We have all heard them, songs that have touched us. Their lyrics having strengthened testimonies and renewed faith. The song lyric can be a hymn or just an inspirational song from any music genre.
One of my favorite hymns is "How Firm a Foundation". I love the part that says 'and I am thy God and will still give thee aid'.
My general genre song is "Believe" by Brooks and Dunn. I like when it says 'I'm findin more and more truth of those words written in red. They tell me that there is more to life than just what I can see. I believe.'

My favorite hymn is "Paise to the Man."
My inspirational general genre song is "I Saw God Today," by George Strait. It says:
I've been to church
I've read his word
I know he's here but I don't look
Near as often as I should
Yeah, I know I should
His fingerprints are everywhere
I just slowed down to stop and stare
Opened my eyes and man I swear
I saw God today
I love this song cause it reminds me that everything is God's creation and he is all aroun us.

There are too many songs that I find inspiring to list them, but the one that has been stuck in my head lately is "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing". It was in the old brown Hymn book which many of you probably don't remember. The line that says..."Prone to wander, Lord I feel it. Prone to leave the God I love. Here's my heart oh take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above." Sometimes I feel like no matter how hard I try I'm always missing the mark somehow, so this song brings comfort to me.

This isn't a hymn, though I love all of the hymns to death... but this is one of my favorite songs, and it has an excellent message.
