Do you think hate/race groups, such as:

KKK
neo-nazis
skinheads
The Protocols of the Elders of Zion
Black Separtist [Supremacy]
Holocaust denial
white nationalist
anti-immigration
anti-gay
general hate

should be allowed to exist [physically] and remain under protection of the first amendment of the bill of rights?

What actions should be taken, if any, when one of these groups acts out violently, threatens, or intimidates another member of society? Should they still be protected by the first amendment?

Yes, I think they should be allowed to exist and speak freely. Violence, threats, intimidation e.t.c. should be treated as it would be in any other case. Just because the rest of society believes their views are wrong doesn't mean that they shouldn't be allowed to express them.

I hate bigots, but free speech for all. You can't have the good without the bad. If they commit a crime treat them like anybody else, however. Basically, I totally agree with Queen of the Radii.

Define "hate".

A Libertarian affiliate grumbles and mumbles about those "darned Republicrats in Sacramento". Are we "hating" those politicians?

A Pagan grove has a discussion about the local evangelicals who are trying to get several Circle members to go to their church instead. The discussion gets somewhat emotional because the Circle is close-knit, and several members talk about how they can't stand all the evangelical's "one true way" stuff. Is that "hate?"

The Christians on the other side of town assemble for Church-- and before services they grumble about how the Pagans have a "hard heart given to Satan". Are they "hating" the Pagans?

I'd argue that there is negativity here, not true hatred. I'd even go so far as to argue that groups that tend to be founded on hatred such as the KKK have a certain basis in genuine friction, people being what they are and all. I'd actually argue that most hate groups are an attempt to band together people who feel disempowered.

So, I say let them gather and blow off some steam.

If they commit a genuine criminal act, then by all means hold them responsible for their actions.

They're all fascist pieces of crap, but they still have the right to free speech and should be allowed just like anyone to assemble. If we where to take away their right to do so we would be no better then then, with how they want to take away rights from the majority of minorities.
