I bought a Roland Micro Cube and a Digitech Death Metal pedal.
The Micro Cube is pretty awesome, I've heard all about it and how great it was so I decided to try it out. I also tried the pedal out in the store and it sounded pretty good.

Does anybody have the same equipment? What do you guys think?

Im more of a fan of EH for alot of the basic effects,
though Digitech is my favorite for alot of the more abstract stuff, like the whammy.

I own the pedal. I hate it, it feed backs very easily and sounds very thin. If you could role the gain back a little, the pedal wouldn't be so bad.

No, I roll the gain back a bit, it seems to help a little.
Besides, I like a bit of buzz in my sound. Just a tiny bit though.

I prefer to use the amp for gain and just add like a little delay maybe. I want to get an mxr carbon copy. But yeah, if I were to boost the amp gain I would use a tube screamer... they seem to add gain and edge well without adding buzz or unwanted coloring of tone, however they're not a full blown distortion or anything so you would just use it overtop of your amp gain.

I have a microcube and all I can say is you get what you pay for. It is good for practicing technique, but don't expect too much out of it. I don't really use it to practice playing songs as the tones are not so great, but who needs good tone when you are only practicing scales and such.
