Mark kicked idly at a pebble as he meandered down the winding path, feeling rather at loose ends. Vash and Valentine has unceremoniously booted him out of the house that morning, declaring that he 'needed to stop moping around'. Which was just silly, of course, because he never moped. He was just a bit bored, now that his kids were grown up . . .
Not paying attention to there he was going, Mark was abruptly jarred back to reality as he nearly collided with Meretse, of all people!
"Pardon me," he apologized, smiling absently as she blushed so prettily. He hadn't seen her since . . . well, it had been awhile since their kids had hatched . . . and was that an EGG his lovely Meretse was cluthing so tightly to her slender chest? Mark liked to think he would remember something like
that happening again, and his heart constricted at the alternative.
"Ah, hello there, Meretse. I take it congratulations are in order?" Mark looked awkwardly at the ground, stealing furtive glances at Meretse and her egg.
[OOC: thanks for the great start, and sorry about the slowness!]
