No, I saw the exact same thing you did. The video files off of BitTorrent are
recorded off what airs on the BBC.
No, the in-joke is something that you won't catch as being a reference to anything unless you're "in the know" on the subject.
The in-joke was Martha being called "Mad Martha." If you don't get it, then you don't watch the series by downloading it off BitTorrent like I do. Plain and simple. You're not missing some big, earth-shaking plot point or anything, it's just fun.
