Imperial Guard Devronin 19th Regiment. "City Slickers"
[Information]
The 19th comes from the Planet Devron, a newly inducted human colony recently discovered by a Missionary convoy traveling to the Ultimar system. While away from the Imperial light the citizens of Devron became masters of technology, their warlike leaders ensured their army was constantly supplied with the latest technology. Instantly their usefulness was seen in their advanced personal armor system. It fused a protective layer of ceramic and what they call “Electric Synth-steel” filled with microscopic robots able to do small field repairs and take output from the environment and use it to cloak it's wearer. Updating their solid round weapons for the superior Lasgun instantly made them a fierce fighting force, and since their worlds are covered in planet sized cities their skill as city fighters is unmatched. Thus the 19th was born, the first regiment officially under imperial command since the colony induction into the Imperium. Their first battle, along side more established regiments got them the mocking nickname “City Slickers”, but with a quick victory in every city skirmish they participated in the name began to stick as a badge of honor and the 19th wore it proudly.
Deployment: Much like the Catachans are deployed to hostile jungle worlds through out the galaxy so is the Devronin 19th deployed to the most hostile urban combat zones. They act as specialized troops, and often an officer or skilled enlisted men are taken from the regiment to train other regiment in the art of urban combat.
Common Devronin Weapons:
Lasgun: Modified City Fighter Variant (CFV VII)
The difference can be seen here, the CFV lasgun has a sub nose, and is about 3 inches shorter. This helps when fighting in dense cityscapes.
The CFV also boast a higher power output, but shorter range. They are still deadly accurate and, their ghostly white las blast dignifies them amongst all other las type weapons in the galaxy. It also makes them almost impossible to see in the daylight with out some form of thermal imagining.
Shotgun:
This is a standard shotgun design from the Devronin Homeworld. It is a solid munitions weapons that can be loaded with a massive solid shell or a shell filled with metal pellets. When fired with a slug it can do enormous damage to even the most heavily armed troops, when fired as pellets it can take down multiple targets at close range.
Tank Fist:
The Tank fist is the nickname given to the mobile rocket launcher favored by anti-tank squads, this is standard issue Imperial rocket launcher.
Tech Grenade:
The Tech Grenade is a small metal sphere that contains 150,000 of the Nano bots found in the body armor worn by the Devronins. Once the time is set the grenade detonates its outer casing releasing the swarm of robots. The Grenade has three different settings; Light Infantry, Vehicles, and Friendly
When on the Light Infantry setting the Nano bots will latch to identified enemies and detonate.(In game frag grenade)
When on the Vehicle setting the Nano bots will attempt to gain access to the vehicle and do as much damage as they can on internal computer systems before they detonate. ( In game Krak Grenade)
When on the Friendly setting the Nano bots will seek out friendly troops and aid in repairing damage body armor.(No in game rep)
Long Las:
The Long las is used in vast quantities amongts the 19th regiment. While basic troops need the short range to fight in close quarters, the trooper equiped with a long las will be in paradise amongts a ruined city. A sniper can set up and move unseen through tons of fallen debris and an endless supply of cover.
