A bead of cold sweat had formed at his temples...but from before...
"...ah...gomen nasai..." He whispered.
Seeing that she still looked concerned, he shook his head.
"...it's all right. Nothing's wrong."
But then he looked at the fallen goblets...

An unreadable expression.
Bending down, he gathered them up.
She took the platter and goblets from him.
"I'll go get them refilled."
With that, she headed back for the direction of the kitchens...

"Of course, Aya-chan," Maya said, relieved. She wouldn't have to read her handwriting after all. Maya was determined to help Aya as much as she could. She stumbled a little with Kana's leg, knowing that it would hurt the boy. Well crap. She was trying, but it looked like Maya would end up hurting Kana a little bit too. She winced at that thought, preferring to think of beating up the hothead when he was healthy and not half broken...
Helping Aya 7 + Focus[25] + Aya[2]-> 34 DC: 35 Sucesses: 0 Fails: 3 (<-- totally not on purpose... hehehe....) Special: For every failed attempt to help, Maya will be clumsy and hurt Kana. Oh noes!

[Those going to Mugendai can twilight time to the Hanton Forest, waiting for San. Those going to Shimagakure, can twilight time to Jonu's Ship. You don't have to do it right away, but I figured if you'd like to leave the medical ward, you could and do whatever training you wish while waiting for the rest of your parties going to the same area.
Kana: You will be able to walk after the twilight time, but you will receive -10 to any rolls where you have to use your leg, hand or arm.]

[Man, I'm thankful for the help bonuses.]
"Thank you, Maya-chan!" Aya said with a cute smile as she continued to wrap the splints around Kana's leg tightly. "I'm sure you'll be fine soon, Kana-kun," the girl said with a smile as she finished tying up the splint and helped gently place Kana's leg back on the soft bed. She made sure there was a pillow underneath his leg to keep it elevated. With his leg sitting that way, it wouldn't hurt as much. The sling she had set for his arm and his finger were alright, so Aya didn't fiddle with those at all. "I wonder what's taking Yuu so long," the girl asked, remembering that the empress had asked the boy to fetch Kana some water.
Setting Splints! DC: 45 1d20 + Knowledge [35] + Maya [2] = 46 Train: 3/3 Special: Every time she screws up, she causes Kana pain. XD

"Um-..." Came another voice, sounding unsure.
"Just...a..." There were some sounds like a small hand struggling against the door, as if blindly seeking for the handle... "...little..."
Without warning, the door swung open.
...
"...ha-woah!" The basin threatened to tumble out of his arms as he stumbled forth...
Oh no!
But outstretching his hands around the basin's gilded bronze clasps, he managed to stop its fall...thank goodness he played catch with 'paku earlier today... There was still a little bit of liquid spilled onto the stone of the floors though...dark spots contrasting sharply against the paler surrounding stone...yet the child breathed out a relieved sigh.
So trotting over, he set the basin half-filled with cool water and the clean towel onto the table next to Kana's beside... Returning to the maid, he took the tray with the three bronze goblets from her and placed it onto the table as well, next to the basin and towel...
Finally, gathering the courage to face Aya...
"Gomen ne. Ano...I...well..." He started with a quiet apology, but after that, his voice trailed off, pale cheeks flushing lightly...
But he didn't need to finish.
It seemed that he thought Aya and Maya might be thirsty too, so he brought along extra goblets with drinks, besides Kana's goblet of water... Also, while Huwei did somewhat clean up Kana earlier, they were all the more intent on saving his life...so...so the child brought along extra water for washing up Kana after ridding the bloodier bandages... Though...judging from his rolled up sleeves and slightly rumpled robes...there would have appeared to have been at least one incident that occurred in the halls along the way back...
And indeed one did...
It started with Yuu holding the tray instead. Except that his mind wandered, and he stumbled and fell, and everything the goblets contained spilled. The maid-servant returned to the kitchens to help clean and refill the goblets. But this time, since it wasn't the child filling the goblets, though there still was the plain fresh water for Kana, the maid thought the other young women may prefer punch more...
"...m-might Aya-han and..." Here he looked to Maya, uncertain...not having gotten her name before. "...want something to eat, too...?" While it was true that someone would be bringing in Kana's evening meal soon enough (seeing as the bedridden shinobi wasn't going anywhere yet)... Though the child still looked rather nervous and flustered, and perhaps even a little embarrassed for taking so long...? Or a little too, if they would suspect correctly, for having stumbled along the way...
...
They couldn't be more wrong though...
Of course, the above factors did pertain. But, like a ton of bricks hitting him...most importantly, he had remembered what he had forgotten...
Why...of course...
It was evening. Everyone else was heading to dinner...how could he have forgotten that...? The last time all of them ate would be many hours ago, during noontime, before the tournament...of course Aya-han and Aya-han's friend would want something to eat...and Aya-han's friend's...............oh dear kami-sama..................a lion.................?
It seemed now that San had left, Yuu's meticulous attention to the tiniest details has returned...
He cast his gaze away quickly almost the moment green-gold eyes had landed on Baki - almost rather too quickly though - so they hopefully wouldn't see that he had gotten suddenly a few notches paler too... Now, one may wonder, if this child was seen playing with a panther, why would he be afraid of Baki...? Well, 'paku was special...and besides...just because he tended to be a bit better than most where human-animal interactions are concerned did not mean he did not have the natural fears of most children...
So sweatdropping a little, he cast his gaze to his feet, suddenly finding the shoes much more interesting while waiting for Aya's answer... ...when I wake, will you be there to hold my hand...? ...but I go forth, unwavering. Aya turned when she heard the shy voice begin to speak her name. "Yuu-kun!" the girl said happily as he arrived. "I'll take these from you," the girl said, relieving the boy of the large tray he was carrying. "You brought juice! Arigatou, Yuu-kun," the Tenmoki girl said with a large smile, giving Yuu a large amount of praise just for getting them drinks and a basin of water. "Dinner sounds awesome! Don't you think so, Maya-chan? Baki-kun?" Aya said as she set the tray on a near by table and offered drinks to Kana, Maya and set the basin of water on the ground for Baki to drink from. The girl hadn't noticed that the basin was for cleaning up Kana, she had thought it was for other intentions. "Ne, ne! Why don't we all go to dinner and let Kana-kun rest?" Aya suggested with a smile, knowing that the room had been pretty rowdy ever since Shimagakure had entered it.
Bending over and placing a kiss on Kana's cheek, Aya smiled cutely at her injured boyfriend. "I'll bring you back some food if you're still awake," the kunoichi offered as she walked towards the door. "C'mon, Yuu-kun," Aya said as she stood in front of the door, offering her hand to the young boy. Even though Aya was a very outgoing and bright teen, she knew how to act around shy children. She had been Hanabira's mentor for a few years and Hanabira was the shyest human being she had ever met. "You should tell us what its like to live with the Empress! Yochi-jotei seems very poised," Aya said, hoping to get Yuu to speak about something while they all enjoyed dinner together.
~Twilight Time~
Aya enjoyed a great dinner with everyone and listened to anywords that came out of Yuu's mouth with great interest. She was very cheery with the boy, but tried not to be overly friendly. She also told Maya and Baki about Sundai village and the people there. Aya spoke of Kawaii the sheep and their horse Kadar. The girl hoped that one day Maya and Baki would come to visit their little base. Aya spent the night cuddled up to Kana's bed, relaying all the things that was spoken about over dinner until she finally fell asleep.
[Twilight time is just the stuff you do as the day changes. Whenever a rp day ends or you need to skip time in a mission, you write a twilight time paragraph about what your character did.]

Samurai Plot Mission Experience Rewards Maya, Baki, Kana and Aya: +40 Experience, +4 Ryo
Kana, Aya and Yuu may exit to base Mugendai. You will have had to travel two days.
Maya and Baki may exit to Jonu's Ship. You will have spent the night at Hanton. Shinichi will key everyone in on the ship about the Samurai Order.
Note to Aya,
Through watching your wide range of skills, I have found you worthy of the title Chuunin. Your eseijutsu and ninjutsu are strong. Your stealth is nearly unmatchable and your care for those closest to you is of a pure heart. Being able to teach, handle stressful situations and utilize your skills in combat efficiently are of the utmost importance when becoming a chunin. You receive a soldier pill, smoke bomb and 10 Ryo upon promotion.
Note to Kana,
Your ability to have those around you admire you is a special talent and important quality for a leader. A willingness to trust new found comrades while keeping your loyalty to the old is something not to brush aside. You already have strong followers and protectors standing by your side. I hope to see you expand your resources and skills in genjutsu. Your utilization of basic techniques in a very complex way astounded me. I know I will not regret giving you the title of Chunin. You receive a soldier pill, smoke bomb and 10 Ryo upon promotion.

...not quite his original intention (as he had not quite noticed Baki's presence earlier)...but...
Ah, well....at least Lion-han is happy...
Yuu instantly flushed crimson, easily embarrassed this child was, as Aya gave him a light kiss on the cheek...
Dinner sounded wonderful though, so he hurriedly picked up his golden ball from the chair he had left it (and perhaps as a pretext to a quick escape too), and led the way back to the great hall. Before they left, a maid knocked on the door and came in with a tray bearing a light dinner for Kana...seeing as he might not be able to stomach anything heavier due to the pain. The maid-servant brought in the painkillers from Huwei-sama and measuring out a careful amount as according to the note, mixed the pills into the drinking water...they dissolved...there might be a slightly metallic taste to the liquid now, but at least it was nothing too unbearable...and it would help if the Kun Kumo planned to rest easy for tomorrow's travel...
At dinner, a flustered Yuu stumbled over broken fragments of words...not having quite expected yet too expected the curiosity...and utilized as best as he could his already impressive vocabulary for a child his age. He didn't (perhaps had not thought of...or even more perhaps thought it improper) mention the story of how he had come to live with San, but he did answer Aya's questions as best as he could about the daily liveries of the court...
Though it was clear from the child's descriptions of San that he idolized her, almost as about close to goddess the child could get to without using the actual word... If only Shinichi wasn't so stubborn, he might've actually been able to find out what he wanted to know...except only then Yuu would not have talked, considering he did not trust the Kage...
They returned to their rooms after dinner. A maid-servant brought him a linen traveling bag to pack other things, already having placed into it a clean set of clothes and a spare set was in her arms. Yuu, curious, inspected it... ...set of boots? There were also a certain kind of armguard clasp to secure long sleeves in place. Ah. Something like the hunter's uniform but measured for his height...this would make it easier for traveling...
He made sure that she left before he went to that certain stone in his bedroom and slipping small fingers at the edges, pushed until the stone came out. A small vault with a leather-bound book...lined with white cloth to prevent the moisture from damaging the journal...
His journal...
He secured the stone back in place before he picked out two brushes, looked for where his brush case went, and a stash of inks in their case too since he might not be able to find a store for a while. He also took the world map he had drawn during one of the art classes, thankful for that lesson because now it can be placed into use...and took a canteen, rope, a tinderbox, a blanket, and his flute. As far as books go, though...he took only the one scroll about the mythical island village - a scroll on Shimagakure - so that later perhaps he would not be too lost...
When packing was done, he sat down quietly and taking a bit of water from the pitcher, prepared the ink and brush and sat down to write in his journal of the events since he left the library during late noon...
An hour passed.
Then another.
Finally, allowing the ink to dry before closing the book, Yuu blew out the candle light and headed to bed.
Tomorrow was going to be a long day, after all.

Maya opened her mouth to say something about the water, but Baki beat her to it - and lapped it up eagerly. Maya sighed, scratching her head and giving Yuu an apologetic smile. Silent, she nodded her head as Aya chattered, grateful that the girl was the one assigned to keep the young one happy. Maya knew that, though he had fine black hair on trace parts of his sleeve, the little boy was afraid of Baki. If Baki could speak, it would be easy to reassure the little one, but he could not. Maya followed Aya easily, keeping a 'safe' distance between Baki and little Yuu ...
~Twilight~
Maya ate quietly, listening intently to Aya and nodded, though very interested about the horse that Aya mentioned named Kadar. Imagine, to ride such a thing! It didn't sound all that much bigger than Baki, but to travel that way... Maybe that Ibazi idiot was onto something with his continued attempts to ride Baki around. Maya spent the night with Baki, curled up in the soft grass outside that had not been marred by the attack. She wondered if Aya would return with her to Shimagakure.
