According to wikipedia (XD) his mother's name is Sarah Black and she is deceased (as in dead)

I found this out in Breaking Dawn; I'm not sure if people will think its a spoiler but I put it in white text anyway.
His mother died in a car accident. Jacob mentions it in passing while he's in his house sulking about Bella. Okay, now it is going to be a spoiler. Paul imprints on his sister, Rachel and he is thinking that even though Paul is annoying Billy doesn't have the heart to tell him to leave because Rachel has never spent as much time in the house ever since their mother's death.

yeah i remember him mentioning somethin about that in Breaking Dawn. something along the lines of how he wonders how bella had died or how the cullens would pretend to kill her off. remember over in Book Two? somewhere at the beginning when they mention them telling charlie that bella is sick and he doesnt believe them. if they would pick a more convenient story, kind of how his mother had died in an accident..
