Basic Information 1. What is your full name?
Foster Rita Silas
2. Where and when were you born?
The same day as Jesus, supposedly – December 25th. It was the middle of a winter storm I was told, one of the worst the sate of Illinois had seen in years. I was born hastily in Springfield, sometime in the afternoon. 5:01 PM I think.
3. Who are/were your parents?
My father immersed himself in the medical profession. Dr. Charles Silas was quite adept at what he did, specializing in the field of infectious diseases. He helped diagnose and prevent many people from losing their lives. While he did fulfill his paternal duty, he wasn’t around so much because of his work, though because Mother coddled us so much we never had to develop responsibility on our own.
Ah, Mother . . . Gizelle was a loving parent, but her need to control the aspects of my life often came in conflict with my need for space. Once I hit 13, the problem became perpetual, worse so when two years later my sister became a teenager. With a father gone three-quarters of the day and her lack of a job, it was any wonder that she didn’t lose her sanity completely; we had no family even in the country to look to for aid. But Gizelle instilled in me a need to learn about the human psyche and to keep a healthy diet, and I am grateful for it.
4. Do you have any siblings?
A vicious lil’ sis, yeah, two years younger. Alexandra wasn’t exactly the most likeable of people; she had different faces for different people, and it was usually the self-centered brat that showed up at home when no friends were around. She terrorized Mother because our father was often away for work, and Mother began to deteriorate over the years . . . It was frightening to see how good my sister acted. Maybe that’s the only thing we have in common.
5. Where do you live now, and with whom?
Still live with my family; I’m a minor after all. We currently live down in muggy Louisiana, though I long for somewhere cold and rainy, or near a body of water at least without so much sunshine.
6. What is your occupation?
Student for now : I’ve got two years left to go! Beyond that, I’m not sure. I think I might pursue a career in writing, make a side-job off of playing the piano sometimes even. As much as I’m interested in psychology, I would probably never make it my money-maker.
7. What do you look like?
God, I hate looking in mirrors. Let’s see . . . Mid-back length dirty blonde hair that tends to be oily. 5’3” in height. Not sure about my weight anymore, the darn machines keep fizzing out of existence from neglect. Small hands : some people can even curl their fingers over mine half-way. Oval-shaped face. Bespectacled; I refuse contacts. Um . . . Weird blue-green eyes. Bit of baby fat still clings to my cheeks. Small ears if you can see ‘em, my hair usually is in the way; the one on the left is a bit curled at the lobe because when I was little an earring got tugged out all the way and tore a hole open. I think it’s still there.
Body shape, you ask? Er . . . Normal? I don’t have really noticeable curves or a gifted upper area, but it’s not all boxes and straight lines either. I tend to unconsciously give the impression of one who needs permission to be approached after an invisible line is crossed.
8. To which social class do you belong?
Middle class.
9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
Unfortunately. Much as I love animals, I’m allergic to the hairy kinds; something about a thing in their spit that doesn’t agree with my immune system. So the more they groom themselves, the more I sneeze and get red-eyed. Pollen, too.
As far as physical weaknesses go, well . . . I don’t have any inherently, but I’m not in the best of shapes either. I also have asthma induced by exercise, which is probably why I’m not athletic. Yay for excuses!
Lastly, my sense of hearing isn’t the best, especially if there’s background noise to deal with. Sometimes people have to yell for me to understand.
10. Are you right- or left-handed?
Left, and it has inconvenienced me several times before.
11. What does your voice sound like?
Not like a girl’s really. At least not to me. It’s a tad deeper, and you can usually tell what mood I’m in just by hearing my voice. It’s quite agile in pitch, though, since I like to have fun and mimic voices; this doesn’t mean I’m good at it, sadly.
12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
“s**t biscuits.” “Holy crap!” “Hum?” “Can’t hear you.” All assortments of cursing.
13. What do you have in your pockets?
My hands? Money, too.
14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
Let’s see . . . I tilt my head when confused or in thought like a dog. If walking in a group of friends counting more than two, I will invariably make it so that I’m walking a few inches behind the last person. I bite my nails unconsciously. Food never touches each other on my plate, and everything is eaten slowly. Aaaand I make all sorts of weird noises to accentuate whatever it is I’m doing.
I also write down anything I think is worth of note. Strange words to define, quotes to keep in mind, interesting concepts, almost anything is kept safe within a notepad. Just because you never know when you’ll need it, right?

The Past 15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
In general? Full of lessons, like any other. Good times, bad times, absolutely “what-the-hell?!” times, the works. I regret things I’ve done or have had done to me, sure, but on the whole I wouldn’t give away my childhood for anything. It’s made me who I am.
16. What is your earliest memory?
Jeez, um . . . I remember vaguely as a tyke having fallen while running back into the house. Tripped over that last step up and scraped my knee on the cement. I think there was blood, or some sort of claw-like wound . . .
17. How much schooling have you had?
I’ve gone through elementary and middle. Currently I’m dealing with high school as a sophomore.
18. Did you enjoy school?
Sure. There were times where I felt the absolute need to stab people, yeah, or yell out something smart aleck, but so far it’s been great. It helps to have good friends and an enduring patience.
19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
Tutorials, mostly online. Parents taught me a few things. Most I’ve sorta just taken and adapted for my own purposes.
20. While growing up, did you have any role models?
Role model? Nah, I never had one. Or if I did, I can’t remember. Probably because I never tended to dote on any one person for too long in that sort of manner.
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
As a kid, I loved my parents. Growing older, I found that I started to distance myself from them. Teenage hormones and crap. Nowadays I don’t often interact with them unless I’m in a talkative mood. Especially Alexandra.
22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I don’t recall ever aspiring to be something when I was little.
23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
Running around, playing in the sand, games, things any kid could enjoy. I most enjoyed freeze tag or hide-and-seek. And then I got introduced to the N64 . . .
24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
Gosh, I can barely remember now. I think I was happier and carefree, less likely to think of the consequences of what I did, or what impressions I gave others. I wasn’t aware that there were restrictions in life.
25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
Here you can place me under the bookworm archetype: I always had my nose in literature of some sort. I had problems making friends, and the ones that I did try to bond with ended up kinda bad in the end. I did eventually make better compadres, people who were far more confident in themselves than I was, so it was nice to be in their presence. I remained a steadfast book-lover throughout elementary and middle school but, with their help, I think I grew a bit more social.
26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
Actually, still haven’t. I should get an award, no?
27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
Yup. I would be flayed and filleted alive if I wasn’t by Dad.
28. If you are a supernatural being? If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
Any and every person who’s approached me has changed my life, if at least marginally. There’re things you do now that are only possible because of someone you might have met that one time, or heard briefly over the radio on the way to something, or watched in passing some afternoon in the past. Everything’s connected. That is what I believe.

Influences 29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
Contestable. I think it was pretty pivotal the day I started learning piano; without it, I’m not sure how I could’ve learned to vent my emotions properly. But there was also the time that I first confided to my closest friend. I’d never done that before in my life.
30. Who has had the most influence on you?
I don’t know. Dad, yes, not so sure about my mom . . . Neither were extremely important as far as influence. I just sorta went on my own.
31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Not sure again. Get back to me on that . . .
32. What is your greatest regret?
What a devil my subconscious has become! I can’t begin to determine which one it would be. I believe anything that I’ve done wrong is my greatest regret.
33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
. . . Read the above? Anything thought of as regretable is counted as a sin.
34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
None. Dad made real sure of that.
35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
The day I decided I could fully trust a friend enough to tell them more about me. Not the things they saw, but what lied underneath. My God, it was emotionally frightening . . . I was afraid, so afraid that they would take things the wrong way, just like everyone else I had ever thought to trust . . .
And, quite often, you can see me have silent torture sessions during thunderstorms at night.
36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
I have to pick only one? Well . . . my first encounter with bullies. I was so incredibly naïve back then, and I continued to try and make friends with them despite them slandering my name for their sick pleasure. And time after time I got embarrassed because of their blabbing, their rumors, and yet I didn’t learn for so long . . . Physical beatings were better than that.
37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
Making myself be more assertive as a kid. Be less secretive and withholding, be a tad more trusting. Maybe I wouldn’t be as messed up today.
38. What is your best memory?
Like I collect all of my bad times as crimes, so do I hold any memory of laughter and fun and peace as my best.
39. What is your worst memory?
I cannot discern what would be the “worst” from the jumbled mess of “bad”. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not.

Of the Mind 40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
*cocks head* Good question . . . Mixed balance? It fluctuates depending on what the topic is about. I’m optimistic enough to not bog myself down most of the time, but there’re times where there’s nothing I can do but belittle myself to get through it.
41. What is your greatest fear?
Hum . . . I’m horrified at the thought that one day my strange nature will be at such conflict with itself that the people whom I trust, whom I love, will be forced away permanently, or abandon me, or betray me . . .
42. What are your religious views?
Agnostic? Iunno. I do believe there’s something out there, I’m just not sure who it is or how many there are.
43. What are your political views?
One day as I sat down and watched a news reporter interrogate two campaign runners for president, I heard them both claim to want to be America’s “hero for the people”. And I remember thinking, We’ve had enough heroes. It’s time we had someone who actually planned on doing something for the country, not proclaim being a do-gooder of the people.
44. What are your views on sex?
Considering I’ve never had it, I don’t know really what to think. I just wish people were able to overcome the addictive pleasure given during the process enough so as not to abuse it. God knows we have enough of a population in the world.
45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
I don’t think so. I can get violent, sure, but killing . . . I’m a firm believer in justice, occasionally “an eye for an eye” if I feel vindictive enough. I used to think that the death penalty was fair and just, something people who rape and kill innocent children should deserve. Yet now, I don’t know anymore . . .
46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
Not give a second chance. Be merciless. Frame the innocent and have them take the punishment instead when the two used to be good friends. In short: betrayal without remorse.
47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Yes. I can swallow down those two, but I will never accept the concept of “love at first sight”. It’s stuff like that that gets people killed or in bad relationships.
48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
Do what they can to the best of their ability. You can’t make a definite answer for something like that, I think.
49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings?
Usually not very. I never realized how easy it was to act like everything was alright. I never realized how easy it was to placate people, to make them think you’re always happy, cheerful, funny . . .
50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
Not myself, no. Or at least, I try really hard not to.
51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
Betray someone. I abhor it so much that . . . God, I don’t know what I would do with myself if I ever did . . .
52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
For obvious reasons, my friends, though sometimes I question my loyalty with some of them . . . I can’t make myself put my family here, I just don’t know . . . Simply put, if I am able to think that they would put themselves in danger for me, then I would do the same for them.

Social Life 53. In general, how do you treat others? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
Most definitely it depends. I used to be withdrawn into my own personal bubble as a kid, so nowadays I try my best to be friendly or polite even to complete strangers. I treat my friends delicately, though almost all would never believe me if I ever told them. I keep them happy so as to eliminate the risk of losing them. It’s only those who I believe can handle it that I show my other sides and draw them into a closer relationship. I feel more like a mentor the stronger the bond is, unless the person is my senior. Though sometimes for people who don’t know me well, I unconsciously push them away out of fear; I regret it every time.
54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
Myself. I mean it in the most unselfish way, if possible - please understand that. I am driven by the need to make sure that I am safe, that nothing happens to me, but I don’t flaunt it like . . . God, this is hard to explain. In order to survive, I have made myself the main priority since I’ve been hurt in the past by others carelessly. Though I’ve been trying so very hard not to be like that, really I have . . .
55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
The people who are utterly at ease with themselves and who can handle problems so well. Are there any out there?
56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
Describing my friends individually could take paragraphs, so I’ll be succinct. They each have their own quirk that makes them who they are, and I appreciate them for that, even if they’ll never know. There is never a boring day. I do have one best friend, the only one whom I’ve confided my real self to, and though sometimes we suffer because of that bond, I’m happy for it. I wish everyone could understand what it means to have someone you can be weak with without being afraid.
57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.
Nope. I’m only sixteen at the moment; I shouldn’t dwell on stuff like that right now.
58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.
Nope. I’ve had several crushes in the past, all unrequited. Now I just sorta free float.
59. What do you look for in a potential lover? Sixteen. SIXTEEN. I’m not looking for a lover, I’m looking for a tutor!
60. How close are you to your family?
I can’t say very. Nowadays I feel like a tenant with special privileges, and it’s sorta my fault for keeping that distance. And our family isn’t in the country, and they speak a different language that – though I can understand – is sort of a barrier. But I’m still courteous when I can with my family.
61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?
Nope. I’d rather not right now, mkays?
62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
To myself. I’m my own best and worst investigator. My best friend as well.
63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
The aforementioned close friend, I suppose. Although I loathe to think that I cannot protect myself.
64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
Hum . . .
65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
The kind who thinks they’re all that, actually are all that, and yet feel a need to let everyone know just how special they are. It’s the type of person who you wish you could kick off their high horse and send them plummeting back to Earth with a resounding smack, but can’t because they’re quite adept at what they do. It makes me feel so helpless against them . . .
66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
On average, no. No I don’t try to argue with people. I don’t like being part of conflicts unless I feel a duty to it.
For those closer, I draw them into the depths of my mind and try to pry theirs open with arguments, however. I like to challenge others mentally because – even for just a moment – I feel like I’m making a difference in their life.
67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
Never. You’d have to force me if I don’t on my own.
68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
Define “large”. Three or more people at a time, and the conversations tend to split. I don’t like that feeling of exclusion, especially when someone gets left out.
69. Do you care what others think of you?
I can say that I don’t all I want, but deep down inside I do. Constantly.

Preferences 70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
Piano, net surfing, reading, and video games are a given. I also love to walk in the rain; drenched and cold, sure, but it’s invigorating. Board games are okay, though I tend to royally suck at them. I’ve always wanted to try Dungeons n’ Dragons, and I was also introduced to a similar game called Big Eyes, Small Mouth. Recently I’ve begun to draw more, though they’re far from being masterpieces.
71. What is your most treasured possession?
Adam. He’s my red panda stuffed animal I got from a shop in town; the cashier said he was originally from Austria, but I don't know how they got ahold of it. But yes, I still carry a doll around despite being in high school.
72. What is your favorite color?
Try colors. Predominantly blue and all of its hues, though silver, purple, and lately now even green also work. The more intriguing the pattern these colors make, the more enthralled I am.
73. What is your favorite food?
Ramen, microwave pizza, things that can be done without much skill in cooking.
74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
Anything and everything really. Except for maybe my school text.
75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
Good ol’ iPod. Pandora online. I’m alright with movies so long as it isn’t in the horror genre; such a wuss, I know. Art I really don’t have anything to say about except that they’re good examples to look at when trying to forge my own style. Video games are my form of instant entertainment, but I also take much pleasure in learning about other people through small things – 20 Questions or Word Association are what I tend to do.
76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit?
Don’t do any. My dad’s a doctor; I’d rather be pushed into a pool of feeding frenzied sharks before attempting to do drugs or alcohol of any kind. Though I’ve always wondered what the latter tasted like . . .
77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Sleep-in, playing video games, practicing piano, going online, and maybe somewhere in between I manage my homework.
78. What makes you laugh?
A lot of things can. I’m pretty wont to laughter.
79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
Backwash. Visible backwash. *shudder* I’m alright with the sight of blood so long as it’s not mine being spilled.
80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
Probably write about what I thought at the moment down in my notepad and consult it later for kicks. Read a book until I felt close enough to being able to fall asleep.
81. How do you deal with stress?
Hide it, go through the problems one at a time, and hope no one notices.
82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
I tend to need plans, though on rare occasion I can be spontaneous. I like knowing about things ahead of time, though.
83. What are your pet peeves?
Being interrupted when talking can tick me off. The sight of yawning when someone’s speaking, or a roll of the eyes when trying to explain something – those too.

Miscellaneous Information 84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
Wake up around 5:45 AM. Shower, change, take my sweet time since I’m listening to a radio show. Go downstairs, turn on the news, eat breakfast. Head to school after dropping Alexandra off and settle in for 8 hours of fun-fun education. If in season, stay afterschool for Quizbowl, or Geometry tutoring, before heading home. Thursdays means piano lessons. Once home, I do my homework, head onto the computer, tickle the ivories, maybe call a friend if I feel compelled. Around 8 PM I head back up, brush my teeth, and get ready to curl up with a book in bed.
I feel sorta thrown off when this simple schedule is messed with. I like dependability.
85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
I suppose being able to be strong for someone who is on the verge of breaking down. I have an astounding amount of bravado it seems, and it never shows up until someone I know well becomes endangered or depressed.
86. What is your greatest weakness?
I am far too comfortable with my negativity.
87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I’d like to refine my social skills some more, or maybe my cowardice.
88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
Introverted.
89. Are you generally organized or messy?
I am organized in my disorganization. Although my Mom doesn’t take that excuse when it comes to my room.
90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
Good at: playing piano, staying under the radar, and being funny (according to my friends, that is) Bad at: bowling, keeping cool under the spotlight, expressing myself
91. Do you like yourself?
Half says yes. Half says no.
92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public?
I just hate seeing people hurt. And I like seeing them happy. It’s simple things that make me go beyond my comfort zone . . . I really can’t explain it any other way.
93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
I don’t really have one. In general, I suppose just be able to have a successful life. I want to make a difference in so many others’.
94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Sleeping in through class in a college dorm.
95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
Knowing that I made at least someone happy. Maybe with a smile on my face, quietly going in the night without pain or struggle.
96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
I’d contact everyone and tell them I love them. I’d do things that I know they’d appreciate, and do as many as possible before the 72 hours are up. I want to put them in as much ease as possible before I go.
97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
I hope it’s for doing some sort of good, some sort of change that really, really meant well . . I’d probably die an oddball, but being remembered as the person who did something great would be nice. Not anything Nobel Peace Prize worthy, something just local, or personal . . .
98. What three words best describe your personality?
What. The. Hell.
99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
See. The. Above.
100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character?
“Er . . . Maybe come out of your shell more? *scratches head* I’m not sure, but I think you ought to learn to trust people more; you’d be surprised to see the good tendencies in them. And try to work out the negativity overtime. It's not good to keep down so much.”

The Pukka Foster’s pukka comes in the form of a stuffed animal she received one day from a new shop in town. It had been an opening sale with drop-dead prices, and she absolutely couldn’t resist the urge to buy the red panda doll. Or rather, something compelled her to; maybe those doleful black eyes. Either way, Foster’s new companion Adam is often seen on her person in some way. She feels a touch ill at ease when he’s gone. The poor gal tries to keep him hidden when possible, however, afraid of what others would think for still clutching to dolls at her age.

Water Foster’s quite a level-headed person, but she’s stubborn when it comes to being proved wrong and will calmly contest it if needed; although if it suits her mood, she’ll also suddenly give in to avoid further confrontation. Being the type of person who holds their anger in instead of letting it out at regular intervals, indeed it would be a crushing blow to a person if she were to ever crack, her tongue becoming as sharp as a knife. Yet you’d never be able to tell since she intends to keep up the façade of being laid-back and flexible.
Shadow Hiding her true emotions is an ability the girl has honed for a good long while now. Foster enjoys teasing with ambiguous answers and even more vague questions. Instigating thoughtful conversations and prodding open minds are almost hobbies now. She’s also quite casual with her darker emotions, embracing them in secret where she hopes no one can see.
Mind Perhaps not so much cunning as having large amounts of luck, Foster is quite perceptive. Details are the spice of life, and she tends to look out for them. Observing people from a distance has given her much insight, such as body posture and tone inflection information. Persuasive, though? Maybe not so much, but when speaking in a meditative or pensive mood she has a knack for sounding convincing.
