Honestly, I'm unsure why ppl pair Rukia with Kaien. She admired him (AND HIS WIFE, I MIGHT ADD), and he helped her find her place... Well, it is implied he and Ichigo are the same soul because of how much they look alike, but I dunno... Ignore me, I guess sweatdrop ...

Rukia did like Kaien but I think she liked in as a brotherly way and I think Ichigo liked Senna in as a sister. So I still believe in IchiRuki.

No, Kaien x Rukia wasn't canon. Miyako x Kaien was.
I support it too because of how beautiful a selfless one-sided love is. ;o
In any case, I believe that Kaien and Miyako are figures of the past and symbolic of IchiRuki. If you look at them, Kaien looks a lot like Ichigo and Miyako looks a lot like Rukia.
