked it up. The moment the girl touched it she saw Rem standing over her.
Misa and Light heard her scream and ran into the living room where she lay staring at the terrifying white creature infront
of her.
"Onii-sama what the hell is this thing?!"
Misa ran over to her trying to calm her down.
"Sayu it's okay it's just Rem a friend of ours!"
Light explained everything to his sister quickly before she had the chance to lash out at the monster. After ten minuites she
calmed down and accepted what she was told.
"So this is a shinigami... where's the other one you talked about?"
"Oh yeah you can't see Ryuk yet!" Light held out his death note. "Here touch this."
Saiyu put her hand on the notebook and she looked about the room. Ryuk tapped her on the shoulder and she jumped violently.
Managing to hit him in the face in the process.
"Ow!Hey kid watch where you're goin' will ya?!"
"Oh sorry."
Sayu got to be good friends with Rem after that. As days went by she became more and more interested in the shinigami world.
Light needed to remind her every once in a while that she couldn't tell their parents or anyone else otherwise who knows what could
happen.

About two weeks later, Misa and Light were at HQ with Soichiro and Matsuda. They were talking about the kira case when Matsuda
suddenly spoke up.
"So I heard that shinigami we met a while ago is a friend of yours?"
Misa looked surprised.
"How the heck did you know that?!"
"Well..." Matsuda scratched the back of his head. "I sorta left a bug in your living room under one of the chairs and heard the whole
conversation with your sister. Sorry Light."
Light jaw-dropped.
"So you know-"
"That she's pregnant? Yeah I sorta heard that too."
Siochiro turned to stone and collapsed on a chair.
Misa's phone rang making everyone jump. She quickly got it from her bag and answered.
"Hello! MisaMisa's cellphone! How may I help you?"
All that the three men could hear was muffled yelling. It sounded like the caller was in panick.
"...WHAT?! Okay we'll be right there just tell Ryuk and stay calm!"
Misa hung up and turned to Light.
"Light we have to go now! Rem just collapsed in pain. Sayu thinks she may be in labour!"
Matsuda and Light both jaw-dropped and Soichiro grabbed his car keys.
"Let's go."

Back at the house Saiyu was having trouble calming down. Ryuk helped her get Rem onto Light's bed.
She heard the door open and rushed into the hallway to see Light, Misa, Soichiro and Matsuda.
Misa looked worried.
"Where is she?"
"We took her into Light's room."
"Why the heck did it have to be MY room?!"
Saiyu led Misa into Light's bedroom where a tired looking Rem lay on the bed. Ryuk was standing beside her looking very worried.
"Is she gonna be okay?"
Misa nodded. "I think so."
She shooed Ryuk into the living room along with Light, Matsuda and Soichiro where they sat in stunned silence waiting.
Time passed slowly. For a while every second seemed like and hour and Ryuk was a nervous wreck. Every once in a while the men
would hear Sayu talking calmly.
"You're doing fine."
At one point Misa started shouting.
"Rem you're crushing my hand!"
Half an hour went by and Ryuk was getting anxious. Light and Matsuda sat either side of him making sure he didn't do anything stupid.
Suddenly Saiyu burst through the door hitting Light in the face. She looked exited.
"Sorry onii-sama. Hey guess what?! It's a girl!"

Everyone got up and moved into the bedroom. Misa stood by Light's bed holding a small white baby. The child looked a lot like Rem but
there were some differences. Like Ryuk, the child had black hair. It was short and straight with a side fringe covering one of her
bright yellow eyes. From her back were two small, dark, bat-like wings and as she smiled her blood red lips revealed a pair of glistening
white fangs.

Misa passed the baby to Rem who was sitting on the bed. She looked up at Ryuk and smiled.
Everyone started talking about the new arrival.
"She's so cute!" said Misa.
"Absolutely adorable!" squeaked Sayu.
"Congratulations." Matsuda managed to blurt out.
Ryuk was so happy that he remained speechless and fainted (again).
Soichiro looked at Light.
"Is he okay?"
"He'll be fine dad."
Light later managed to wake Ryuk and he stood next to Rem cooing his new daughter.
"So wat'cha gonna call her?" Misa asked.
Rem paused.
"Actually we never thought of that."
Misa thought for a while.
"How about Sakura?"
Light laughed.
"What self-respecting shinigami would have a name meaning Cherry Blossom?"
"I dunno I just thought it was a cute name for a girl!" Misa replied folding her arms.
Light stood silent for a brief moment.
"What she needs is a name that shows feminine beauty, but also tells people she's not a total weakling."
Ryuk nodded.
After a few minutes of silent thought, Matsuda's face light up.
"I know! What about Thorn?"
The little shinigami giggled and smiled at the name.
"Perfect!" the couple said at the same time.

As days went by Thorn was soon crawling around the house and constantly getting on Light's nerves. She proved to be playful like Ryuk and
shared his love for apples. Misa would visit regularly to make sure she didn't drive Light completely insane.
When six months had passed, the little shinigami had grown enough to be able to fly, walk, talk, read and write.

One day Misa and Rem had just come back from a photoshoot when Thorn came flying from upstairs.
"You're back!"
The young shinigami was so excited that she got her wings twisted into a knot and fell right ontop of the supermodel.
"Oops! Sorry Misa."
"I guess she needs to work on her landings." laughed Rem.
Light and Ryuk came downstairs looking slightly worried as they helped Misa to her feet and guided the girls away from earshot of Light's mother.
"Dad what's going on?" Thorn asked Ryuk.
"Looks like the old man wants to have a word with me and your mother."
"Who's the old man?"
"He means the ruler of the shinigami realm." Misa told her.
"He's set up a portal in Light's room."
Rem looked at Ryuk feeling surprised.
"He's what?!"
"Yeah he's just gonna talk to us so he's made a portal linking the shinigami realm straight to Light's closet!"
The group moved up to Light's room where the closet stood open to reveal a large swirling portal.
Rem walked through the portal. Ryuk told Thorn to stay with Light and Misa before following his partner through the open closet.

On the other side of the portal Rem stood in the middle of a large room that was cast in shadow. The sand covered floor glowed under the dim light
of the flaming torches lining the rocky walls. At the far end of the room was a tall stoney-grey throne perched on a small mountain of human skulls.
Sat in the throne was the ruler of all shinigami. His form could not be seen for the gloomy shadows cast over him by the orange glow of the flames.
Rem turned back and faced the portal in time to see Ryuk stepping through into the dark room.
"Hey speak of the devil! If it isn't the old man himself!" Ryuk said in a content manner.
"Ryuk be quiet we're in enough trouble already!" Rem hissed at him.
"Nice to see you too Ryuk. I gotta hand it to ya. You two have really done it this time."
The shinigami's deep booming voice echoed around. It made Rem shiver with fear.
"I believe you both know why you have been brought here." The voice said.
The couple remained silent.
"You have broken a serious rule. And now because of that you have a daughter. Am I right?"
Rem nodded. Tears rolled down her face and she struggled not to cry as she thought of what might come next.
Ryuk moved closer to the pile of skulls and looked up at the shadowed throne.
"Who cares about that bumbass rule! It was pointless anyway! What gives you the right to keep me from starting a family for once?!"
The room stood still for a moment. Ryuk took a few minuites to calm down before moving back next to his lover.
Their ruler was about to reply when a small figure jumped out of the swirling portal. It was Misa.
"Amane san you're supposed to wait back in the human world!" Ryuk said, confused by her sudden appearance.
Misa brushed her blonde hair away from her face and looked at her two friends in panic.
"Thorn is gone!"

Ryuk was in shock at the news. Rem nearly fainted and had to force herself to stay concious.
"What the hell?!" she said with a mixture of anger and fear.
"I'm so sorry guys we turned our backs for one second and... well... the window was open and she wasn't there!"
"I know a way to get her back and with a few conditions you won't be punished for breaking the rules." the shinigami king spoke sternly.
Ryuk paused.
"What kind of conditions?"
"Your human friends will continue their lives as usual of course. Your daughter will have now taken on the appearance of a human. She is still
a shinigami on the inside but she has lost all memories of that upon doing this. You two will also disguise yourselves as humans and lose all
memories of your kind. You will still remember you names and the fact that you are togther. Although both you and your daughter will have an
'artificial' past to replace the memories you lost. You will only remember these things by touching your death notes which the two humans will
have to hold onto for you. When you find your daughter all you have to do is touch her with both of your death notes and her memories will also
return."
Rem and Ryuk thought for a while. It was a tough choice to make but it was the only thing they could do to find Thorn. Misa knew what they would
answer. The model thought to herself. "This is gonna take some explaining to Light-kun."
Ryuk saw a tear roll down Rem's face as he made the decision.
"Deal."

So that's the story so far! God it took me so long to write that I just hope it all fits on one page! Anyway before starting you MUST read the whole story and then you will know exactly what this RP is about. Then pick a character from the list and submit some info about them.
