Hello, everybody! I haven't been here in FOREVER--because my wee-one keeps me hella busy these days. But, I'm here with a relatively serious question, and it's related to pregnancy in a way, so I thought I'd ask it here.

I thought that I may be pregnant, so I've taken three tests, all with negative results. Thing is, my period hasn't reared its ugly for more than two months. My cycle is pretty well-known for being really irregular, so I haven't given it too much thought until today. I took a test just this morning (cuz that's the best time to pee on a stick, after all), and of course, it's negative.

The only other sign of a pregnancy could be that I use the bathroom a lot more frequently. I'm already thinking of calling a doctor about it to get checked out, but I'm just wondering if anyone here has the same problem(s) or at least some sort of advice.

UPDATE: I started my cycle two days ago, nie days after I took my last progesterone pill. YAY! I can rule out that secondary infertility thing now. ^_^. Now what's left is to reschedule my PAPsmear. *dances an Irish jig*

Go to the doctor. Best thing you can do and only way to know what's actually going on.

Yep, you're right. confused I suppose I'll hafta call up my OBGYN, after all. I guess I was just looking for some sorta comfort so I wouldn't hafta freak out about it and so I could prep myself for the worst. I don't see why I would have any reason to worry, 'cuz I don't think tumors run through the family, or cysts...but my mom has benign tumors on her lady-organs (can't remember if it's the ovaries or the uterus).

Can those keep a woman from getting pregnant? Hmm--well, anywho, I'm just gonna call up my doctor and get an appointment or something.

The only things that pop into my head would be maybe a small infection of your genitourinary tract; but it seems unlikely since you didn't say you were in any discomfort.

I wouldn't brush pregnancy off yet. I missed my period for two months...turned out I was irregular for one; and then during the next month I got pregnant and didn't register till in the end of the third month! Yet seeking professional medical health is your best bet. Good luck to you!

I know stress can play a BIG part in cycles, but if you have a family history of cysts, it definitely is a good idea to go in. Keep us updated!

I know stress isn't an issue for me. I may be busy, but I'm not overwhelmed and there's nothing I can't handle right now. I'll know-hopefully-for sure by next Friday, because I just called up my doctor's office to set up an appointment. Now all my husband needs to do is make sure he can go with me that day. sweatdrop I forgot to ask when his days off next week are, hehe.

Well, I've had my visit to the doctor and I suppose I'll update you on what I found out. Not to mention, I could use this time to educate anybody who hasn't heard of this.

My OBGYN says I have a condition called "oligomenorrhea" which is a fancier term for "low periods" I have to take a 10-day perscription of progesterone, and if I don't have a period within 7 days after the last pill, it should be confirmed.

Also, because of the condition, he suspects that I could have what's known as secondary infertility. That means that I can't conceive a second child, no matter how hard I try.

It's sad, but at the same time, it's not. I have very mixed feelings about it. I feel so blessed to have my boy, Tristan and I would love a second child. But, at the same time, I would be just as happy having only Tristan.

Well, anyway, if I have secondary infertility, I've decided not to pursue the lab tests and whatnot of trying to conceive. We're pretty poor and Medicaid won't pay for any tests or fertility treatments. If it comes down to that, then Tristan will be an only child and he'll just have to be spoiled!

I have some websites that further explain what my OBGYN told me. I have another appointment on May 16th (PAPsmear, I think) so we'll see how that goes.
