go to www.gsanetwork.org
and it will give you all the answers you need to know. Just make sure you find a teacher that is willing to sponsor you in it.

Hi Striptease Plz,
Well I think I can answer your question for you. I'm a member of a GSA (unfortunatly its the one at my girlfriend's school, not mine). Basically what a GSA does is premote tolerance of Gays, Bisexuals, Transgendered, Queer, etc. It allows Gays and Straights to come together and learn not to fear the other, but to support eachother.
Last week at the GSA we were asked to come up with effective slogans for posters to be posted around the school. These posters would help other gays in the school (and straights who were interested) to become apart of this group. So far, we've come up with one slogan; "Gay equals fabulous, NOT stupid!"
A GSA is a group of friends. People who like to talk to one another. The GSA I'm with is full of inside jokes and funny moments. It isn't always about "the gay people" and it shouldn't be. You're supposed to have fun! Does this help you?
*DoS*

Believe it or not, the straight people who joined want to hear what its like to come out because they know they'll never have to and they want to know what the "fuss" is all about. So we discuss anything thats bugging us really...not just having to do with orientation. I remember one time all we did was talk about the invention of cookies and how great they were. And btw the_forgotten_thought...my IamDifferent account got hacked to so this is Peacewind again. LAWLZ!!

LAWLZ!! i tried checkin out your profile, but it's private. hopefully you won't get hacked again!!! man, that would suck! i wish people where i lived would be open-minded enough to start a gsa. maybe they just don't have it at the middle school, but considering all the homophobes here, i doubt high school's gonna have one. i can't believe straight people don't know what the fuss is all about! have they never heard about the lynching of gays or all the messed up talk about them?!

I'm the co-president of my school's GSA. Daemon kind of summed it up. They lead to some VERY interesting discussions... Everything from trans- guests visiting the club, to group activities outside of school, to "coming out" stories and advice, to the Day of Silence. It's beautiful.
