 Yukio was busy flicking his tails. Back, forth, back, forth. He watched them raptly, never taking his eyes off. It was almost hypnotic. When the temptation to pounce started to be too great, he stood up and pranced to the river's edge.
He sneered at the crystal water. The only thing good about it was that it was able to get the dirt out of his fur and he could see himself in it.
"We'd be better off without it really," he muttered to himself.
He waded in, shivering slightly at the chill and lay down, letting the water rinse his fur of any dirt that would have collected on it.

If there was one thing in this world that the dragon enjoyed more than a person's company... it was a bath. And if there was anything he enjoyed more than that, it was a bath with company. With a friend perhaps. Unlike many other dragons he recalled in a distant past, he preferred to be clean and free of most restraining things. Free like a bird or another free spirited dragon like himself. Birds weren't particularly his style though... they were tiny... and not even good for eating.
And so, he found himself wading through a river along the current, letting the war flow around his black and blue spotted hide as he swam along. You never knew what sort of fun could be had in a river like this one! And then... he got a shock... it was something else! It looked far too big to be a fish... and looked like it was also cleaning itself.
And the dragon, being the childishly intelligent and polite thing that he was, swam towards the other without a thought and grinned, "Hullo there!"

If he didn't find himself so refined, Yukio would have jumped out of his skin at the appearance of the odd kitsu that was now in the water. He stiffened slightly and barked out a rough
"Hello."
His ears twitched slightly as he looked at the other kitsu. What on earth was he? Yukio fought his curiosity. He had to keep up appearances after all.
"What the hell are you?"

The water swelled around him and flushed through his fur. It was a pleasant coolant and he rejoiced in it. Flicking back his ears in pleasure, he tilted his head and the rough answers of the other. Falling back and blinking in surprise, he answered a little curiously, "...A dragon... what are you?" He however, was far more polite than the little barking blue ...thing... swimming in front of him.

Yukio looked at the Dragon in astonishment.
"I thought that dragons were myths that the older kitsus made up!" Heck, most of what Cadis said he mostly disbelieved.
"What's next? Actual Merkitsus?"
He decided that he was wet enough, and climbed up to the bank to dry himself. Besides, he was getting tired trying to not float away in the water.
"I'm a Fa'e." He decided to leave out all of the extra details. It wouldn't matter to this kitsu after all.
"You can simply call me Yukio."

"Merkitsu? Fa'e?" he replied curiously, staying in the water. It seemed better off in here anyway. Plus, he wasn't quite clean yet. He wanted to bask and float around for just a little longer, even if it didn't really mean much. It was a little strange though... a myth? He was a myth? Did people not really see dragon kitsu like himself anymore? Then again... he hadn't really seen anyone like himself before either. No matter. Now... there were perhaps more important things to deal with... like how the other was a ...Fa'e. What on earth was that? "I've never heard of those..."

Yukio shook himself, trying to dislodge enough water so that the wind could dry his fur without him getting too cold.
"Mer kitsu are only able to be in the water," he shrugged. Cadis was full of such strange stories.
"I've never seen one. I think they're just a story that some of the adults whipped up." Although, they seemed a little less fantastic now that he had actually met a dragon kitsu.
"Fa'e, we're members of the seasonal courts. I belong to the spring court." He brushed a paw across one of his tails.
"It fits, doesn't it?" He asked, looking at the bright colours of his pelt.

"Seasonal courts? Spring?" This seemed a little familiar. Seasons. Temeraire loved seasons, always changing and bringing forth new days. It was always amusing to see the leaves go from tiny buds into blossoming flowers and then into withering ashes, only to repeat all over again. It was a fond little idea. "Yes, you're very bright!" He went on in a complimentary tone, admiring the other's blinding colors. They were all sorts of colors melded together in a way he'd never seen on anything, and especially not on this strange looking creature. Of course, he was strange too... wasn't he? Perhaps a little.

Yukio smiled smugly as he brushed his tails. Still, he sighed. He knew that there had to be other Fa'e around, heck, probably other weird kitsu too.
"You still haven't told me your name," he said irritably. He had assumed that upon giving his name, the dragon would follow. He snorted quietly.
"Is there anything interesting around here?"
