Alright, so I've been chewing this over for a bit, and it kind of makes sense to me. I'm not even sure how I got the idea, but... yeah. Basically I got around to wondering if life doesn't make energy, but rather, there's kind of a field of energy all around us that we pull in and filter to make our own and use (possibly kind of... refine? to explain the deeper energy... I think it's called Prana. Can someone tell me exactly what it's called?). If the energy was just a massive field all around us, I think it could explain why some people are still mundane, while others become witches/psions/whathaveyou. Kind of like how if you live near a busy street, you eventually tune out the sound of traffic -- it's still there, you just have to listen for it.
(And I'm terribly sorry for the crappyness of the post, but I just woke up maybe ten to twenty minutes ago.)
Anyways, discuss, debate, destroy, design your own idea. n_n

Well...I suppose if you considered our "refinery" to be our metabolism, then that would be true. We don't really "make" energy (and here I'm going to bring up my "so-called law" again, haha), due to the Law of Conservation of Energy. We just convert the energy we get from food into heat, sound, movement, and bodily processes.
But as far as becoming more/less attuned to the energy...eh. I can't really seem to make the connection. Perhaps if you explained it a little more and elaborated on exactly how it would work, I might be able to understand.

Sounds to me like the idea of an etheric matrix. That being that everything manifested on the physical has an etheric counterpart that it is built upon. For instance, our etheric body would be the blueprint and foundation for our physical body.
At least, I think that's right. Too many of those ideas floating around. xd

hey makes sence to me. if we went by your theory the veil would have significance and it would lead to other theories that would further explain the whole energy thing if they built on each other...
but yeah theres my haypenny.

Why are some folks 'mundane' and others not? Setting aside the questionable allocation of such a dichotomy, I'll put this simply.
If you're not out looking for something, most of the time you will not find it. And most folks have little to no active interest in the occult.
