I was wondering how much of a time skip there is from Darkly Dreaming to the second book? I know that between the first and second season there was like a month and eight days.

No, I did not. I was asking about a time skip in between Darkly Dreaming Dexter and Dearly Devoted Dexter. The Time Skip I mentioned occured between the seasons of the Television show.
