I say we definitely should.
Well not only is China Communist, but there is so much unrest over there, and they are definitely not our allies by any means.
and think about this...
Would we be in the Olympics in North Korea, Iraq, Venezuela, Haiti, or Cuba?
I think not.

Just because Hawaii is a p***y does not mean the whole USA is a p***y.

It's not the communism thats the problem. There is nothing wrong with communism in and of itself. The issue is that all the commie governments run around violating human rights. Cuba is communist and they have an exellent government, the only problem being their opression. If Cuba stopped opressing people and maybe had some ELECTIONS they would be an exellent example of good communism. And as for North Korea, I may be a commie but I hate their government with a vengance. Back to the issue, no, we shoud not boycott the olympics. They are a symbol of peace and overcoming your differences. Something definitly has to be done about China, and I do agree with a free Tibet, but boycotting the olympics is just going to make people mad. And futhermore, yes we would go into the olympics with one of those nations. We went to the olympics with Nazi Germany in 1936, didn't we?

well there is 2 things wrong with your answer
1. ELECTIONS is not part of a communist Gov't(hence it being communist)
2. Yes but even in 1936 there was controversy about that

another thing is...
I dont think we should risk athletes by sending them to an unfriendly-potentially hostile-country

And the risk could be similar to this...
"Terrorism has also become a recent threat to the Olympic Games. In 1972, when the Summer Games were held in Munich, West Germany, eleven members of the Israeli Olympic team were taken hostage by terrorist group Black September in what is known as the Munich massacre. A bungled liberation attempt led to the deaths of the nine abducted athletes who had not been killed prior to the rescue as well as that of a policeman, with five of the terrorists also being killed."~source Wikipedia.org

{Communism is a form of economics. China is a communist dictatorship. Communism and democracy can be combined, it's just never been done. Communism is simply a form of economics.

China will not attack our athletes, because they know we can, will, and should kick their asses if they do.

I do not care about Tibet, Darfur, or any of those other United Nation's money pit's.
They are not our problem.
We should go to the olympics.

Communism has to be forced upon the people hence the dictatorship.

yes thats true but it also led to the creation to one of the best if not the best special forces group in the world Grenzschutzgruppe 9, or GSG9 for short aka the counter-terrorism group of the german police.

and the remember the 1980 olympic games which the us boycotted becuase the soviets invaded Afghanistan yet the conditions are similar right now with china in tibet.

Summer Olympics suck. Since they don't don't get the point that U.S.A. will woop some a** militarily we should kick their a** in the Olympics. And if they still dont listen. Nuke em. I'm serious man nukes are the answer. It may be vulgar but look at this way. The worl is over populated. Its time we knock the population down and let animals have more rights.

P.S. Winter Olymics better.
