I had no idea where to post this, but whatever. I was wondering if anyone here had any tips on removing the lines from notebook paper from a scanned image. The simple answer is not to draw on notebook paper, I know, but at first this was gonna be a doodle but it actually turned out halfway decent. ALTERNATIVELY, someone could just do it for me. I'd give a modest sum of cash monies and eternal heart . The problem with it is that it's inked and colored by hand, with colored pencil. I want it to look really nice, which obviously means getting the lines out from under the pencil too. To show you what I mean, here's the picture in question (Which you can download and clean up for me if you want ^_^) and an earlier image that I drew on unlined paper, scanned, and then cleaned up, inked and colored all in Photoshop.

It is pretty easy to remove lines from a lineart drawing (as long as the lines are in a different colour), by using photoshop and going to Select > Color range + delete. But it gets much more difficult if it is a coloured drawing. This was the best I could do, the rest can be fixed by going over the remaininglines with a small brush and the clone tool (not a normal paintbrush, you'll lose the texture and it will look strange).

I hope I could be of any help. smile

Looks great now. biggrin

It is probably a good idea to try to stay away from lined paper though, if your drawing had more blue in it, this would have been a massive cleanup job for you. xp

You could always do it in B&W and then color it on Photoshop

also for line art, photo copy it first, most lined paper loses its lines if you are photocopying and your lines are dark enough. My calligraphy teacher taught us to write what we wanted on blue graph paper then photo copy it. And an art teacher taught us to draw in blue pencil first then go over it in black to photo copy and lose all the sketch lines without having to use an eraser.
