Hughe hadn't really made himself known lately, though that was very much unlike him. It was usually in his nature to get involved in anyone and everyone else's business. It was, after all, more enjoyable to irritate the others in the mansion. One would think he'd learn from being locked in a dungeon cell for so long for doing so, but apparently not. Either that or he just didn't care. Besides the inspired mansion wasn't a castle of chuckling aristocrats, so it was different.

Sludging his way slowly to the kitchen, Hughe held an arm across his stomach with a twisted and distorted expression on his face. A soft growl from his stomach announced his hunger to the world, much to Hughe's disliking. "Why does the kitchen have to be so far away?" he groaned rolling his eyes. If he was feeling more energetic, perhaps the kitchen wouldn't seem quite so far, but as previously explained Hughe wasn't quite himself lately.

What he really needed wasn't food (okay maybe he did), but someone new to talk to. Or at least someone he'd met before. Or really, anyone would just about do. He was sick to death of being on his own pacing down corridors for entertainment. It was well and truly time to snap out of that lethargic daze and DO SOMETHING.

(well, you asked for it! wink I shall seriously withdraw this post if you do not approve of it, but I figured, why not, and it's 6am and I don't know if I'm even really here )

What was slammed across the kitchen island was a large, hunking slob of what at first glance appeared to be meat. Only suspiciously dark brown for raw meat, almost rotting, which was around the time the smell assaulted teh senses.

Flies were buzzing around in a miniature feeding frenzy, and further observation of the atrocity revealed that it was not quite meat so much as a very mangled carcass of what was likely once a deer.

What was even more bizarre was the cheerfully humming woman who was walking around the island, and the thing on the center of it, as if performing surgery. She was smiling to herself, in a delicate little way, and had deathly pale skin (of the sort thought to be on vampires and those who simply never experienced the sun, none the less had distaste for it,) and pitch black, somewhat short, softly curled hair.

"Now, now, none of that! If ye weren't such a dumb ol' mongrel in the first place I wouldn' hafta stitcher up every other season now, wouldn' I?!"

And so, the hunk of meat carcass gave an annoyed grunt from somewhere in response.

As soon as Hughe saw the dead-by-not-quite-so-dead thing he couldn't help but stop dead in his track. Before he was even aware of what he was doing he called out "What in the world is that thing?", quickly followed by raising his hand to his nose in an attempt to block some of the smell. He'd suddenly lost his appetite as this stage.

It eventually came to his attention that it was some kind of animal, or was. "Wha- That- How- What is-" He stuttered desperately searching for the right question to ask first. Upon further study he could have sworn he heard it make a noise, but that couldn't be right, could it? "Just what is going on here? You're polluting all the senses with that foul stench! I was hoping I'd never have to smell rotting flesh again! Are you trying to spread diseases?" He demanded without second though.

He moved closer to the dead thing(at least it looked dead) and the woman in order to shed light on what it was she was doing. "Good Heavens... Are you mad?" he muttered more-so to himself than to the weird woman as he backed away a little from the corpse.

The meat thing rippled in a strange way reminiscent of water, and very uncharacteristic of anything... meat. The woman, meanwhile, had gone to utterly ignoring the intrusion of the other, though she had stopped her humming.

Coming around the opposite side of the island of Hughe, she took off one of the gloves she'd been wearing, and slammed a pretty white hand deep into the meat and started conducting squishing sounds and concentration faces.

"Are ye done with the questions, lad?" She eventually asked, eyebrows arched high in a sort of insane indignance. "Cause if ye hadn't noticed, I'm a bit busy'er, an I don' think I'd have half the time required to make ye understand a half a'wut I'm doin."

Finally finding what her hand was searching for, she bit her lip and pulled it out, taking with it a small squishy blackened organ. The meat gave another grunt, though this one seemed pleased.

"Ah. The liver. How could I forget it? Silly me." She tossed a look at Hughe, "Are ye hungry, lad?" She asked, black, rotting liver still in hand.

Hughe cringed as the sight and sound of the woman feeling around inside of the dead thing. He didn't answer her first question because he was too busy trying to ignore the sounds while he looked away from the woman. "You could at least tell me what-" he started to say, but then stopped and shook his head. He didn't want to know anymore.

He glanced back at the woman and winced at the sight of the liver. "Well, I can't deny my stomach is empty, and I came to fill it... But coming across this has made all intension of devouring anything impossible for the time being." He muttered with a look of disgust on his face, although it had softened a little since he'd first come in.

"What is that creature for it to still make noise? Shouldn't it be dead?" He asked, unable to keep every question he wanted answers for from surfacing. This woman was either some very sick creature, a practicing surgeon, or a witch or some kind. At least those were the only options that came to mind when he questioned it.

The woman gave a sigh and threw the liver across the kitchen, luckily landing it in the sink. She smiled, pleased with her aim, and then patted the meat thing as though it were a human. "All done, love. Up now, best not be sittin' in the house an' gettin maggots ever'where. I figgre' the bugs'll be done with ya' in the wherebouts a'few months, but 'till then, stables with ye!"

The meat suddenly came to 'life', rolling off the island with a thud. When it had flipped, small legs that had been folded in under it became invisible, and while there was still no distinct 'head', it began moving the legs, shuffling toward the door.

"So, a meat eater, ar ya? 'Course I wasn't suggestin' ye eat MEAT, lad! What kinna monster are ya! Cannibal, eh? All kindsa diseases frommit, yaknow. I meant a nice salad, aye?"

Hughe raised a brow and stared as the dead-but-not-dead creature left the room. His sense were relieved by the creatures departure, but the smell was still lingering a little. "No one ever said anything about meat, dear lady. And please, do not talk of monsters when something like that has just walked out the door." He said moving forward a little.

"Cannibals... Heh. That brings back some memories. Ones I'd much rather forget." He muttered under his breath.
He looked the woman over for the first time now and tilted his head. "So... Are you a necrophiliac or something? I find it hard to believe that a sane person would keep such a creature as that. Perhaps you inhaled too much vapor from rotting flesh and have gone mad as a result?" He asked not even bringing up the subject about the suggestion of a salad. He really wouldn't be able to stomach anything just yet. It was something he'd never gotten used to.

She stared for a moment, clearly puzzled. "Necro.. philiac?" She asked, shaking her head. "Well, ye got the first part right anyway, and for that I'm impressed! Most o'em just reffer me to 'witch' n be done with it! This young one has some potential or interest in the unknown, mayhaps?" She asked, giving him likely the kindest most softest look she'd given him yet for a moment before spinning on her heel.

Her outfit was something almost as strange as she was; it was 'fancy' in it's own way but hardly acceptable by any 'fancy' social arrangement. It was somewhat vintage styled as well, but not quite, and given the way she talked one may only guess such were only the begining enigmas.

"So. No salad for ye, hmm? A growing child such as yourself needs to eat! May become a man one day, yet! I'll give you a large helping a'eggs then. Eggs aren't quite meat, you know. I don't see nothin' wrong with eaten eggs meself."

Hughe couldn't help but laugh at the woman and shake his head. He was actually surprised she wasn't insulted, or at least didn't show it. "There's a lot that's still unknown and if you want to survive in a new world, then you need to be able to understand it." He muttered quietly. He reply did shed some light as to what she was and what she was doing, but that only made him feel a little more uneasy.

"You're a necromancer, is that right? I believe it has something to do with the dead, but no one has really explained anything more than that, other than to be weary of them. I'd be thankful if you didn't speak like that, as well, dear lady. I don't believe anyone in this room need grow any more than they have already done." He said stretching his arms lazily. He didn't quite understand this woman or what she was talking about, so he didn't bother trying to anymore. Besides, all the talk of food was bringing his hunger back from the depths.
