<>Dusk warily walked through a clearing, pausing to scent the wind, then moving on. He had been wandering for a moon now after he left his prior pack. He loved his brothers and sisters but there were to many males to make continued living in his home pack comfortable.
~Two nights ago he had entered a stretch of land he was unfamiliar with, the sent of strangers faint traces marking recently traveled paths. He had avoided those particular paths, unready to face a new pack quite yet....
Dusk padded on the clearing already far behind, the distance eating trot of a wolf on the move pushing him farther afield. Then he stopped suddenly nostrils flaring.
~His coat rippled with an involuntary shiver of his skin; The black fur broken only by the faint shine of flower like markings along his flank. The mark of a packs border scent hung strongly in the air, he couldn't quite tell how large this pack was but here was where he would wait. Normally he would have greeting, and asked permission to cross through the territory and move on, but something made him want to wait and meet these wolves, perhaps some subliminal message in the sent compelled him... either way he would wait. In the meantime he would lay here and rest, just close his eyes for a minute, his paws gave a throb, his eyes slipped shut, and he slept, though he had not intended to do so, the seep of one exhausted.
