Vic narrowed his eyes fractionally, giving her a sly little look, "There is more to you than meets the eye, Miss Ariadne.. You've not said much about your household but I'll wager you hold some power within it if you have not frequented this area much if at all. People with nothing within a house could not afford to go elsewhere to lose themselves.." And with that, what he had implied along with his sly one eyed look melted away as if it had never been there, although it did leave one fact right out there in the open. Vic'zar was not a slow witted man for his injuries or demeanour despite his outwardly, genuine friendliness.
His hand did however come up to his own forearm to cover her small slender hand by mean of comforting her. He didn't really know why, it couldn't just have been the flinch of her fingers, he got this strange feeling right where his headaches usually plagued him, a feeling of uncertainty, not fear but it was a little apprehensive.
"I'll tell you more about my name, Miss Ariadne.." He gave her a friendly smile, "As soon as we have found ourselves a seat and have made a good start on that wine.. What is your preference or should I try surprising you..?" He asked cheerfully, taking her to the side to a less crowded area before offering her a slightly worn if comfortably upholstered seat.
His dragon had decided not to heed the females words and and continued to give her and her earring a pointed look. She wouldn't try it just yet.. But it was incredibly tempting, yet again her wings were twitching.. And now she was torn. Should she stay with the ruby or should she make sure her master didn't spend her gold..? She snorted a small plume of smoke to show her frustration at her current predicament.

Ariadne gave him a slightly sharp look at this little insight into her character that she had really not been expecting him to pick up on.. she was going to have to be careful.. she really was if she didn't want to give away more than she wanted to.
She settled neatly on the seat he took her to, and carefully unfastened the ties and clasp f the cloak that went a goodly way down the front of it, brushing it off her shoulders she had to adjust her dress, it was slightly rumpled where the heavy fabric had shifted as she sat.
The touch on her hand had reassured her in a strange way.. it wasn't even just the touch.. there was more to it.. for a moment she had been convinved that he had spoken to herl but.. at the same time she knew that there had been no words to the sort spoken...
It was strange.. the pain had turned into almost a soft sensation.. it was almost comforting.. it was strange.. she really didn't understand it at all.
"You can surprise me.." she stated,
"Though it really shouldn't be had to guess.." The look she gave him then would have surprised her if she had realised she'd given it, she msiled slightly, the red eyes fixed fully on his blue ones for a moment, totally unblinking, the lids slightly lowered.. she held the gaze for a while before flicking her eyes to the dragon..
"Would a gift appease you, beautiful one? I would wish no harm to come to you and the stone you covert just now might do you some harm.." she reached into her cloak, an inside pocket and pulled a delicate chain out, on the end hung a stone similar to the one that hung at her ear..
"Take this and be at ease.. the one in my ear will do you no good.."

Vic continued his friendly if soft rumble of a chuckle, stretching his arm down to the back of the sea that he would use when he returned, "I hope you do not find her to be too obsessive an overbearing, Miss Ariadne.. You may have just spelled your doom with a gift like that to her!" He gave his dragon an affectionate stroke with a shake of his head.
"I'm going to guess that you are a fan of rich red wines.. I've heard that there are some wines imported from the surface here, though I doubt you'd like to dabble in the brews of man or elf.. Fire-wine.." He mused the last to himself as he clasped a hand over his pouch of coins should his dragon suddenly have second thoughts, "I shall return anon!" He announced to Ariadne, "Fear not, I shall return!" He laughed with a small mockery of a bow before he disappeared between two drow and out of sight.
Mavis meanwhile was more than happy with Ariadne's gift and took the stone from her fingers with the utmost care, making sure that her teeth did not touch what she knew could be very delicate skin. With a wiggle of one of her limbs she soon had the chain wrapped around her talons, securing the stone which she then happily clicked her teeth around, chewing it.

It wasn't too long until they were joined again by Vic'zar, who happily set two darkly coloured bottles down on the table, setting two glasses beside each other as well.
"I hope you'll enjoy theses then, Miss Ariadne.. Now, if you would be so kind as to choose which to start, I believe I have something to tell you about my name, do I not?"

The look on Ariadne's face as the human or elf wine were suggested were definately all she'd have needed to give by way of an answer. She'd never have anyhing to do with the surface world.. least of all.. elves.. ugh.
She watched the dragon with a pleased expression while Vic walked away from her, the creature was a pretty one that was for sure, she liked her excessively already, but then again, creatures of all kinds were something of a fascination to her, they were so much more useful than most Drow could ever profess to be.
She actually felt herself smile slightly when she realised her new aquaintance was coming back.. then she looked up.. and realised that he wasn't actually there... well.. where was he.. she was sure he had seen him out of the corner of her eye.. but.. oh wait.. there he was.. but.. he'd definately been out of sight until right then.. what on earth..?
Today was definately weird...
When Vic joined them properly again she finally managed to shake the confused, uneasy sensation.
"We can start with that one.." She stated, pointing without really thinking to one of the bottles...
"I'm sure they will be nice, if not you know I'll be displeased, so.." she lifted her shoulders in a slight shrug,
"Now, no more putting it off.. tell me about your damned name or I will have to find some way of making you suffer.." she was teasing, but there was that hint of danger there regardless.

If he had seen her face as he had retreated, there was no doubt that Vic would have found in immeasurable amusing. Though as he didn't he instead quietly contented himself with the peaceful sort of feeling that was spreading throughout his mind, and of course the pretty smile that his female companion was offering him. She had a wonderfully alluring smile, not a sexual sort of alluring, it was really just something else. It must have been something to do with here eyes as well, he concluded, little realising just how rare those smiles were.
"Indeed I think that you will be plagued by my dearest little companion for a long while yet. I shall not be surprised if I wake up one dark morning and find her gone, and indeed you should not be surprised either when you found she has snuck into your rooms and made herself quite at home amongst your valuables!" He selected the bottle that Ariadne had indicated and swift;y uncorked it pouring out an impossibly dark wed wine first into her glass and hen into his own.
"Enjoy!" He smiled, raising his glass to her then pausing to inhale the dark rich scent before taking an appreciative sip.
"Mmm! Indeed.. My name.. It's obvious to you that it isn't my birth name of course, though sadly I am not at liberty to share that with you, Miss Ariadne.." He paused to shift his dragon onto the table so he could lean back into his chair without crushing her, "I did choose my name, it seemed strangely apt to me at the time. Good fortune had smiled upon me but alas if tends to slowly fade out. SO here I am, the profound lover with no one to love! Ironic, isn't it..?"

"I like the colour." she stated simply, lifting up the glass with her very delicate hand, her eyes running over it once, checking for smudges and traces of who knows what before she allowed herself a sip of the dark liquid.. small drops of it clung to her almost purple lips as she lowered the glass again, disappearing again as she ran her dark tongue over them.
"Mm. Its good.." she stated quietly, her deep crimson eyes flicking up to Vic,
"Your taste in wine is obviously better than your taste in names..." there was a spark of humour in those eyes again which she tried to hide by flicking them downwards again..
What was she playing at? She was above this! A drink with a common trader whose name might as well have been pornography in some common bar.. ugh.. had she really sunk this low? Why was she still here? And worse than that, what on earth was possessing her to actually enjoy this?
"I don't think I'd mind the dragon's company.." she stated quietly,
"As long of course as she can keep the secret of her entrance.. it would be terrible for too many people to know a safe way into my bedchamber.." she shook her head slightly, the amused look there again,
"Though I think she might be sorely disappointed at my lack of shiny trinkets.." she was certainly not going to share her personal information with this man, there was no need to him to know of her monetary worth, nor of her possession, let him think her to be some moderately well bred woman.. that would do for now, she had no wish to be further known at this point.. it shocked her more than anything that she could think at all of wishing it in the future, though that little thought was unmistakably there... why..? Why did she not find the thought of this lowly male as repulsive as most others had been to her?
"I am sure one day, Vic, good fortune will again find favour in your loins." She stated, lifting the glass to drink,
"That or fate determines to forever make a mockery of your.. over excitable naming.." She smiled again, and had to admit that with his looks it was much more likely to be the first than the second.

Vic laughed harshly at her last comment, smacking a hand down on the table in a highly entertained fashion. The bottles wobbled and chinked gently, and his dragon, Mavis, jumped a little before turning her small head to fix him with a dark and venomous glare before she resumed chewing the gift Ariadne had presented her with.
"Favor in my loins! I'll drink to that!" He laughed, raising his glass with a grin and taking a sizable sip.. More of a mouthful in hindsight.
"Mmm.." He set his glass down but did not top up it's contents, not until Ariadne was also ready for more, he had concluded, "I have no doubt that she would keep the secret passage very secret indeed. After all, whatever precious things you had she would want all for her own, would she not..?" He tipped his head even so lightly to the side as me moved to stroke the scaled creature in question only to be met by an agrivated hiss. His hand paused half way there and instead detoured to pick up his glass once more with an arched eyebrow.
"See what I mean, Miss Ariadne..? She guards her treasures well.. But.." The eyebrow arched all the more with a slightly sly hint to his smile, "I'm sure you have a little more wealth tucked away somewhere if you've willing to give away a stone like that to her.. Rest assured she'd find it and nest there!"
Again with the slight insight. A much more subtle one than the last time however.
"So where abouts do you hail from..? My brother was a little vague when I asked him what sort of dress style I should have been looking out for.." He sipped his wine again, giving her a curious little look.

"Wealth enough to see to my own comfort." She stated simply, apparently unruffled by his highly irritation perceptiveness. What right did he to be far more intelligent than his oddly furry appearance gave him credit for... how the hell had he grown that tuft on his chin anyway...? "Not an excess to be sure, but such a trinket as that... someone I have come to care little for imparted it to me, it is honestly a liberation to be free of it, and it does seem to give her some level of pleasure anyway..." she smiled, knowing full well she had a great deal more wealth than she professed to own tucked away now in her room at the inn nearby. And a good deal more still back at home.

"My residence is really of no concern to you..." She stated thoughtfully, the dark red liquid from the glass touching her lips again before she set the glass down, "I suppose I could let you know though, what reason have I for not?" She smiled, a winsome little smile, her dark red eyes fixed on Vic's blue ones for a moment, "I'm from the WestDark... I've lived there all my life, it suits me well enough..." her gaze flicked away again. "And you? Or are you going to give me something akin to the delightful name you profess to be yours..?" She smiled at him once again, the gaze returning to his face, "As we're sharing stories its only fair that you tell me something of yours..."
