The game essentially plays itself.

I had mine pre-ordered from EB so I got the really nice looking UMD case with Shin-Ra Electric Power Company and the logo on it. I call it my Shin-Ra badge 3nodding

I personally like the game, its dumbed down a fair bit from FF VII in terms of control, relying more on timing then anything else in combat along with the entire chance system.
Its rather intersting with the whole chance system because I gained like 3 levels in a row (right before dieing on the mission) in one fight yet had done 2 other missions with much combat in and not gained one level XD

I recommend the game, but thats also my FF fan side speaking, its a good game no matter how you look at it, perfectly suited for the PSP IMO.

Probably plays itself on easy mode. Just press X, lol. But if you go on hard mode, you'll get a challenge. At least that's what I've heard of the game so far.

Im playing on Normal (as its what they term easy, you have Normal or Hard), and for the most part its not a problem, but when you do the missions if you take on a mission thats "Very Hard", you have to watch it, I wasnt fast enough about getting to my items, since its all real time, and died. sweatdrop

Reserved it from GameStop and picked it up the day after it came out. I personally like this game. It isn't as conventional as FF VII, but anyone looking to play the game shouldn't be looking for a re-hash, but a new experience in the FF VII world. As such, there are some things that I don't like, but I'll leave them out.

If you own a PSP, you owe it to yourself to get this game. Period.

It's a fan game. If you didn't like FFVII you probably won't like this, yet those who loved the story [myself included] will absolutly adore this game. It has a simple, yet fun and addictive combat system with 300 extra missions, and a great plot. I recommend it.

i bought it at launch and i'm still on chapter 8, lol. anyway, my true thoughts are... i loved ffvii, i actually just played it this year. the story may be good in crisis core, but that's really the only reason i keep playing this. i probably wouldn't recommend it to a friend who wasn't interested in the ff series because i just feel there's something lacking in the gameplay. i still don't care for the combat system and i don't think this would be rated as highly as it was if it weren't for the fanbase that surrounds it. the game completely relies on its predecessors. however, i do like it because of ffvii, but i don't think it comes anywhere close to what the original offered. it relies too much on repetitive missions that after a while seem quite obnoxious, but the items are so coveted you feel like you have to do as many as possible to get the most out of your game. that is why i haven't finished it yet. i want to complete the missions, but they're so boooring.
