One of my very best friends has managed to secure a summer internship slot with the O'Conner Eventing team. She's incredibly excited about it, but the one down side is that she can't bring her horse. He's been for sale for a while now, but she hasn't had much luck in finding the right home for him. I thought it would be worthwhile to put something out here to see if there was anyone in the North Carolina/South Carolina/Virginia area looking for a lower level eventing horse.

Sierra is an 11 year old thoroughbred gelding. He's about 15.2h with an incredibly lovable personality. He's evented successfully at beginner novice and could easily go novice, she just doesn't get a chance to school cross country very often, so she hasn't gotten a chance to show anything higher. He has shown 3'6 jumpers and can do 3'6 hunters. He has shown first level dressage and has been pretty good at it. He schools some higher level movements, but his owner's passion isn't in dressage, it's in eventing.

He spent the summer with his owner while she was a working student for Dorothy Morkis, who was an olympic medalist in dressage, so his dressage training is very solid. He loves to jump and is will take care of his rider for the most part. He can be prone to "ADD" days, where everything is more interesting than his rider, and he will act up some on those occasions, but he's very safe. I've jumped this horse around bareback in a halter without a problem. I've also jumped him over 3' with a saddle and bridle, and schooled him first level dressage. He's really easy to ride, very light off the aids. He's got that classic dorky thoroughbred gelding personality and loves to be scratched and loved on on the ground.
She is asking $12,000 for him, but it is negotiable. We are located in southern North Carolina. If you're interested, or if you know anyone who might be interested, please PM me and I'll give you the contact information for him. School ends the beginning of May, so we need to find him a home by the end of the month.
